قَالَ اٰمَنْتُمْ لَهٗ قَبْلَ اَنْ اٰذَنَ لَكُمْۗ اِنَّهٗ لَكَبِيْرُكُمُ الَّذِيْ عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَۚ فَلَاُقَطِّعَنَّ اَيْدِيَكُمْ وَاَرْجُلَكُمْ مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَّلَاُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِيْ جُذُوْعِ النَّخْلِۖ وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ اَيُّنَآ اَشَدُّ عَذَابًا وَّاَبْقٰى ٧١
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- āmantum
- ءَامَنتُمْ
- "You believe
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- [to] him
- qabla
- قَبْلَ
- before
- an
- أَنْ
- [that]
- ādhana
- ءَاذَنَ
- I gave permission
- lakum
- لَكُمْۖ
- to you
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed he
- lakabīrukumu
- لَكَبِيرُكُمُ
- (is) your chief
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- the one who
- ʿallamakumu
- عَلَّمَكُمُ
- taught you
- l-siḥ'ra
- ٱلسِّحْرَۖ
- the magic
- fala-uqaṭṭiʿanna
- فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ
- So surely I will cut off
- aydiyakum
- أَيْدِيَكُمْ
- your hands
- wa-arjulakum
- وَأَرْجُلَكُم
- and your feet
- min
- مِّنْ
- of
- khilāfin
- خِلَٰفٍ
- opposite sides
- wala-uṣallibannakum
- وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ
- and surely I will crucify you
- fī
- فِى
- on
- judhūʿi
- جُذُوعِ
- (the) trunks
- l-nakhli
- ٱلنَّخْلِ
- (of) date-palms
- walataʿlamunna
- وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ
- and surely you will know
- ayyunā
- أَيُّنَآ
- which of us
- ashaddu
- أَشَدُّ
- (is) more severe
- ʿadhāban
- عَذَابًا
- (in) punishment
- wa-abqā
- وَأَبْقَىٰ
- and more lasting"
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in [giving] punishment and more enduring." (QS. [20] Taha: 71)Tafsir
قَالُوْا لَنْ نُّؤْثِرَكَ عَلٰى مَا جَاۤءَنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنٰتِ وَالَّذِيْ فَطَرَنَا فَاقْضِ مَآ اَنْتَ قَاضٍۗ اِنَّمَا تَقْضِيْ هٰذِهِ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا ۗ ٧٢
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- lan
- لَن
- "Never
- nu'thiraka
- نُّؤْثِرَكَ
- we will prefer you
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- over
- mā
- مَا
- what
- jāanā
- جَآءَنَا
- has come to us
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-bayināti
- ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
- the clear proofs
- wa-alladhī
- وَٱلَّذِى
- and the One Who
- faṭaranā
- فَطَرَنَاۖ
- created us
- fa-iq'ḍi
- فَٱقْضِ
- So decree
- mā
- مَآ
- whatever
- anta
- أَنتَ
- you
- qāḍin
- قَاضٍۖ
- (are) decreeing
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- taqḍī
- تَقْضِى
- you can decree
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- (for) this
- l-ḥayata
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
- life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَآ
- (of) the world
They said, "Never will we prefer you over what has come to us of clear proofs and [over] He who created us. So decree whatever you are to decree. You can only decree for this worldly life. (QS. [20] Taha: 72)Tafsir
اِنَّآ اٰمَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِيَغْفِرَ لَنَا خَطٰيٰنَا وَمَآ اَكْرَهْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ السِّحْرِۗ وَاللّٰهُ خَيْرٌ وَّاَبْقٰى ٧٣
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed [we]
- āmannā
- ءَامَنَّا
- we believe
- birabbinā
- بِرَبِّنَا
- in our Lord
- liyaghfira
- لِيَغْفِرَ
- that He may forgive
- lanā
- لَنَا
- for us
- khaṭāyānā
- خَطَٰيَٰنَا
- our sins
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and what
- akrahtanā
- أَكْرَهْتَنَا
- you compelled us
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- on it
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-siḥ'ri
- ٱلسِّحْرِۗ
- the magic
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) Best
- wa-abqā
- وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
- and Ever Lasting"
Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us [to do] of magic. And Allah is better and more enduring." (QS. [20] Taha: 73)Tafsir
اِنَّهٗ مَنْ يَّأْتِ رَبَّهٗ مُجْرِمًا فَاِنَّ لَهٗ جَهَنَّمَ ۗ لَا يَمُوْتُ فِيْهَا وَلَا يَحْيٰى ٧٤
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed he
- man
- مَن
- who
- yati
- يَأْتِ
- comes
- rabbahu
- رَبَّهُۥ
- (to) his Lord
- muj'riman
- مُجْرِمًا
- (as) a criminal
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for him
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (is) Hell
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- yamūtu
- يَمُوتُ
- he will die
