قَالَ كَذٰلِكِۚ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌۚ وَلِنَجْعَلَهٗٓ اٰيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّاۚ وَكَانَ اَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا ٢١
- qāla
 - قَالَ
 - He said
 
- kadhāliki
 - كَذَٰلِكِ
 - "Thus;
 
- qāla
 - قَالَ
 - said
 
- rabbuki
 - رَبُّكِ
 - your Lord
 
- huwa
 - هُوَ
 - It
 
- ʿalayya
 - عَلَىَّ
 - (is) for Me
 
- hayyinun
 - هَيِّنٌۖ
 - easy
 
- walinajʿalahu
 - وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ
 - and so that We will make him
 
- āyatan
 - ءَايَةً
 - a sign
 
- lilnnāsi
 - لِّلنَّاسِ
 - for the mankind
 
- waraḥmatan
 - وَرَحْمَةً
 - and a Mercy
 
- minnā
 - مِّنَّاۚ
 - from Us
 
- wakāna
 - وَكَانَ
 - And (it) is
 
- amran
 - أَمْرًا
 - a matter
 
- maqḍiyyan
 - مَّقْضِيًّا
 - decreed'
 
He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'" (QS. [19] Maryam: 21)Tafsir
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَانْتَبَذَتْ بِهٖ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا ٢٢
- faḥamalathu
 - فَحَمَلَتْهُ
 - So she conceived him
 
- fa-intabadhat
 - فَٱنتَبَذَتْ
 - and she withdrew
 
- bihi
 - بِهِۦ
 - with him
 
- makānan
 - مَكَانًا
 - (to) a place
 
- qaṣiyyan
 - قَصِيًّا
 - remote
 
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place. (QS. [19] Maryam: 22)Tafsir
فَاَجَاۤءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ اِلٰى جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِۚ قَالَتْ يٰلَيْتَنِيْ مِتُّ قَبْلَ هٰذَا وَكُنْتُ نَسْيًا مَّنْسِيًّا ٢٣
- fa-ajāahā
 - فَأَجَآءَهَا
 - Then drove her
 
- l-makhāḍu
 - ٱلْمَخَاضُ
 - the pains of childbirth
 
- ilā
 - إِلَىٰ
 - to
 
- jidh'ʿi
 - جِذْعِ
 - (the) trunk
 
- l-nakhlati
 - ٱلنَّخْلَةِ
 - (of) the date-palm
 
- qālat
 - قَالَتْ
 - She said
 
- yālaytanī
 - يَٰلَيْتَنِى
 - "O! I wish
 
- mittu
 - مِتُّ
 - I (had) died
 
- qabla
 - قَبْلَ
 - before
 
- hādhā
 - هَٰذَا
 - this
 
- wakuntu
 - وَكُنتُ
 - and I was
 
- nasyan
 - نَسْيًا
 - (in) oblivion
 
- mansiyyan
 - مَّنسِيًّا
 - forgotten"
 
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten." (QS. [19] Maryam: 23)Tafsir
فَنَادٰىهَا مِنْ تَحْتِهَآ اَلَّا تَحْزَنِيْ قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا ٢٤
- fanādāhā
 - فَنَادَىٰهَا
 - So cried to her
 
- min
 - مِن
 - from
 
- taḥtihā
 - تَحْتِهَآ
 - beneath her
 
- allā
 - أَلَّا
 - "That (do) not
 
- taḥzanī
 - تَحْزَنِى
 - grieve
 
- qad
 - قَدْ
 - verily
 
- jaʿala
 - جَعَلَ
 - (has) placed
 
- rabbuki
 - رَبُّكِ
 - your Lord
 
- taḥtaki
 - تَحْتَكِ
 - beneath you
 
- sariyyan
 - سَرِيًّا
 - a stream
 
But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. (QS. [19] Maryam: 24)Tafsir
وَهُزِّيْٓ اِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا ۖ ٢٥
- wahuzzī
 - وَهُزِّىٓ
 - And shake
 
- ilayki
 - إِلَيْكِ
 - towards you
 
- bijidh'ʿi
 - بِجِذْعِ
 - (the) trunk
 
- l-nakhlati
 - ٱلنَّخْلَةِ
 - (of) the date-palm
 
- tusāqiṭ
 - تُسَٰقِطْ
 - it will drop
 
- ʿalayki
 - عَلَيْكِ
 - upon you
 
- ruṭaban
 - رُطَبًا
 - fresh dates
 
- janiyyan
 - جَنِيًّا
 - ripe
 
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. (QS. [19] Maryam: 25)Tafsir
فَكُلِيْ وَاشْرَبِيْ وَقَرِّيْ عَيْنًا ۚفَاِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ الْبَشَرِ اَحَدًاۙ فَقُوْلِيْٓ اِنِّيْ نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ اُكَلِّمَ الْيَوْمَ اِنْسِيًّا ۚ ٢٦
- fakulī
 - فَكُلِى
 - So eat
 
