(The Prophets)

111

وَاِنْ اَدْرِيْ لَعَلَّهٗ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ اِلٰى حِيْنٍ ١١١

wa-in
وَإِنْ
And not
adrī
أَدْرِى
I know
laʿallahu
لَعَلَّهُۥ
perhaps it may be
fit'natun
فِتْنَةٌ
a trial
lakum
لَّكُمْ
for you
wamatāʿun
وَمَتَٰعٌ
and an enjoyment
ilā
إِلَىٰ
for
ḥīnin
حِينٍ
a time"
And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 111)
Tafsir
112

قَالَ رَبِّ احْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّۗ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمٰنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلٰى مَا تَصِفُوْنَ ࣖ ١١٢

qāla
قَٰلَ
He said
rabbi
رَبِّ
"My Lord!
uḥ'kum
ٱحْكُم
judge
bil-ḥaqi
بِٱلْحَقِّۗ
in truth
warabbunā
وَرَبُّنَا
And our Lord
l-raḥmānu
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
(is) the Most Gracious
l-mus'taʿānu
ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ
the One Whose help is sought
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
against
مَا
what
taṣifūna
تَصِفُونَ
you attribute"
[The Prophet (^)] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 112)
