اِنْ تُبْدُوا الصَّدَقٰتِ فَنِعِمَّا هِيَۚ وَاِنْ تُخْفُوْهَا وَتُؤْتُوْهَا الْفُقَرَاۤءَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَيُكَفِّرُ عَنْكُمْ مِّنْ سَيِّاٰتِكُمْ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ ٢٧١
- in
- إِن
- If
- tub'dū
- تُبْدُوا۟
- you disclose
- l-ṣadaqāti
- ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ
- the charities
- faniʿimmā
- فَنِعِمَّا
- then well
- hiya
- هِىَۖ
- it (is)
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- But if
- tukh'fūhā
- تُخْفُوهَا
- you keep it secret
- watu'tūhā
- وَتُؤْتُوهَا
- and give it
- l-fuqarāa
- ٱلْفُقَرَآءَ
- (to) the poor
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- then it
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- lakum
- لَّكُمْۚ
- for you
- wayukaffiru
- وَيُكَفِّرُ
- And He will remove
- ʿankum
- عَنكُم
- from you
- min
- مِّن
- [of]
- sayyiātikum
- سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْۗ
- your evil deeds
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- bimā
- بِمَا
- with what
- taʿmalūna
- تَعْمَلُونَ
- you do
- khabīrun
- خَبِيرٌ
- (is) All-Aware
If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you, and He will remove from you some of your misdeeds [thereby]. And Allah, of what you do, is [fully] Aware. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 271)Tafsir
۞ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ هُدٰىهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَهْدِيْ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۗوَمَا تُنْفِقُوْا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلِاَنْفُسِكُمْ ۗوَمَا تُنْفِقُوْنَ اِلَّا ابْتِغَاۤءَ وَجْهِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَمَا تُنْفِقُوْا مِنْ خَيْرٍ يُّوَفَّ اِلَيْكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُوْنَ ٢٧٢
- laysa
- لَّيْسَ
- Not
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَ
- on you
- hudāhum
- هُدَىٰهُمْ
- (is) their guidance
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- [and] but
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- guides
- man
- مَن
- whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُۗ
- He wills
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And whatever
- tunfiqū
- تُنفِقُوا۟
- you spend
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- khayrin
- خَيْرٍ
- good
- fali-anfusikum
- فَلِأَنفُسِكُمْۚ
- then it is for yourself
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- tunfiqūna
- تُنفِقُونَ
- you spend
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- ib'tighāa
- ٱبْتِغَآءَ
- seeking
- wajhi
- وَجْهِ
- (the) face
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And whatever
- tunfiqū
- تُنفِقُوا۟
- you spend
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- khayrin
- خَيْرٍ
- good
- yuwaffa
- يُوَفَّ
- will be repaid in full
- ilaykum
- إِلَيْكُمْ
- to you
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- and you
- lā
- لَا
- (will) not
- tuẓ'lamūna
- تُظْلَمُونَ
- be wronged
Not upon you, [O Muhammad], is [responsibility for] their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. And whatever good you [believers] spend is for yourselves, and you do not spend except seeking the face [i.e., approval] of Allah. And whatever you spend of good – it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 272)Tafsir
لِلْفُقَرَاۤءِ الَّذِيْنَ اُحْصِرُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ ضَرْبًا فِى الْاَرْضِۖ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ اَغْنِيَاۤءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِۚ تَعْرِفُهُمْ بِسِيْمٰهُمْۚ لَا يَسْـَٔلُوْنَ النَّاسَ اِلْحَافًا ۗوَمَا تُنْفِقُوْا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِهٖ عَلِيْمٌ ࣖ ٢٧٣
- lil'fuqarāi
- لِلْفُقَرَآءِ
- For the poor
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- uḥ'ṣirū
- أُحْصِرُوا۟
- are wrapped up
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yastaṭīʿūna
- يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
- they are able
- ḍarban
- ضَرْبًا
- (to) move about
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- yaḥsabuhumu
- يَحْسَبُهُمُ
- Think (about) them
- l-jāhilu
- ٱلْجَاهِلُ
- the ignorant one
- aghniyāa
- أَغْنِيَآءَ
- (that they are) self-sufficient
- mina
- مِنَ
- (because) of
- l-taʿafufi
- ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ
- (their) restraint
- taʿrifuhum
- تَعْرِفُهُم
- you recognize them
- bisīmāhum
- بِسِيمَٰهُمْ
- by their mark
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- yasalūna
- يَسْـَٔلُونَ
- (do) they ask
- l-nāsa
- ٱلنَّاسَ
- the people
- il'ḥāfan
- إِلْحَافًاۗ
- with importunity
