Al-Qur'an Surah An-Nur Verse 38

An-Nur [24]: 38 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللّٰهُ اَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوْا وَيَزِيْدَهُمْ مِّنْ فَضْلِهٖۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ (النور : ٢٤)

لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ
That Allah may reward them

Transliteration:

Liyajziyahumul laahu ahsana maa 'amiloo wa yazeedahum min fadlih; wal laahu yarzuqu mai yashaaa'u bighairi hisaab (QS. an-Nūr:38)

English / Sahih Translation:

That Allah may reward them [according to] the best of what they did and increase them from His bounty. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account [i.e., limit]. (QS. An-Nur, ayah 38)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

The fate (of such people) is that Allah will reward them for the best deeds they did, and will give them more out of His grace. Allah gives whom He wills without counting.

˹hoping˺ that Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and increase them out of His grace. And Allah provides for whoever He wills without limit.

(And they behave like this) so that Allah may reward them for their excellent deeds and, in addition to it, show His favour to them out of His bounty: Allah provides without stint for anyone He pleases.

With the result that Allâh will give them the reward according to their fairest deeds and will (even) give them much more by His grace and bounty. And Allâh does provide without measure to whom He will.

English Literal

(For) God to reward/reimburse them best (of) what they made/did , and He increases them from His grace/favour/blessing , and God provides for whom He wills/wants without counting/calculating.

God will reward them according to the best of what they did, and He will increase them from His bounty. God provides for whomever He wills without reckoning.

Tafsir jalalayn

so that God may reward them for the best of what they did, that is, [reward them] the reward for it (ahsana means husna), and give them more out of His bounty; and God provides whomever He will without [any] reckoning (one says [of someone] yunfiqu bi-ghayri hisbin, to mean that such [a person] is so generous that it is as though he does not [need to] reckon what he spends).

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا

That Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds,

meaning, "They are those from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their evil deeds."

وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ

and add even more for them out of His grace.

means, He will accept their good deeds and multiply them for them, as Allah says;

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ

Surely, Allah wrongs not even of the weight of a speck of dust. (4;40)

مَن جَأءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا

Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit. (6;160)

مَّن ذَا الَّذِى يُقْرِضُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا

Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan. (2;245)

وَاللَّهُ يُضَـعِفُ لِمَن يَشَأءُ

Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. (2;261)

And Allah says here;

وَاللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاء بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ



And Allah provides without measure to whom He wills
