Al-Qur'an Surah Maryam Verse 97
Maryam [19]: 97 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَاِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ وَتُنْذِرَ بِهٖ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا (مريم : ١٩)
- fa-innamā
- فَإِنَّمَا
- So only
- yassarnāhu
- يَسَّرْنَٰهُ
- We (have) made it easy
- bilisānika
- بِلِسَانِكَ
- in your tongue
- litubashira
- لِتُبَشِّرَ
- that you may give glad tidings
- bihi
- بِهِ
- with it
- l-mutaqīna
- ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
- (to) the righteous
- watundhira
- وَتُنذِرَ
- and warn
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with it
- qawman
- قَوْمًا
- a people
- luddan
- لُّدًّا
- hostile
Transliteration:
Fa innamaa yassarnaahu bilisaanika litubashshira bihil muttaqeena wa tunzira bihee qawmal luddaa(QS. Maryam:97)
English / Sahih Translation:
So, [O Muhammad], We have only made it [i.e., the Quran] easy in your tongue [i.e., the Arabic language] that you may give good tidings thereby to the righteous and warn thereby a hostile people. (QS. Maryam, ayah 97)

So We have made it (the Qur’ān) easy through your tongue, so that you give with it the good news to the God-fearing, and warn with it an obstinate people.

Tafsir jalalayn
Indeed We have made it easy, namely, the Qur'n, in your tongue, only that you may bear good tidings therewith to the God-fearing, those who will be prosperous because of their faith, and warn, threaten, therewith a folk [who are] contumacious (luddan, the [accusative] plural of aladd), in other words, [extremely] disputatious, [using] false arguments -- and they are the disbelievers of Mecca.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ
So, We have made this easy, (meaning the Qur'an).
بِلِسَانِكَ
in your own tongue,
This is an address to Prophet Muhammad and it means that the Qur'an is in the pure, complete and eloquent Arabic language.
لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِينَ
that you may give glad tidings to those who have Taqwa,
those who respond to Allah and believe in His Messenger,
وَتُنذِرَ بِهِ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا
and warn with it the people who are Ludda.
meaning, the people who have deviated away from the truth and are inclined towards falsehood.