- wa-ish'rabī
 - وَٱشْرَبِى
 - and drink
 
- waqarrī
 - وَقَرِّى
 - and cool
 
- ʿaynan
 - عَيْنًاۖ
 - (your) eyes
 
- fa-immā
 - فَإِمَّا
 - And if
 
- tarayinna
 - تَرَيِنَّ
 - you see
 
- mina
 - مِنَ
 - from
 
- l-bashari
 - ٱلْبَشَرِ
 - human being
 
- aḥadan
 - أَحَدًا
 - anyone
 
- faqūlī
 - فَقُولِىٓ
 - then say
 
- innī
 - إِنِّى
 - "Indeed I
 
- nadhartu
 - نَذَرْتُ
 - [I] have vowed
 
- lilrraḥmāni
 - لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ
 - to the Most Gracious
 
- ṣawman
 - صَوْمًا
 - a fast
 
- falan
 - فَلَنْ
 - so not
 
- ukallima
 - أُكَلِّمَ
 - I will speak
 
- l-yawma
 - ٱلْيَوْمَ
 - today
 
- insiyyan
 - إِنسِيًّا
 - (to any) human being"
 
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.'" (QS. [19] Maryam: 26)Tafsir
فَاَتَتْ بِهٖ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهٗ ۗقَالُوْا يٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًٔا فَرِيًّا ٢٧
- fa-atat
 - فَأَتَتْ
 - Then she came
 
- bihi
 - بِهِۦ
 - with him
 
- qawmahā
 - قَوْمَهَا
 - (to) her people
 
- taḥmiluhu
 - تَحْمِلُهُۥۖ
 - carrying him
 
- qālū
 - قَالُوا۟
 - They said
 
- yāmaryamu
 - يَٰمَرْيَمُ
 - "O Maryam!
 
- laqad
 - لَقَدْ
 - Certainly
 
- ji'ti
 - جِئْتِ
 - you (have) brought
 
- shayan
 - شَيْـًٔا
 - an amazing thing
 
- fariyyan
 - فَرِيًّا
 - an amazing thing
 
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented. (QS. [19] Maryam: 27)Tafsir
يٰٓاُخْتَ هٰرُوْنَ مَا كَانَ اَبُوْكِ امْرَاَ سَوْءٍ وَّمَا كَانَتْ اُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا ۖ ٢٨
- yāukh'ta
 - يَٰٓأُخْتَ
 - O sister
 
- hārūna
 - هَٰرُونَ
 - (of) Harun!
 
- mā
 - مَا
 - Not
 
- kāna
 - كَانَ
 - was
 
- abūki
 - أَبُوكِ
 - your father
 
- im'ra-a
 - ٱمْرَأَ
 - an evil man
 
- sawin
 - سَوْءٍ
 - an evil man
 
- wamā
 - وَمَا
 - and not
 
- kānat
 - كَانَتْ
 - was
 
- ummuki
 - أُمُّكِ
 - your mother
 
- baghiyyan
 - بَغِيًّا
 - unchaste"
 
O sister [i.e., descendant] of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste." (QS. [19] Maryam: 28)Tafsir
فَاَشَارَتْ اِلَيْهِۗ قَالُوْا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَنْ كَانَ فِى الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا ٢٩
- fa-ashārat
 - فَأَشَارَتْ
 - Then she pointed
 
- ilayhi
 - إِلَيْهِۖ
 - to him
 
- qālū
 - قَالُوا۟
 - They said
 
- kayfa
 - كَيْفَ
 - "How
 
- nukallimu
 - نُكَلِّمُ
 - (can) we speak
 
- man
 - مَن
 - (to one) who
 
- kāna
 - كَانَ
 - is
 
- fī
 - فِى
 - in
 
- l-mahdi
 - ٱلْمَهْدِ
 - the cradle
 
- ṣabiyyan
 - صَبِيًّا
 - a child?"
 
So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?" (QS. [19] Maryam: 29)Tafsir
قَالَ اِنِّيْ عَبْدُ اللّٰهِ ۗاٰتٰنِيَ الْكِتٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِيْ نَبِيًّا ۙ ٣٠
- qāla
 - قَالَ
 - He said
 
- innī
 - إِنِّى
 - "Indeed I am
 
- ʿabdu
 - عَبْدُ
 - a slave
 
- l-lahi
 - ٱللَّهِ
 - (of) Allah
 
- ātāniya
 - ءَاتَىٰنِىَ
 - He gave me
 
- l-kitāba
 - ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
 - the Scripture
 
- wajaʿalanī
 - وَجَعَلَنِى
 - and made me
 
- nabiyyan
 - نَبِيًّا
 - a Prophet
 
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. (QS. [19] Maryam: 30)Tafsir