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And whatever
- tunfiqū
- تُنفِقُوا۟
- you spend
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- khayrin
- خَيْرٍ
- good
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- of it
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower
[Charity is] for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah, unable to move about in the land. An ignorant [person] would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their [characteristic] sign. They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. And whatever you spend of good – indeed, Allah is Knowing of it. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 273)Tafsir
اَلَّذِيْنَ يُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَهُمْ بِالَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرًّا وَّعَلَانِيَةً فَلَهُمْ اَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْۚ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَ ٢٧٤
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those who
- yunfiqūna
- يُنفِقُونَ
- spend
- amwālahum
- أَمْوَٰلَهُم
- their wealth
- bi-al-layli
- بِٱلَّيْلِ
- by night
- wal-nahāri
- وَٱلنَّهَارِ
- and day
- sirran
- سِرًّا
- secretly
- waʿalāniyatan
- وَعَلَانِيَةً
- and openly
- falahum
- فَلَهُمْ
- then for them
- ajruhum
- أَجْرُهُمْ
- (is) their reward
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- with
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- walā
- وَلَا
- and no
- khawfun
- خَوْفٌ
- fear
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- on them
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- yaḥzanūna
- يَحْزَنُونَ
- will grieve
Those who spend their wealth [in Allah's way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 274)Tafsir
اَلَّذِيْنَ يَأْكُلُوْنَ الرِّبٰوا لَا يَقُوْمُوْنَ اِلَّا كَمَا يَقُوْمُ الَّذِيْ يَتَخَبَّطُهُ الشَّيْطٰنُ مِنَ الْمَسِّۗ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّمَا الْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ الرِّبٰواۘ وَاَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ الْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ الرِّبٰواۗ فَمَنْ جَاۤءَهٗ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ فَانْتَهٰى فَلَهٗ مَا سَلَفَۗ وَاَمْرُهٗٓ اِلَى اللّٰهِ ۗ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ ۚ هُمْ فِيْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ ٢٧٥
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those who
- yakulūna
- يَأْكُلُونَ
- consume
- l-riba
- ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟
- [the] usury
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yaqūmūna
- يَقُومُونَ
- they can stand
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- kamā
- كَمَا
- like
- yaqūmu
- يَقُومُ
- stands
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- the one who
- yatakhabbaṭuhu
- يَتَخَبَّطُهُ
- confounds him
- l-shayṭānu
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
- the Shaitaan
- mina
- مِنَ
- with
- l-masi
- ٱلْمَسِّۚ
- (his) touch
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- bi-annahum
- بِأَنَّهُمْ
- (is) because they
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- say
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- "Only
- l-bayʿu
- ٱلْبَيْعُ
- the trade
- mith'lu
- مِثْلُ
- (is) like
- l-riba
- ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ۗ
- [the] usury"
- wa-aḥalla
- وَأَحَلَّ
- While has permitted
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- l-bayʿa
- ٱلْبَيْعَ
- [the] trade
- waḥarrama
- وَحَرَّمَ
- but (has) forbidden
- l-riba
- ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ۚ
- [the] usury
- faman
- فَمَن
- Then whoever
- jāahu
- جَآءَهُۥ
- comes to him
- mawʿiẓatun
- مَوْعِظَةٌ
- (the) admonition
- min
- مِّن
- from
- rabbihi
- رَّبِّهِۦ
- His Lord
- fa-intahā
- فَٱنتَهَىٰ
- and he refrained
- falahu
- فَلَهُۥ
- then for him
- mā
- مَا
- what
- salafa
- سَلَفَ
- (has) passed
- wa-amruhu
- وَأَمْرُهُۥٓ
- and his case
- ilā
- إِلَى
- (is) with
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah
- waman
- وَمَنْ
- and whoever
- ʿāda
- عَادَ
- repeated
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (are the) companions
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِۖ
- (of) the Fire
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in it
- khālidūna
- خَٰلِدُونَ
- will abide forever
Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity. That is because they say, "Trade is [just] like interest." But Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest. So whoever has received an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with Allah. But whoever returns [to dealing in interest or usury] – those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 275)Tafsir
