(The Believers)

21

وَاِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى الْاَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةًۗ نُسْقِيْكُمْ مِّمَّا فِيْ بُطُوْنِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيْهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيْرَةٌ وَّمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُوْنَ ۙ ٢١

wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
lakum
لَكُمْ
for you
فِى
in
l-anʿāmi
ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ
the cattle
laʿib'ratan
لَعِبْرَةًۖ
surely (is) a lesson
nus'qīkum
نُّسْقِيكُم
We give you drink
mimmā
مِّمَّا
from what
فِى
(is) in
buṭūnihā
بُطُونِهَا
their bellies
walakum
وَلَكُمْ
and for you
fīhā
فِيهَا
in them
manāfiʿu
مَنَٰفِعُ
(are) benefits
kathīratun
كَثِيرَةٌ
many
wamin'hā
وَمِنْهَا
and of them
takulūna
تَأْكُلُونَ
you eat
And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 21)
Tafsir
22

وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُوْنَ ࣖ ٢٢

waʿalayhā
وَعَلَيْهَا
And on them
waʿalā
وَعَلَى
and on
l-ful'ki
ٱلْفُلْكِ
[the] ships
tuḥ'malūna
تُحْمَلُونَ
you are carried
And upon them and on ships you are carried. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 22)
Tafsir
23

وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖ فَقَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗۗ اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ٢٣

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And verily
arsalnā
أَرْسَلْنَا
We sent
nūḥan
نُوحًا
Nuh
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
qawmihi
قَوْمِهِۦ
his people
faqāla
فَقَالَ
and he said
yāqawmi
يَٰقَوْمِ
"O my people!
uʿ'budū
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
Worship
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah;
مَا
not
lakum
لَكُم
for you
min
مِّنْ
(is) any
ilāhin
إِلَٰهٍ
god
ghayruhu
غَيْرُهُۥٓۖ
other than Him
afalā
أَفَلَا
Then will not
tattaqūna
تَتَّقُونَ
you fear?"
And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?" (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 23)
Tafsir
24

فَقَالَ الْمَلَؤُا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْۙ يُرِيْدُ اَنْ يَّتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْۗ وَلَوْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ لَاَنْزَلَ مَلٰۤىِٕكَةً ۖمَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهٰذَا فِيْٓ اٰبَاۤىِٕنَا الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ۚ ٢٤

faqāla
فَقَالَ
But said
l-mala-u
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
the chiefs
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
min
مِن
among
qawmihi
قَوْمِهِۦ
his people
مَا
"This is not
hādhā
هَٰذَآ
"This is not
illā
إِلَّا
but
basharun
بَشَرٌ
a man
mith'lukum
مِّثْلُكُمْ
like you
yurīdu
يُرِيدُ
he wishes
an
أَن
to
yatafaḍḍala
يَتَفَضَّلَ
assert (his) superiority
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُمْ
over you
walaw
وَلَوْ
and if
shāa
شَآءَ
Allah had willed
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah had willed
la-anzala
لَأَنزَلَ
surely He (would have) sent down
malāikatan
مَلَٰٓئِكَةً
Angels
مَّا
Not
samiʿ'nā
سَمِعْنَا
we heard
bihādhā
بِهَٰذَا
of this
فِىٓ
from
ābāinā
ءَابَآئِنَا
our forefathers
l-awalīna
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
our forefathers
But the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "This is not but a man like yourselves who wishes to take precedence over you; and if Allah had willed [to send a messenger], He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 24)
Tafsir
25

اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهٖ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوْا بِهٖ حَتّٰى حِيْنٍ ٢٥

in
إِنْ
Not
huwa
هُوَ
he
illā
إِلَّا
(is) but
rajulun
رَجُلٌۢ
a man
bihi
بِهِۦ
in him
jinnatun
جِنَّةٌ
(is) madness
fatarabbaṣū
فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟
so wait
bihi
بِهِۦ
concerning him
ḥattā
حَتَّىٰ
until
ḥīnin
حِينٍ
a time"
He is not but a man possessed with madness, so wait concerning him for a time." (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 25)
Tafsir
26

قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِيْ بِمَا كَذَّبُوْنِ ٢٦

qāla
قَالَ
He said
rabbi
رَبِّ
"My Lord!
unṣur'nī
ٱنصُرْنِى
Help me
bimā
بِمَا
because
kadhabūni
كَذَّبُونِ
they deny me"
[Noah] said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 26)
Tafsir
27

فَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلَيْهِ اَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِاَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَاِذَا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّوْرُۙ فَاسْلُكْ فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَاَهْلَكَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْۚ وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِيْ فِى الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْاۚ اِنَّهُمْ مُّغْرَقُوْنَ ٢٧

fa-awḥaynā
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ
So We inspired
ilayhi
إِلَيْهِ
to him
ani
أَنِ
"That
iṣ'naʿi
ٱصْنَعِ
construct
l-ful'ka
ٱلْفُلْكَ
the ship
bi-aʿyuninā
بِأَعْيُنِنَا
under Our eyes
wawaḥyinā
وَوَحْيِنَا
and Our inspiration
fa-idhā
فَإِذَا
then when
jāa
جَآءَ
comes
amrunā
أَمْرُنَا
Our Command
wafāra
وَفَارَ
and gushes forth
l-tanūru
ٱلتَّنُّورُۙ
the oven
fa-us'luk
فَٱسْلُكْ
then put
fīhā
فِيهَا
into it
min
مِن
of
kullin
كُلٍّ
every (kind)
zawjayni
زَوْجَيْنِ
(of) mates
ith'nayni
ٱثْنَيْنِ
two
wa-ahlaka
وَأَهْلَكَ
and your family
illā
إِلَّا
except
man
مَن
those
sabaqa
سَبَقَ
(has) preceded
ʿalayhi
عَلَيْهِ
against whom
l-qawlu
ٱلْقَوْلُ
the Word
min'hum
مِنْهُمْۖ
thereof
walā
وَلَا
And (do) not
tukhāṭib'nī
تُخَٰطِبْنِى
address Me
فِى
concerning
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ẓalamū
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ۖ
wronged
innahum
إِنَّهُم
indeed they
mugh'raqūna
مُّغْرَقُونَ
(are) the ones to be drowned
So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into it [i.e., the ship] from each [creature] two mates and your family, except him for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 27)
Tafsir
28

فَاِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ اَنْتَ وَمَنْ مَّعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ نَجّٰىنَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٢٨

fa-idhā
فَإِذَا
And when
is'tawayta
ٱسْتَوَيْتَ
you (have) boarded
anta
أَنتَ
you
waman
وَمَن
and whoever
maʿaka
مَّعَكَ
(is) with you
ʿalā
عَلَى
[on]
l-ful'ki
ٱلْفُلْكِ
the ship
faquli
فَقُلِ
then say
l-ḥamdu
ٱلْحَمْدُ
"Praise
lillahi
لِلَّهِ
(be) to Allah
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
Who
najjānā
نَجَّىٰنَا
(has) saved us
mina
مِنَ
from
l-qawmi
ٱلْقَوْمِ
the people -
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers'"
And when you have boarded the ship, you and those with you, then say, 'Praise to Allah who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.' (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 28)
Tafsir
29

وَقُلْ رَّبِّ اَنْزِلْنِيْ مُنْزَلًا مُّبٰرَكًا وَّاَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِيْنَ ٢٩

waqul
وَقُل
And say
rabbi
رَّبِّ
"My Lord
anzil'nī
أَنزِلْنِى
cause me to land
munzalan
مُنزَلًا
(at) a landing place
mubārakan
مُّبَارَكًا
blessed
wa-anta
وَأَنتَ
and You
khayru
خَيْرُ
(are) the Best
l-munzilīna
ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
(of) those who cause to land'"
And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].'" (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 29)
Tafsir
30

اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ وَّاِنْ كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِيْنَ ٣٠

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyātin
لَءَايَٰتٍ
surely (are) Signs
wa-in
وَإِن
and indeed
kunnā
كُنَّا
We are
lamub'talīna
لَمُبْتَلِينَ
surely testing
Indeed in that are signs, and indeed, We are ever testing [Our servants]. (QS. [23] Al-Mu'minun: 30)
