اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰتَيْنٰهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ يَتْلُوْنَهٗ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهٖۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ ۗ وَمَنْ يَّكْفُرْ بِهٖ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ ࣖ ١٢١
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those
- ātaynāhumu
- ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ
- We have given them
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- yatlūnahu
- يَتْلُونَهُۥ
- recite it
- ḥaqqa
- حَقَّ
- (as it has the) right
- tilāwatihi
- تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ
- (of) its recitation
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those (people)
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- believe
- bihi
- بِهِۦۗ
- in it
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yakfur
- يَكْفُرْ
- disbelieves
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- in it
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-khāsirūna
- ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
- (are) the losers
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. And whoever disbelieves in it – it is they who are the losers. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 121)Tafsir
يٰبَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ اذْكُرُوْا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِيْٓ اَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَاَنِّيْ فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١٢٢
- yābanī
- يَٰبَنِىٓ
- O Children
- is'rāīla
- إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
- (of) Israel!
- udh'kurū
- ٱذْكُرُوا۟
- Remember
- niʿ'matiya
- نِعْمَتِىَ
- My Favor
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِىٓ
- which
- anʿamtu
- أَنْعَمْتُ
- I bestowed
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُمْ
- upon you
- wa-annī
- وَأَنِّى
- and that I
- faḍḍaltukum
- فَضَّلْتُكُمْ
- [I] preferred you
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- over
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- the worlds
O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over the worlds. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 122)Tafsir
وَاتَّقُوْا يَوْمًا لَّا تَجْزِيْ نَفْسٌ عَنْ نَّفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَّلَا تَنْفَعُهَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَّلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُوْنَ ١٢٣
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- And fear
- yawman
- يَوْمًا
- a day
- lā
- لَّا
- not
- tajzī
- تَجْزِى
- will avail
- nafsun
- نَفْسٌ
- a soul
- ʿan
- عَن
- (of)
- nafsin
- نَّفْسٍ
- (another) soul
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔا
- anything
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yuq'balu
- يُقْبَلُ
- will be accepted
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- from it
- ʿadlun
- عَدْلٌ
- any compensation
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- tanfaʿuhā
- تَنفَعُهَا
- will benefit it
- shafāʿatun
- شَفَٰعَةٌ
- any intercession
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- yunṣarūna
- يُنصَرُونَ
- will be helped
And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, and no compensation will be accepted from it, nor will any intercession benefit it, nor will they be aided. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 123)Tafsir
۞ وَاِذِ ابْتَلٰٓى اِبْرٰهٖمَ رَبُّهٗ بِكَلِمٰتٍ فَاَتَمَّهُنَّ ۗ قَالَ اِنِّيْ جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ اِمَامًا ۗ قَالَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِيْ ۗ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِى الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ١٢٤
- wa-idhi
- وَإِذِ
- And when
- ib'talā
- ٱبْتَلَىٰٓ
- tried
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ
- Ibrahim
- rabbuhu
- رَبُّهُۥ
- his Lord
- bikalimātin
- بِكَلِمَٰتٍ
- with words
- fa-atammahunna
- فَأَتَمَّهُنَّۖ
- and he fulfilled them
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- innī
- إِنِّى
- "Indeed I
- jāʿiluka
- جَاعِلُكَ
- (am) the One to make you
- lilnnāsi
- لِلنَّاسِ
- for the mankind
- imāman
- إِمَامًاۖ
- a leader"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- wamin
- وَمِن
- "And from
- dhurriyyatī
- ذُرِّيَّتِىۖ
- my offspring?"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- lā
- لَا
- "(Does) not
- yanālu
- يَنَالُ
- reach
- ʿahdī
- عَهْدِى
- My Covenant
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- (to) the wrongdoers"
