(The Prophets)

101

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُمْ مِّنَّا الْحُسْنٰىٓۙ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُوْنَ ۙ ١٠١

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
sabaqat
سَبَقَتْ
has gone forth
lahum
لَهُم
for them
minnā
مِّنَّا
from Us
l-ḥus'nā
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰٓ
the good
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those
ʿanhā
عَنْهَا
from it
mub'ʿadūna
مُبْعَدُونَ
(will be) removed far
Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us – they are from it far removed. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 101)
Tafsir
102

لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ حَسِيْسَهَاۚ وَهُمْ فِيْ مَا اشْتَهَتْ اَنْفُسُهُمْ خٰلِدُوْنَ ۚ ١٠٢

لَا
Not
yasmaʿūna
يَسْمَعُونَ
they will hear
ḥasīsahā
حَسِيسَهَاۖ
(the) slightest sound of it
wahum
وَهُمْ
and they
فِى
in
مَا
what
ish'tahat
ٱشْتَهَتْ
desire
anfusuhum
أَنفُسُهُمْ
their souls
khālidūna
خَٰلِدُونَ
will abide forever
They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 102)
Tafsir
103

لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْاَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقّٰىهُمُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُۗ هٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِيْ كُنْتُمْ تُوْعَدُوْنَ ١٠٣

لَا
Not
yaḥzunuhumu
يَحْزُنُهُمُ
will grieve them
l-fazaʿu
ٱلْفَزَعُ
the terror
l-akbaru
ٱلْأَكْبَرُ
[the] greatest
watatalaqqāhumu
وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ
and will meet them
l-malāikatu
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
hādhā
هَٰذَا
"This
yawmukumu
يَوْمُكُمُ
(is) your Day
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
which
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you were
tūʿadūna
تُوعَدُونَ
promised"
They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], "This is your Day which you have been promised" – (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 103)
Tafsir
104

يَوْمَ نَطْوِى السَّمَاۤءَ كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِۗ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ اَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِيْدُهٗۗ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَاۗ اِنَّا كُنَّا فٰعِلِيْنَ ١٠٤

yawma
يَوْمَ
(The) Day
naṭwī
نَطْوِى
We will fold
l-samāa
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
the heaven
kaṭayyi
كَطَىِّ
like (the) folding
l-sijili
ٱلسِّجِلِّ
(of) a scroll
lil'kutubi
لِلْكُتُبِۚ
for records
kamā
كَمَا
As
badanā
بَدَأْنَآ
We began
awwala
أَوَّلَ
(the) first
khalqin
خَلْقٍ
creation
nuʿīduhu
نُّعِيدُهُۥۚ
We will repeat it
waʿdan
وَعْدًا
a promise
ʿalaynā
عَلَيْنَآۚ
upon Us
innā
إِنَّا
Indeed We -
kunnā
كُنَّا
We are
fāʿilīna
فَٰعِلِينَ
(the) Doers
The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 104)
Tafsir
105

وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى الزَّبُوْرِ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ اَنَّ الْاَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصّٰلِحُوْنَ ١٠٥

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And verily
katabnā
كَتَبْنَا
We have written
فِى
in
l-zabūri
ٱلزَّبُورِ
the Scripture
min
مِنۢ
after
baʿdi
بَعْدِ
after
l-dhik'ri
ٱلذِّكْرِ
the mention
anna
أَنَّ
that
l-arḍa
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
yarithuhā
يَرِثُهَا
will inherit it
ʿibādiya
عِبَادِىَ
My slaves
l-ṣāliḥūna
ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ
the righteous
And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 105)
Tafsir
106

اِنَّ فِيْ هٰذَا لَبَلٰغًا لِّقَوْمٍ عٰبِدِيْنَ ۗ ١٠٦

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
hādhā
هَٰذَا
this
labalāghan
لَبَلَٰغًا
surely is a Message
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
ʿābidīna
عَٰبِدِينَ
worshippers
Indeed, in this [Quran] is notification for a worshipping people. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 106)
Tafsir
107

وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ اِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١٠٧

wamā
وَمَآ
And not
arsalnāka
أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ
We have sent you
illā
إِلَّا
but
raḥmatan
رَحْمَةً
(as) a mercy
lil'ʿālamīna
لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
for the worlds
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 107)
Tafsir
108

قُلْ اِنَّمَا يُوْحٰٓى اِلَيَّ اَنَّمَآ اِلٰهُكُمْ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌۚ فَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ ١٠٨

qul
قُلْ
Say
innamā
إِنَّمَا
"Only
yūḥā
يُوحَىٰٓ
it is revealed
ilayya
إِلَىَّ
to me
annamā
أَنَّمَآ
that
ilāhukum
إِلَٰهُكُمْ
your god
ilāhun
إِلَٰهٌ
(is) God
wāḥidun
وَٰحِدٌۖ
One;
fahal
فَهَلْ
so will
antum
أَنتُم
you
mus'limūna
مُّسْلِمُونَ
submit (to Him)?"
Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?" (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 108)
Tafsir
109

فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ اٰذَنْتُكُمْ عَلٰى سَوَاۤءٍۗ وَاِنْ اَدْرِيْٓ اَقَرِيْبٌ اَمْ بَعِيْدٌ مَّا تُوْعَدُوْنَ ١٠٩

fa-in
فَإِن
But if
tawallaw
تَوَلَّوْا۟
they turn away
faqul
فَقُلْ
then say
ādhantukum
ءَاذَنتُكُمْ
"I (have) announced to you
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
equally
sawāin
سَوَآءٍۖ
equally
wa-in
وَإِنْ
And not
adrī
أَدْرِىٓ
I know
aqarībun
أَقَرِيبٌ
whether is near
am
أَم
or
baʿīdun
بَعِيدٌ
far
مَّا
what
tūʿadūna
تُوعَدُونَ
you are promised
But if they turn away, then say, "I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 109)
Tafsir
110

اِنَّهٗ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُوْنَ ١١٠

innahu
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed He
yaʿlamu
يَعْلَمُ
knows
l-jahra
ٱلْجَهْرَ
the declared
mina
مِنَ
[of]
l-qawli
ٱلْقَوْلِ
[the] speech
wayaʿlamu
وَيَعْلَمُ
and He knows
مَا
what
taktumūna
تَكْتُمُونَ
you conceal
Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 110)
