Al-Qur'an Surah An-Nur Verse 8
An-Nur [24]: 8 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَيَدْرَؤُا عَنْهَا الْعَذَابَ اَنْ تَشْهَدَ اَرْبَعَ شَهٰدٰتٍۢ بِاللّٰهِ اِنَّهٗ لَمِنَ الْكٰذِبِيْنَ ۙ (النور : ٢٤)
- wayadra-u
- وَيَدْرَؤُا۟
- But it would prevent
- ʿanhā
- عَنْهَا
- from her
- l-ʿadhāba
- ٱلْعَذَابَ
- the punishment
- an
- أَن
- that
- tashhada
- تَشْهَدَ
- she bears witness
- arbaʿa
- أَرْبَعَ
- four
- shahādātin
- شَهَٰدَٰتٍۭ
- testimonies
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِۙ
- by Allah
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- that he
- lamina
- لَمِنَ
- (is) surely of
- l-kādhibīna
- ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
- the liars
Transliteration:
Wa yadra'u anhal 'azaaba an tashhada arba'a shahaa daatim billaahi innahoo laminal kaazibeen(QS. an-Nūr:8)
English / Sahih Translation:
But it will prevent punishment from her if she gives four testimonies [swearing] by Allah that indeed, he is of the liars. (QS. An-Nur, ayah 8)

And it will remove the punishment from the woman if she swears four oaths by Allah that he (the accuser husband) is certainly one of the liars,

Tafsir jalalayn
And the punishment, namely, the prescribed [legal] punishment for fornication that is established upon his testimony, shall be averted from her if she testify [swearing] by God four times that he is indeed lying, in accusing her of having fornicated;
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
Allah says;
وَيَدْرَأُ
عَنْهَا الْعَذَابَ
But she shall avert the punishment,
meaning, the prescribed punishment.

أَنْ تَشْهَدَ أَرْبَعَ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ
وَالْخَامِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِين
