Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Hajj Verse 10

Al-Hajj [22]: 10 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

ذٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدٰكَ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيْدِ ࣖ (الحج : ٢٢)

dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ

قَدَّمَتْ
have sent forth
yadāka
يَدَاكَ
your hands
wa-anna
وَأَنَّ
and that
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
laysa
لَيْسَ
is not
biẓallāmin
بِظَلَّٰمٍ
unjust
lil'ʿabīdi
لِّلْعَبِيدِ
to His slaves

Transliteration:

Zaalika bimaa qaddamat yadaaka wa annal laaha laisa bizallaamil lil'abeed (QS. al-Ḥajj:10)

English / Sahih Translation:

"That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants." (QS. Al-Hajj, ayah 10)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

(and will say to him) “All this is due to what your hands sent ahead, and that Allah is not unjust to His servants.”

˹They will be told,˺ “This is ˹the reward˺ for what your hands have done. And Allah is never unjust to ˹His˺ creation.”

That is the outcome of what your own hands have wrought, for Allah never wrongs His creatures.

That is on account of what you had done in the past; yet God is not unjust to His creatures.

“This is the recompense of what your hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen."

‘That is because of what your hands have sent ahead, and because Allah is not tyrannical to the servants.’

"This punishment is the outcome of what you have (committed and) forwarded with your own hands, and never does God do the least wrong to His servants."

And (to such it will be said,) `This is the result of what your own hands have sent on before (- your deeds); and Allâh is not the least unjust to (His) servants.´

English Literal

That (is) because (of) what your hands advanced/introduced , and that God is not with an unjust/oppressor to the worshippers/slaves.

"This is the recompense of what your hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen."

Turning his neck from the way of Allah; for him is disgrace in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection We will make him taste the doom of burning.

Turning away haughtily to lead men astray from the way of Allah. For him is disgrace in this world, and on the day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the punishment of burning.

[God will say],"This is the reward of your misdeeds. God is not unjust to His servants."

That is for what your hands have advanced, and because God is not unjust to the servants.

Tafsir jalalayn

`That is [the chastisement] for what your hands have sent ahead, in other words, what you have offered [in the way of deeds] -- He refers to him with reference to the two [hands] as opposed to other [parts], because most actions are effected through them -- and because God is not unjust to His servants', chastising them without [their having committed] any sin.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاكَ

and on the Day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the torment of burning. That is because of what your hands have sent forth,

means, this will be said to him by way of rebuke.

وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ



and verily, Allah is not unjust to the servants.

This is like the Ayah;

خُذُوهُ فَاعْتِلُوهُ إِلَى سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ

ثُمَّ صُبُّواْ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْحَمِيمِ

ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْكَرِيمُ

إِنَّ هَـذَا مَا كُنتُمْ بِهِ تَمْتَرُونَ

(It will be said;) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing Fire, Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water.

Taste you (this)! Verily, you were (pretending to be) the mighty, the generous! Verily, this is that whereof you used to doubt!" (44;47-50
