Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mu'minun Verse 113
Al-Mu'minun [23]: 113 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
قَالُوْا لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا اَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ الْعَاۤدِّيْنَ (المؤمنون : ٢٣)

- but ask
- l-ʿādīna
- ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
- those who keep count"
Transliteration:
Qaaloo labisnaa yawman aw ba'da yawmin fas'alil 'aaaddeen(QS. al-Muʾminūn:113)
English / Sahih Translation:
They will say, "We remained a day or part of a day; ask those who enumerate." (QS. Al-Mu'minun, ayah 113)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
They will say, “We stayed for a day or for a part of a day. So, ask those (angels) who have (exact) calculation.”

They will say, `We tarried a day, or part of a day -- they are uncertain thereof, deeming it shorter [than what it was] because of the gravity of the chastisement they are suffering. Yet ask those who keep count!', namely, [ask] the angels who number the deeds of [all] creatures.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
They will say;"We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account."
meaning, those who keep the records