يَمْحَقُ اللّٰهُ الرِّبٰوا وَيُرْبِى الصَّدَقٰتِ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ اَثِيْمٍ ٢٧٦
- yamḥaqu
- يَمْحَقُ
- Destroys
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- l-riba
- ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟
- the usury
- wayur'bī
- وَيُرْبِى
- and (gives) increase
- l-ṣadaqāti
- ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِۗ
- (for) the charities
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- love
- kulla
- كُلَّ
- every
- kaffārin
- كَفَّارٍ
- ungrateful
- athīmin
- أَثِيمٍ
- sinner
Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 276)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَاَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَوُا الزَّكٰوةَ لَهُمْ اَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْۚ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَ ٢٧٧
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe[d]
- waʿamilū
- وَعَمِلُوا۟
- and did
- l-ṣāliḥāti
- ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
- good deeds
- wa-aqāmū
- وَأَقَامُوا۟
- and established
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- waātawū
- وَءَاتَوُا۟
- and gave
- l-zakata
- ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
- the zakah
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them -
- ajruhum
- أَجْرُهُمْ
- their reward
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- (is) with
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- walā
- وَلَا
- and no
- khawfun
- خَوْفٌ
- fear
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- on them
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- yaḥzanūna
- يَحْزَنُونَ
- will grieve
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give Zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 277)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَذَرُوْا مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الرِّبٰوٓا اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ٢٧٨
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe[d]!
- ittaqū
- ٱتَّقُوا۟
- Fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- wadharū
- وَذَرُوا۟
- and give up
- mā
- مَا
- what
- baqiya
- بَقِىَ
- remained
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-riba
- ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟
- [the] usury
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you are
- mu'minīna
- مُّؤْمِنِينَ
- believers
O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 278)Tafsir
فَاِنْ لَّمْ تَفْعَلُوْا فَأْذَنُوْا بِحَرْبٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖۚ وَاِنْ تُبْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ رُءُوْسُ اَمْوَالِكُمْۚ لَا تَظْلِمُوْنَ وَلَا تُظْلَمُوْنَ ٢٧٩
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- And if
- lam
- لَّمْ
- not
- tafʿalū
- تَفْعَلُوا۟
- you do
- fadhanū
- فَأْذَنُوا۟
- then be informed
- biḥarbin
- بِحَرْبٍ
- of a war
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- warasūlihi
- وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ
- and His Messenger
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- tub'tum
- تُبْتُمْ
- you repent
- falakum
- فَلَكُمْ
- then for you
- ruūsu
- رُءُوسُ
- (is)
- amwālikum
- أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ
- your capital
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- taẓlimūna
- تَظْلِمُونَ
- wrong
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- tuẓ'lamūna
- تُظْلَمُونَ
- you will be wronged
And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 279)Tafsir
وَاِنْ كَانَ ذُوْ عُسْرَةٍ فَنَظِرَةٌ اِلٰى مَيْسَرَةٍ ۗ وَاَنْ تَصَدَّقُوْا خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ٢٨٠
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- dhū
- ذُو
- the (debtor)
- ʿus'ratin
- عُسْرَةٍ
- in difficulty
- fanaẓiratun
- فَنَظِرَةٌ
- then postponement
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- until
- maysaratin
- مَيْسَرَةٍۚ
- ease
- wa-an
- وَأَن
- And if
- taṣaddaqū
- تَصَدَّقُوا۟
- you remit as charity
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (it is) better
- lakum
- لَّكُمْۖ
- for you
- in
- إِن
- If
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you
- taʿlamūna
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- know
And if someone is in hardship, then [let there be] postponement until [a time of] ease. But if you give [from your right as] charity, then it is better for you, if you only knew. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 280)Tafsir
