Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mu'minun Verse 40

Al-Mu'minun [23]: 40 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيْلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نٰدِمِيْنَ ۚ (المؤمنون : ٢٣)

"After a little while
qalīlin
قَلِيلٍ
"After a little while
layuṣ'biḥunna
لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ
surely they will become
nādimīna
نَٰدِمِينَ
regretful"

Transliteration:

Qaala 'ammaa qaleelil la yusbihunna naadimeen (QS. al-Muʾminūn:40)

English / Sahih Translation:

[Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." (QS. Al-Mu'minun, ayah 40)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

He (Allah) said, “In a little while they will have to be remorseful.”

Allah responded, “Soon they will be truly regretful.”

Tafsir jalalayn

He said, `In a little while, of time (`amm; the m is extra), they will become remorseful', about their disbelief and their denial.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

(Allah) said;"In a little while, they are sure to be regretful."

meaning, `for their opposition towards you and their stubborn rejection of the Message you brought to them.'