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with words [i.e., commands] and he fulfilled them. [Allah] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [Allah] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 124)Tafsir
وَاِذْ جَعَلْنَا الْبَيْتَ مَثَابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَاَمْنًاۗ وَاتَّخِذُوْا مِنْ مَّقَامِ اِبْرٰهٖمَ مُصَلًّىۗ وَعَهِدْنَآ اِلٰٓى اِبْرٰهٖمَ وَاِسْمٰعِيْلَ اَنْ طَهِّرَا بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّاۤىِٕفِيْنَ وَالْعٰكِفِيْنَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُوْدِ ١٢٥
- wa-idh
- وَإِذْ
- And when
- jaʿalnā
- جَعَلْنَا
- We made
- l-bayta
- ٱلْبَيْتَ
- the House
- mathābatan
- مَثَابَةً
- a place of return
- lilnnāsi
- لِّلنَّاسِ
- for mankind
- wa-amnan
- وَأَمْنًا
- and (a place of) security
- wa-ittakhidhū
- وَٱتَّخِذُوا۟
- and (said) Take
- min
- مِن
- [from]
- maqāmi
- مَّقَامِ
- (the) standing place
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ
- (of) Ibrahim
- muṣallan
- مُصَلًّىۖ
- (as) a place of prayer"
- waʿahid'nā
- وَعَهِدْنَآ
- And We made a covenant
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- with
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ
- Ibrahim
- wa-is'māʿīla
- وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ
- and Ismail
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- ṭahhirā
- طَهِّرَا
- "[You both] purify
- baytiya
- بَيْتِىَ
- My House
- lilṭṭāifīna
- لِلطَّآئِفِينَ
- for those who circumambulate
- wal-ʿākifīna
- وَٱلْعَٰكِفِينَ
- and those who seclude themselves for devotion and prayer
- wal-rukaʿi
- وَٱلرُّكَّعِ
- and those who bow down
- l-sujūdi
- ٱلسُّجُودِ
- and those who prostrate
And [mention] when We made the House [i.e., the Ka’bah] a place of return for the people and [a place of] security. And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. And We charged Abraham and Ishmael, [saying], "Purify My House for those who perform ‹Tawaf and those who are staying [there] for worship and those who bow and prostrate [in prayer]." (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 125)Tafsir
وَاِذْ قَالَ اِبْرٰهٖمُ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هٰذَا بَلَدًا اٰمِنًا وَّارْزُقْ اَهْلَهٗ مِنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ مَنْ اٰمَنَ مِنْهُمْ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِۗ قَالَ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَاُمَتِّعُهٗ قَلِيْلًا ثُمَّ اَضْطَرُّهٗٓ اِلٰى عَذَابِ النَّارِ ۗ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ ١٢٦
- wa-idh
- وَإِذْ
- And when
- qāla
- قَالَ
- said
- ib'rāhīmu
- إِبْرَٰهِۦمُ
- Ibrahim
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord
- ij'ʿal
- ٱجْعَلْ
- make
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- baladan
- بَلَدًا
- a city
- āminan
- ءَامِنًا
- secure
- wa-ur'zuq
- وَٱرْزُقْ
- and provide
- ahlahu
- أَهْلَهُۥ
- its people
- mina
- مِنَ
- with
- l-thamarāti
- ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
- fruits
- man
- مَنْ
- (to) whoever
- āmana
- ءَامَنَ
- believed
- min'hum
- مِنْهُم
- from them
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wal-yawmi
- وَٱلْيَوْمِ
- and the Day
- l-ākhiri
- ٱلْءَاخِرِۖ
- the Last"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- waman
- وَمَن
- "And whoever
- kafara
- كَفَرَ
- disbelieved
- fa-umattiʿuhu
- فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ
- [then] I will grant him enjoyment
- qalīlan
- قَلِيلًا
- a little;
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- aḍṭarruhu
- أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ
- I will force him
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- ʿadhābi
- عَذَابِ
- (the) punishment
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِۖ
- (of) the Fire
- wabi'sa
- وَبِئْسَ
- and evil
- l-maṣīru
- ٱلْمَصِيرُ
- (is) the destination
And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits – whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day." [Allah] said, "And whoever disbelieves – I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination." (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 126)Tafsir
وَاِذْ يَرْفَعُ اِبْرٰهٖمُ الْقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ وَاِسْمٰعِيْلُۗ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۗ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ١٢٧
- wa-idh
- وَإِذْ
- And when
- yarfaʿu
- يَرْفَعُ
- (was) raising
- ib'rāhīmu
- إِبْرَٰهِۦمُ
- Ibrahim
- l-qawāʿida
- ٱلْقَوَاعِدَ
- the foundations
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-bayti
- ٱلْبَيْتِ
- the House
- wa-is'māʿīlu
- وَإِسْمَٰعِيلُ
- and Ishmael
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- (saying), "Our Lord!
