قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۗ اَلَا يَتَّقُوْنَ ١١
- qawma
- قَوْمَ
- (The) people
- fir'ʿawna
- فِرْعَوْنَۚ
- (of) Firaun
- alā
- أَلَا
- Will not
- yattaqūna
- يَتَّقُونَ
- they fear?"
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 11)Tafsir
12
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْٓ اَخَافُ اَنْ يُّكَذِّبُوْنِ ۗ ١٢
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord!
- innī
- إِنِّىٓ
- Indeed I
- akhāfu
- أَخَافُ
- [I] fear
- an
- أَن
- that
- yukadhibūni
- يُكَذِّبُونِ
- they will deny me
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 12)Tafsir
13
وَيَضِيْقُ صَدْرِيْ وَلَا يَنْطَلِقُ لِسَانِيْ فَاَرْسِلْ اِلٰى هٰرُوْنَ ١٣
- wayaḍīqu
- وَيَضِيقُ
- And straitens
- ṣadrī
- صَدْرِى
- my breast
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yanṭaliqu
- يَنطَلِقُ
- expresses well
- lisānī
- لِسَانِى
- my tongue
- fa-arsil
- فَأَرْسِلْ
- so send
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- for
- hārūna
- هَٰرُونَ
- Harun
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 13)Tafsir
14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنْۢبٌ فَاَخَافُ اَنْ يَّقْتُلُوْنِ ۚ ١٤
- walahum
- وَلَهُمْ
- And they have
- ʿalayya
- عَلَىَّ
- against me
- dhanbun
- ذَنۢبٌ
- a crime
- fa-akhāfu
- فَأَخَافُ
- so I fear
- an
- أَن
- that
- yaqtulūni
- يَقْتُلُونِ
- they will kill me"
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 14)Tafsir
15
قَالَ كَلَّاۚ فَاذْهَبَا بِاٰيٰتِنَآ اِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُّسْتَمِعُوْنَ ۙ ١٥
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- kallā
- كَلَّاۖ
- "Nay
- fa-idh'habā
- فَٱذْهَبَا
- go both of you
- biāyātinā
- بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۖ
- with Our Signs
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed We
- maʿakum
- مَعَكُم
- (are) with you
- mus'tamiʿūna
- مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
- listening
[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 15)Tafsir
16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُوْلَآ اِنَّا رَسُوْلُ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۙ ١٦
- fatiyā
- فَأْتِيَا
- So go both of you
- fir'ʿawna
- فِرْعَوْنَ
- (to) Firaun
- faqūlā
- فَقُولَآ
- and say
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed we
- rasūlu
- رَسُولُ
- (are the) Messenger
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- (of the) Lord
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 16)Tafsir
17
اَنْ اَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ ۗ ١٧
- an
- أَنْ
- [That]
- arsil
- أَرْسِلْ
- send
- maʿanā
- مَعَنَا
- with us
- banī
- بَنِىٓ
- (the) Children of Israel.'
- is'rāīla
- إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
- (the) Children of Israel.'
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 17)Tafsir
18
قَالَ اَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِيْنَا وَلِيْدًا وَّلَبِثْتَ فِيْنَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِيْنَ ۗ ١٨
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- "Did not
- nurabbika
- نُرَبِّكَ
- we bring you up
- fīnā
- فِينَا
- among us
- walīdan
- وَلِيدًا
- (as) a child
- walabith'ta
- وَلَبِثْتَ
- and you remained
- fīnā
- فِينَا
- among us
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- ʿumurika
- عُمُرِكَ
- your life
- sinīna
- سِنِينَ
- years?
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 18)Tafsir
19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِيْ فَعَلْتَ وَاَنْتَ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ١٩
- wafaʿalta
- وَفَعَلْتَ
- And you did
- faʿlataka
- فَعْلَتَكَ
- your deed
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- which
- faʿalta
- فَعَلْتَ
- you did
- wa-anta
- وَأَنتَ
- and you
- mina
- مِنَ
- (were) of
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the ungrateful"
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 19)Tafsir
20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ اِذًا وَّاَنَا۠ مِنَ الضَّاۤلِّيْنَ ٢٠
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- faʿaltuhā
- فَعَلْتُهَآ
- "I did it
- idhan
- إِذًا
- when
- wa-anā
- وَأَنَا۠
- I
- mina
- مِنَ
- (was) of
- l-ḍālīna
- ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
- those who are astray
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant]. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 20)Tafsir
