Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mu'minun Verse 102

Al-Mu'minun [23]: 102 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِيْنُهٗ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ (المؤمنون : ٢٣)

faman
فَمَن
Then (the one) whose
thaqulat
ثَقُلَتْ
(are) heavy
mawāzīnuhu
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
his scales
fa-ulāika
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
then those -
humu
هُمُ
they
l-muf'liḥūna
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
(are) the successful

Transliteration:

Faman saqulat mawaazee nuhoo fa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon (QS. al-Muʾminūn:102)

English / Sahih Translation:

And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] – it is they who are the successful. (QS. Al-Mu'minun, ayah 102)

So, the one whose scales (of good deeds) turn out to be heavy, then such people are the successful ones,

Then, those whose Scales are heavy, these! they are the successful.

means, the one whose good deeds outweigh his bad deeds, even by one.

This was the view of Ibn Abbas.

فَأُوْلَيِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ


they are the successful.

means, those who have attained victory and been saved from Hell and admitted to Paradise.

Ibn Abbas said,

"These are the ones who have attained what they wanted and been saved from an evil from which there is no escape.