- taqabbal
- تَقَبَّلْ
- Accept
- minnā
- مِنَّآۖ
- from us
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- Indeed You!
- anta
- أَنتَ
- [You] (are)
- l-samīʿu
- ٱلسَّمِيعُ
- the All-Hearing
- l-ʿalīmu
- ٱلْعَلِيمُ
- the All-Knowing
And [mention] when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael, [saying], "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 127)Tafsir
رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ اُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَۖ وَاَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا ۚ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١٢٨
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- Our Lord!
- wa-ij'ʿalnā
- وَٱجْعَلْنَا
- [and] Make us
- mus'limayni
- مُسْلِمَيْنِ
- both submissive
- laka
- لَكَ
- to You
- wamin
- وَمِن
- And from
- dhurriyyatinā
- ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ
- our offspring
- ummatan
- أُمَّةً
- a community
- mus'limatan
- مُّسْلِمَةً
- submissive
- laka
- لَّكَ
- to You
- wa-arinā
- وَأَرِنَا
- And show us
- manāsikanā
- مَنَاسِكَنَا
- our ways of worship
- watub
- وَتُبْ
- and turn
- ʿalaynā
- عَلَيْنَآۖ
- to us
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- Indeed You!
- anta
- أَنتَ
- [You] (are)
- l-tawābu
- ٱلتَّوَّابُ
- the Oft-returning
- l-raḥīmu
- ٱلرَّحِيمُ
- the Most Merciful
Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites [of worship] and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 128)Tafsir
رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيْهِمْ ۗ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ࣖ ١٢٩
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- Our Lord!
- wa-ib'ʿath
- وَٱبْعَثْ
- [And] raise up
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْ
- in them
- rasūlan
- رَسُولًا
- a Messenger
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- from them
- yatlū
- يَتْلُوا۟
- (who) will recite
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- āyātika
- ءَايَٰتِكَ
- Your Verses
- wayuʿallimuhumu
- وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
- and will teach them
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- wal-ḥik'mata
- وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
- and the wisdom
- wayuzakkīhim
- وَيُزَكِّيهِمْۚ
- and purify them
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- Indeed You!
- anta
- أَنتَ
- You (are)
- l-ʿazīzu
- ٱلْعَزِيزُ
- the All-Mighty
- l-ḥakīmu
- ٱلْحَكِيمُ
- the All-Wise"
Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 129)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يَّرْغَبُ عَنْ مِّلَّةِ اِبْرٰهٖمَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَفِهَ نَفْسَهٗ ۗوَلَقَدِ اصْطَفَيْنٰهُ فِى الدُّنْيَا ۚوَاِنَّهٗ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ١٣٠
- waman
- وَمَن
- And who
- yarghabu
- يَرْغَبُ
- will turn away
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- millati
- مِّلَّةِ
- (the) religion
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ
- (of) Ibrahim
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- man
- مَن
- who
- safiha
- سَفِهَ
- fooled
- nafsahu
- نَفْسَهُۥۚ
- himself?
- walaqadi
- وَلَقَدِ
- And indeed
- iṣ'ṭafaynāhu
- ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ
- We chose him
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَاۖ
- the world
- wa-innahu
- وَإِنَّهُۥ
- and indeed he
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-ākhirati
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- the Hereafter
- lamina
- لَمِنَ
- surely (will be) among
- l-ṣāliḥīna
- ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
- the righteous
And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous. (QS. [2] Al-Baqarah: 130)Tafsir
