Al-Qur'an Surah Taha Verse 101

Taha [20]: 101 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهِ ۗوَسَاۤءَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ حِمْلًاۙ (طه : ٢٠)

khālidīna
خَٰلِدِينَ
Abiding forever
fīhi
فِيهِۖ
in it
wasāa
وَسَآءَ
and evil
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
yawma
يَوْمَ
(on the) Day
l-qiyāmati
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
ḥim'lan
حِمْلًا
(as) a load

Transliteration:

Khaalideena feehi wa saaa'a lahum Yawmal Qiyaamati himlaa (QS. Ṭāʾ Hāʾ:101)

English / Sahih Translation:

[Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load – (QS. Taha, ayah 101)

all such people living under it forever. And how evil for them will be that burden on the Doomsday!

Tafsir jalalayn

therein, that is, in the chastisement for [such] sin, abiding. And evil for them on the Day of Resurrection is that burden! (himlan, a specification qualifying the person of [the verb] s'a, `evil'; the subject of derision, the implied wizruhum, `their sin', has been omitted; the lm [of lahum] is explicative and substitutes for yawma'l-qiyma, `the Day of Resurrection).

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

خَالِدِينَ فِيهِ

Whoever turns away from it, verily, they will bear a heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection. They will abide in that.

They will not be able to avoid this or escape it.

وَسَاء لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حِمْلً




And evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection
