Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Furqan Verse 25
Al-Furqan [25]: 25 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَاۤءُ بِالْغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ تَنْزِيْلًا (الفرقان : ٢٥)
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (the) Day
- tashaqqaqu
- تَشَقَّقُ
- will split open
- l-samāu
- ٱلسَّمَآءُ
- the heavens
- bil-ghamāmi
- بِٱلْغَمَٰمِ
- with the clouds
- wanuzzila
- وَنُزِّلَ
- and (will be) sent down
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- tanzīlan
- تَنزِيلًا
- descending
Transliteration:
Wa Yawma tashaqqaqus samaaa'u bilghamaami wa nuzzilal malaaa'ikatu tanzeela(QS. al-Furq̈ān:25)
English / Sahih Translation:
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. (QS. Al-Furqan, ayah 25)

Tafsir jalalayn
And on the day when the heaven, each of the [seven] heavens, will be split asunder with the clouds, in other words, [split asunder] together with them [the clouds] (al-ghamm is white cloud) and the angels will be sent down, from every heaven, in a [majestic] descent, and this is the Day of Resurrection (it [yawma, `on the day'] is in the accusative because of an implied [preceding] udhkur, `mention'; a variant reading [for tashaqqaqu] is tashshaqqaqu, `will be split asunder', where the second t' [of the original form tatashaqqaqu] has been assimilated with it the [the shn]; another variant reading [instead of nuzzila al- mal'ikatu, `the angels will be sent down'] has nunzilu al-mal'ikata, `We will send down the angels');
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
The Terrors of the Day of Resurrection, and how the Wrongdoers will wish that They had taken a Path with the Messenger
Allah tells;
وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَاء بِالْغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الْمَلَيِكَةُ تَنزِيلً
And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending.
Here Allah tells us about the terror of the Day of Resurrection and the tremendous events that will happen, including the splitting of heavens when they are pierced by the clouds, that is the shadow of the magnificent light which dazzles all sight.
The angels of heaven will come down on that Day and surround all creatures at the place of gathering, then the Lord, may He be blessed and exalted, will come to pass judgement.
Mujahid said,
This is as Allah says;
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي ظُلَلٍ مِّنَ الْغَمَامِ وَالْمَلَـيِكَةُ
Do they then wait for anything other than that Allah should come to them in the shadows of the clouds and the angels. (2;210
