Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Furqan Verse 71

Al-Furqan [25]: 71 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَمَنْ تَابَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَاِنَّهٗ يَتُوْبُ اِلَى اللّٰهِ مَتَابًا (الفرقان : ٢٥)

waman
وَمَن
And whoever
tāba

repents

وَعَمِلَ
and does
ṣāliḥan
صَٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
fa-innahu
فَإِنَّهُۥ
then indeed he
yatūbu
يَتُوبُ
turns
ilā
إِلَى

l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
matāban
مَتَابًا
(with) repentance

Transliteration:

Wa man taaba wa 'amila saalihan fa innnahoo yatoobu ilal laahi mataabaa (QS. al-Furq̈ān:71)

English / Sahih Translation:

And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance. (QS. Al-Furqan, ayah 71)

Tafsir jalalayn

and whoever repents, of his sins, from among other than those mentioned, and acts righteously, indeed turns to God with due repentance, that is, he returns to God a sincere return, and God will requite him with good;

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then indeed he has repented to Allah Mataba.

meaning, Allah will accept his repentance.

This is like the Ayat;

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ سُوءاً أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللَّهَ يَجِدِ اللَّهَ غَفُوراً رَّحِيماً

And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (4;110)

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ

Know they not that Allah accepts repentance from His servants... (9;104)

قُلْ يعِبَادِىَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُواْ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُواْ مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ

Say;"O My servants who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah." (39;53) - for those who repent to Him
