Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 101
Al-Baqarah [2]: 101 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَۙ كِتٰبَ اللّٰهِ وَرَاۤءَ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَۖ (البقرة : ٢)

Transliteration:
Wa lammaa jaaa'ahum Rasoolum min 'indil laahi musaddiqul limaa ma'ahum nabaza fareequm minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba Kitaabal laahi waraaa'a zuhoorihim ka annahum laa ya'lamoon(QS. al-Baq̈arah:101)
English / Sahih Translation:
And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah [i.e., the Torah] behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained]. (QS. Al-Baqarah, ayah 101)

When (finally) there has come to them a Messenger from God, confirming what (of the truth) they already possess, a party of those who were given the Book (the Torah) have (instead of paying heed to what it contains concerning the Last Messenger) flung the Book of God (the Qur’an) behind their backs, as if they did not know (that it is a Book from God and that the Messenger who has brought it is the Last Prophet they have been anticipating.)

Tafsir jalalayn
When there came to them a messenger from God, namely, Muhammad (s), confirming what was with them, a party of them who were given the Scripture have cast away the Scripture of God, that is, the Torah, behind their backs, that is to say, they have not acted according to what it said about belief in the Messenger and otherwise; as though they did not know, what is contained in it, to the effect that he is a true Prophet, or that it is the Book of God.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
And when there came to them a Messenger from Allah (i.e. Muhammad) confirming what was with them, a party of those who were given the Scripture threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know!
As-Suddi commented on,
وَلَمَّا جَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ
(And when there came to them a Messenger from Allah (i.e. Muhammad) confirming what was with them),
"When Muhammad came to them, they wanted to contradict and dispute with him using the Tawrah. However, the Tawrah and the Qur'an affirmed each other. So the Jews gave up on using the Torah, and took to the Book of Asaf, and the magic of Harut and Marut, which indeed did not conform to the Qur'an.
Hence Allah's statement,
كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
(As if they did not know!)."
Also, Qatadah said that Allah's statement,
كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
(As if they did not know!) means,
"They knew the truth but abandoned it, hid it and denied the fact that they even had it."
