Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Hajj Verse 42

And if they reject you, so did reject the people of NūH (Noah) and ‘Ād and Thamūd,

English Literal

And if they deny you , so Noah`s nation had denied before them, and Aad`s and Thamud`s .

And if they deny you -- these [words] to the end [of the statement] are meant to comfort the Prophet (s) -- the people of Noah denied before them (kadhdhabat, in the feminine person on the basis of the [overall] import), and `d, the people of Hd, and Thamd, the people of Slih,

The Consequences for the Disbelievers

Here Allah consoles His Prophet Muhammad for the disbelief of those among his people who opposed him.

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَثَمُودُ



وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ
