Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Kahf Verse 68

Al-Kahf [18]: 68 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَكَيْفَ تَصْبِرُ عَلٰى مَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهٖ خُبْرًا (الكهف : ١٨)

And how can

any knowledge"

Transliteration:

Wa kaifa tasbiru 'alaa maa lam tuhit bihee khubraa (QS. al-Kahf:68)

English / Sahih Translation:

And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?" (QS. Al-Kahf, ayah 68)

And how can you bear with that whereof you have never been informed?'; in the above-mentioned hadth [of Bukhr] after this verse [there is the following statement]; `O Moses, I possess knowledge which God has taught me and which you do not have, and [equally] you possess knowledge which God has taught you and which I do not have'. (His saying khubran, `informed', is a verbal noun meaning that which you have never encompassed, in other words, the truth of which you have never been informed of.)

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not!

`For I know that you will denounce me justifiably, but I have knowledge of Allah's wisdom and the hidden interests which I can see but you cannot.
