۞ وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَرْجُوْنَ لِقَاۤءَنَا لَوْلَآ اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ اَوْ نَرٰى رَبَّنَا ۗ لَقَدِ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُتُوًّا كَبِيْرًا ٢١
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And said
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yarjūna
- يَرْجُونَ
- expect
- liqāanā
- لِقَآءَنَا
- (the) meeting with Us
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- "Why not
- unzila
- أُنزِلَ
- are sent down
- ʿalaynā
- عَلَيْنَا
- to us
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- narā
- نَرَىٰ
- we see
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَاۗ
- our Lord?"
- laqadi
- لَقَدِ
- Indeed
- is'takbarū
- ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
- they have become arrogant
- fī
- فِىٓ
- within
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْ
- themselves
- waʿataw
- وَعَتَوْ
- and (become) insolent
- ʿutuwwan
- عُتُوًّا
- (with) insolence
- kabīran
- كَبِيرًا
- great
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 21)Tafsir
يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةَ لَا بُشْرٰى يَوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُجْرِمِيْنَ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ حِجْرًا مَّحْجُوْرًا ٢٢
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (The) Day
- yarawna
- يَرَوْنَ
- they see
- l-malāikata
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
- the Angels
- lā
- لَا
- no
- bush'rā
- بُشْرَىٰ
- glad tidings
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- (will be) that Day
- lil'muj'rimīna
- لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ
- for the criminals
- wayaqūlūna
- وَيَقُولُونَ
- and they will say
- ḥij'ran
- حِجْرًا
- "A partition
- maḥjūran
- مَّحْجُورًا
- forbidden"
The day they see the angels – no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible." (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 22)Tafsir
وَقَدِمْنَآ اِلٰى مَا عَمِلُوْا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنٰهُ هَبَاۤءً مَّنْثُوْرًا ٢٣
- waqadim'nā
- وَقَدِمْنَآ
- And We will proceed
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- mā
- مَا
- whatever
- ʿamilū
- عَمِلُوا۟
- they did
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- ʿamalin
- عَمَلٍ
- (the) deed(s)
- fajaʿalnāhu
- فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ
- and We will make them
- habāan
- هَبَآءً
- (as) dust
- manthūran
- مَّنثُورًا
- dispersed
And We will approach [i.e., regard] what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 23)Tafsir
اَصْحٰبُ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ خَيْرٌ مُّسْتَقَرًّا وَّاَحْسَنُ مَقِيْلًا ٢٤
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (The) companions
- l-janati
- ٱلْجَنَّةِ
- (of) Paradise
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that Day
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (will be in) a better
- mus'taqarran
- مُّسْتَقَرًّا
- abode
- wa-aḥsanu
- وَأَحْسَنُ
- and a better
- maqīlan
- مَقِيلًا
- resting-place
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 24)Tafsir
وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَاۤءُ بِالْغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ تَنْزِيْلًا ٢٥
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (the) Day
- tashaqqaqu
- تَشَقَّقُ
- will split open
- l-samāu
- ٱلسَّمَآءُ
- the heavens
- bil-ghamāmi
- بِٱلْغَمَٰمِ
- with the clouds
- wanuzzila
- وَنُزِّلَ
- and (will be) sent down
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- tanzīlan
- تَنزِيلًا
- descending
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 25)Tafsir
اَلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَىِٕذِ ِۨالْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمٰنِۗ وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَى الْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَسِيْرًا ٢٦
- al-mul'ku
- ٱلْمُلْكُ
- The Sovereignty
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that Day
- l-ḥaqu
- ٱلْحَقُّ
- (will be) truly
- lilrraḥmāni
- لِلرَّحْمَٰنِۚ
- for the Most Gracious
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And (it will) be
- yawman
- يَوْمًا
- a Day
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- for
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers
- ʿasīran
- عَسِيرًا
- difficult
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 26)Tafsir
وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ الظَّالِمُ عَلٰى يَدَيْهِ يَقُوْلُ يٰلَيْتَنِى اتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ الرَّسُوْلِ سَبِيْلًا ٢٧
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (the) Day
- yaʿaḍḍu
- يَعَضُّ
- will bite
- l-ẓālimu
- ٱلظَّالِمُ
- the wrongdoer
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- [on]
- yadayhi
- يَدَيْهِ
- his hands
- yaqūlu
- يَقُولُ
- he will say
- yālaytanī
- يَٰلَيْتَنِى
- "O I wish!
- ittakhadhtu
- ٱتَّخَذْتُ
- I had taken
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- with
- l-rasūli
- ٱلرَّسُولِ
- the Messenger
- sabīlan
- سَبِيلًا
- a way
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 27)Tafsir
يٰوَيْلَتٰى لَيْتَنِيْ لَمْ اَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيْلًا ٢٨
- yāwaylatā
- يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰ
- O woe to me!
- laytanī
- لَيْتَنِى
- I wish
- lam
- لَمْ
- not
- attakhidh
- أَتَّخِذْ
- I had taken
- fulānan
- فُلَانًا
- that one
- khalīlan
- خَلِيلًا
- (as) a friend
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 28)Tafsir
لَقَدْ اَضَلَّنِيْ عَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ اِذْ جَاۤءَنِيْۗ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطٰنُ لِلْاِنْسَانِ خَذُوْلًا ٢٩
- laqad
- لَّقَدْ
- Verily
- aḍallanī
- أَضَلَّنِى
- he led me astray
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- from
- l-dhik'ri
- ٱلذِّكْرِ
- the Reminder
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- idh
- إِذْ
- [when]
- jāanī
- جَآءَنِىۗ
- it (had) come to me
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And is
- l-shayṭānu
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
- the Shaitaan
- lil'insāni
- لِلْإِنسَٰنِ
- to the man
- khadhūlan
- خَذُولًا
- a deserter"
He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter." (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 29)Tafsir
وَقَالَ الرَّسُوْلُ يٰرَبِّ اِنَّ قَوْمِى اتَّخَذُوْا هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ مَهْجُوْرًا ٣٠
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And said
- l-rasūlu
- ٱلرَّسُولُ
- the Messenger
- yārabbi
- يَٰرَبِّ
- "O my Lord!
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- qawmī
- قَوْمِى
- my people
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
- took
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- l-qur'āna
- ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
- the Quran
- mahjūran
- مَهْجُورًا
- (as) a forsaken thing"
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Quran as [a thing] abandoned." (QS. [25] Al-Furqan: 30)Tafsir