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in it
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yaḥyā
- يَحْيَىٰ
- live
Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal – indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live. (QS. [20] Taha: 74)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يَّأْتِهٖ مُؤْمِنًا قَدْ عَمِلَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمُ الدَّرَجٰتُ الْعُلٰى ۙ ٧٥
- waman
- وَمَن
- But whoever
- yatihi
- يَأْتِهِۦ
- comes to Him
- mu'minan
- مُؤْمِنًا
- (as) a believer
- qad
- قَدْ
- verily
- ʿamila
- عَمِلَ
- he has done
- l-ṣāliḥāti
- ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
- the righteous deeds
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- for them
- l-darajātu
- ٱلدَّرَجَٰتُ
- (will be) the ranks
- l-ʿulā
- ٱلْعُلَىٰ
- [the] high
But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds – for those will be the highest degrees [in position]: (QS. [20] Taha: 75)Tafsir
جَنّٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ۗوَذٰلِكَ جَزٰۤؤُا مَنْ تَزَكّٰى ࣖ ٧٦
- jannātu
- جَنَّٰتُ
- Gardens
- ʿadnin
- عَدْنٍ
- (of) Eden
- tajrī
- تَجْرِى
- flows
- min
- مِن
- from
- taḥtihā
- تَحْتِهَا
- underneath them
- l-anhāru
- ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
- the rivers
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- abiding forever
- fīhā
- فِيهَاۚ
- in it
- wadhālika
- وَذَٰلِكَ
- And that
- jazāu
- جَزَآءُ
- (is) the reward
- man
- مَن
- (for him) who
- tazakkā
- تَزَكَّىٰ
- purifies himself
Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself. (QS. [20] Taha: 76)Tafsir
وَلَقَدْ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسٰٓى اَنْ اَسْرِ بِعِبَادِيْ فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيْقًا فِى الْبَحْرِ يَبَسًاۙ لَّا تَخٰفُ دَرَكًا وَّلَا تَخْشٰى ٧٧
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And verily
- awḥaynā
- أَوْحَيْنَآ
- We inspired
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰٓ
- Musa
- an
- أَنْ
- that
- asri
- أَسْرِ
- "Travel by night
- biʿibādī
- بِعِبَادِى
- with My slaves
- fa-iḍ'rib
- فَٱضْرِبْ
- and strike
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- ṭarīqan
- طَرِيقًا
- a path
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-baḥri
- ٱلْبَحْرِ
- the sea
- yabasan
- يَبَسًا
- dry;
- lā
- لَّا
- not
- takhāfu
- تَخَٰفُ
- fearing
- darakan
- دَرَكًا
- to be overtaken
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- takhshā
- تَخْشَىٰ
- being afraid"
And We had inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Pharaoh] nor be afraid [of drowning]." (QS. [20] Taha: 77)Tafsir
فَاَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُوْدِهٖ فَغَشِيَهُمْ مِّنَ الْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ ۗ ٧٨
- fa-atbaʿahum
- فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ
- Then followed them
- fir'ʿawnu
- فِرْعَوْنُ
- Firaun
- bijunūdihi
- بِجُنُودِهِۦ
- with his forces
- faghashiyahum
- فَغَشِيَهُم
- but covered them
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-yami
- ٱلْيَمِّ
- the sea
- mā
- مَا
- what
- ghashiyahum
- غَشِيَهُمْ
- covered them
So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and there covered them from the sea that which covered them, (QS. [20] Taha: 78)Tafsir
وَاَضَلَّ فِرْعَوْنُ قَوْمَهٗ وَمَا هَدٰى ٧٩
- wa-aḍalla
- وَأَضَلَّ
- And led astray
- fir'ʿawnu
- فِرْعَوْنُ
- Firaun
- qawmahu
- قَوْمَهُۥ
- his people
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and (did) not
- hadā
- هَدَىٰ
- guide them
And Pharaoh led his people astray and did not guide [them]. (QS. [20] Taha: 79)Tafsir
يٰبَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ قَدْ اَنْجَيْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَوٰعَدْنٰكُمْ جَانِبَ الطُّوْرِ الْاَيْمَنَ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوٰى ٨٠
- yābanī
- يَٰبَنِىٓ
- O Children of Israel!
- is'rāīla
- إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
- O Children of Israel!
- qad
- قَدْ
- Verily
- anjaynākum
- أَنجَيْنَٰكُم
- We delivered you
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ʿaduwwikum
- عَدُوِّكُمْ
- your enemy
- wawāʿadnākum
- وَوَٰعَدْنَٰكُمْ
- and We made a covenant with you
- jāniba
- جَانِبَ
- on (the) side
- l-ṭūri
- ٱلطُّورِ
- (of) the Mount
- l-aymana
- ٱلْأَيْمَنَ
- the right
- wanazzalnā
- وَنَزَّلْنَا
- and We sent down
- ʿalaykumu
- عَلَيْكُمُ
- to you
- l-mana
- ٱلْمَنَّ
- the Manna
- wal-salwā
- وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ
- and the quails
O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails, (QS. [20] Taha: 80)Tafsir
