ثُمَّ اَنْشَأْنَا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا اٰخَرِيْنَ ۚ ٣١
- thumma

- Then

- أَنشَأْنَا
- We produced
- min
- مِنۢ
- after them
- baʿdihim
- بَعْدِهِمْ
- after them
- qarnan
- قَرْنًا
- a generation
- ākharīna
- ءَاخَرِينَ
- another
Then We produced after them a generation of others. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 31)Tafsir
فَاَرْسَلْنَا فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْهُمْ اَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗۗ اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ࣖ ٣٢
- fa-arsalnā
- فَأَرْسَلْنَا
- And We sent
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْ
- among them
- rasūlan
- رَسُولًا
- a Messenger
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- from themselves
- ani
- أَنِ
- [that]
- uʿ'budū
- ٱعْبُدُوا۟
- "Worship
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah;
- mā
- مَا
- not
- lakum
- لَكُم
- for you
- min
- مِّنْ
- (is) any
- ilāhin
- إِلَٰهٍ
- god
- ghayruhu
- غَيْرُهُۥٓۖ
- other than Him
- afalā
- أَفَلَا
- Then will not
- tattaqūna
- تَتَّقُونَ
- you fear?"
And We sent among them a messenger from themselves, [saying], "Worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?" (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 32)Tafsir
وَقَالَ الْمَلَاُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَكَذَّبُوْا بِلِقَاۤءِ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَاَتْرَفْنٰهُمْ فِى الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۙ مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْۙ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُوْنَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُوْنَ ٣٣
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And said
- l-mala-u
- ٱلْمَلَأُ
- the chiefs
- min
- مِن
- of
- qawmihi
- قَوْمِهِ
- his people
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- wakadhabū
- وَكَذَّبُوا۟
- and denied
- biliqāi
- بِلِقَآءِ
- (the) meeting
- l-ākhirati
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- (of) the Hereafter
- wa-atrafnāhum
- وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ
- while We had given them luxury
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-ḥayati
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
- the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- mā
- مَا
- "Not
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآ
- (is) this
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- basharun
- بَشَرٌ
- a man
- mith'lukum
- مِّثْلُكُمْ
- like you
- yakulu
- يَأْكُلُ
- He eats
- mimmā
- مِمَّا
- of what
- takulūna
- تَأْكُلُونَ
- you eat
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- [from it]
- wayashrabu
- وَيَشْرَبُ
- and he drinks
- mimmā
- مِمَّا
- of what
- tashrabūna
- تَشْرَبُونَ
- you drink
And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 33)Tafsir
وَلَىِٕنْ اَطَعْتُمْ بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ اِنَّكُمْ اِذًا لَّخٰسِرُوْنَ ۙ ٣٤
- wala-in
- وَلَئِنْ
- And surely if
- aṭaʿtum
- أَطَعْتُم
- you obey
- basharan
- بَشَرًا
- a man
- mith'lakum
- مِّثْلَكُمْ
- like you
- innakum
- إِنَّكُمْ
- indeed you
- idhan
- إِذًا
- then
- lakhāsirūna
- لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
- surely (will be) losers
And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 34)Tafsir
اَيَعِدُكُمْ اَنَّكُمْ اِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنْتُمْ تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا اَنَّكُمْ مُّخْرَجُوْنَ ۖ ٣٥
- ayaʿidukum
- أَيَعِدُكُمْ
- Does he promise you -
- annakum
- أَنَّكُمْ
- that you
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- mittum
- مِتُّمْ
- you are dead
- wakuntum
- وَكُنتُمْ
- and you become
- turāban
- تُرَابًا
- dust
- waʿiẓāman
- وَعِظَٰمًا
- and bones
- annakum
- أَنَّكُم
- that you
- mukh'rajūna
- مُّخْرَجُونَ
- (will be) brought forth?
Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 35)Tafsir
۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ ۖ ٣٦
- hayhāta
- هَيْهَاتَ
- Far-(fetched)
- hayhāta
- هَيْهَاتَ
- far-(fetched)
- limā
- لِمَا
- is what
- tūʿadūna
- تُوعَدُونَ
- you are promised!
How far, how far, is that which you are promised. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 36)Tafsir
اِنْ هِيَ اِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوْتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوْثِيْنَ ۖ ٣٧
- in
- إِنْ
- Not
- hiya
- هِىَ
- it
- illā
- إِلَّا
- (is) but
- ḥayātunā
- حَيَاتُنَا
- our life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- namūtu
- نَمُوتُ
- we die
- wanaḥyā
- وَنَحْيَا
- and we live
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- bimabʿūthīna
- بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
- (will be) resurrected
It [i.e., life] is not but our worldly life – we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 37)Tafsir
اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا رَجُلُ ِۨافْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا وَّمَا نَحْنُ لَهٗ بِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٣٨
- in
- إِنْ
- Not
- huwa
- هُوَ
- (is) he
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- rajulun
- رَجُلٌ
- a man
- if'tarā
- ٱفْتَرَىٰ
- who (has) invented
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- about
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- kadhiban
- كَذِبًا
- a lie
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- (in) him
- bimu'minīna
- بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
- (are) believers"
He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 38)Tafsir
قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِيْ بِمَا كَذَّبُوْنِ ٣٩
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord!
- unṣur'nī
- ٱنصُرْنِى
- Help me
- bimā
- بِمَا
- because
- kadhabūni
- كَذَّبُونِ
- they deny me"
He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 39)Tafsir
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيْلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نٰدِمِيْنَ ۚ ٤٠
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- ʿammā
- عَمَّا
- "After a little while
- qalīlin
- قَلِيلٍ
- "After a little while
- layuṣ'biḥunna
- لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ
- surely they will become
- nādimīna
- نَٰدِمِينَ
- regretful"
[Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 40)Tafsir
