131
وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ اِلٰى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهٖٓ اَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا ەۙ لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيْهِ ۗوَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَّاَبْقٰى ١٣١
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tamuddanna
- تَمُدَّنَّ
- extend
- ʿaynayka
- عَيْنَيْكَ
- your eyes
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- towards
- mā
- مَا
- what
- mattaʿnā
- مَتَّعْنَا
- We have given for enjoyment
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓ
- [with it]
- azwājan
- أَزْوَٰجًا
- pairs
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- of them
- zahrata
- زَهْرَةَ
- (the) splendor
- l-ḥayati
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
- (of) the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- linaftinahum
- لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ
- that We may test them
- fīhi
- فِيهِۚ
- in it
- wariz'qu
- وَرِزْقُ
- And (the) provision
- rabbika
- رَبِّكَ
- (of) your Lord
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- wa-abqā
- وَأَبْقَىٰ
- and more lasting
And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring. (QS. [20] Taha: 131)Tafsir
132
وَأْمُرْ اَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلٰوةِ وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَاۗ لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًاۗ نَحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَۗ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوٰى ١٣٢
- wamur
- وَأْمُرْ
- And enjoin
- ahlaka
- أَهْلَكَ
- (on) your family
- bil-ṣalati
- بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
- the prayer
- wa-iṣ'ṭabir
- وَٱصْطَبِرْ
- and be steadfast
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَاۖ
- therein
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- nasaluka
- نَسْـَٔلُكَ
- We ask you
- riz'qan
- رِزْقًاۖ
- (for) provision;
- naḥnu
- نَّحْنُ
- We
- narzuquka
- نَرْزُقُكَۗ
- provide (for) you
- wal-ʿāqibatu
- وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ
- and the outcome
- lilttaqwā
- لِلتَّقْوَىٰ
- (is) for the righteous[ness]
And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness. (QS. [20] Taha: 132)Tafsir
133
وَقَالُوْا لَوْلَا يَأْتِيْنَا بِاٰيَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖۗ اَوَلَمْ تَأْتِهِمْ بَيِّنَةُ مَا فِى الصُّحُفِ الْاُولٰى ١٣٣
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوا۟
- And they say
- lawlā
- لَوْلَا
- "Why not
- yatīnā
- يَأْتِينَا
- he brings us
- biāyatin
- بِـَٔايَةٍ
- a sign
- min
- مِّن
- from
- rabbihi
- رَّبِّهِۦٓۚ
- his Lord?"
- awalam
- أَوَلَمْ
- Has not
- tatihim
- تَأْتِهِم
- come to them
- bayyinatu
- بَيِّنَةُ
- evidence
- mā
- مَا
- (of) what
- fī
- فِى
- (was) in
- l-ṣuḥufi
- ٱلصُّحُفِ
- the Scriptures
- l-ūlā
- ٱلْأُولَىٰ
- the former?
And they say, "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures? (QS. [20] Taha: 133)Tafsir
134
وَلَوْ اَنَّآ اَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِهٖ لَقَالُوْا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَآ اَرْسَلْتَ اِلَيْنَا رَسُوْلًا فَنَتَّبِعَ اٰيٰتِكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ نَّذِلَّ وَنَخْزٰى ١٣٤
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- annā
- أَنَّآ
- We
- ahlaknāhum
- أَهْلَكْنَٰهُم
- (had) destroyed them
- biʿadhābin
- بِعَذَابٍ
- with a punishment
- min
- مِّن
- before him
- qablihi
- قَبْلِهِۦ
- before him
- laqālū
- لَقَالُوا۟
- surely they (would) have said
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- "Our Lord
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- why not
- arsalta
- أَرْسَلْتَ
- You sent
- ilaynā
- إِلَيْنَا
- to us
- rasūlan
- رَسُولًا
- a Messenger
- fanattabiʿa
- فَنَتَّبِعَ
- so we (could) have followed
- āyātika
- ءَايَٰتِكَ
- Your signs
- min
- مِن
- before
- qabli
- قَبْلِ
- before
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- nadhilla
- نَّذِلَّ
- we were humiliated
- wanakhzā
- وَنَخْزَىٰ
- and disgraced"
And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses [i.e., teachings] before we were humiliated and disgraced?" (QS. [20] Taha: 134)Tafsir
135
قُلْ كُلٌّ مُّتَرَبِّصٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوْاۚ فَسَتَعْلَمُوْنَ مَنْ اَصْحٰبُ الصِّرَاطِ السَّوِيِّ وَمَنِ اهْتَدٰى ࣖ ۔ ١٣٥
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- kullun
- كُلٌّ
- "Each
- mutarabbiṣun
- مُّتَرَبِّصٌ
- (is) waiting;
- fatarabbaṣū
- فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ۖ
- so await
- fasataʿlamūna
- فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ
- Then you will know
- man
- مَنْ
- who
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (are the) companions
- l-ṣirāṭi
- ٱلصِّرَٰطِ
- (of) the way
- l-sawiyi
- ٱلسَّوِىِّ
- [the] even
- wamani
- وَمَنِ
- and who
- ih'tadā
- ٱهْتَدَىٰ
- is guided"
Say, "Each [of us] is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided." (QS. [20] Taha: 135)Tafsir
