Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Kahf Verse 105

Al-Kahf [18]: 105 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَلِقَاۤىِٕهٖ فَحَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فَلَا نُقِيْمُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ وَزْنًا (الكهف : ١٨)

ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) the ones who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
biāyāti
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
in the Verses
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) their Lord
waliqāihi
وَلِقَآئِهِۦ
and the meeting (with) Him
faḥabiṭat
فَحَبِطَتْ
So (are) vain
aʿmāluhum
أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
their deeds
falā
فَلَا
so not
nuqīmu
نُقِيمُ
We will assign
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
yawma
يَوْمَ
(on) the Day
l-qiyāmati
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
waznan
وَزْنًا
any weight

Transliteration:

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena kafaroo bi aayaati Rabbihim wa liqaaa'ihee fahabitat a'maaluhum falaa nuqeemu lahum Yawmal Qiyaamati waznaa (QS. al-Kahf:105)

English / Sahih Translation:

Those are the ones who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and in [their] meeting Him, so their deeds have become worthless; and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any weight [i.e., importance]. (QS. Al-Kahf, ayah 105)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

Those are the ones who rejected the signs of their Lord and (the concept of) meeting with Him, so their deeds have gone to waste, and We shall assign to them no weight at all.

Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

It is they who reject the signs of their Lord and their meeting with Him, rendering their deeds void, so We will not give their deeds any weight on Judgment Day.

It is those who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and their meeting with Him; their deeds will be nullified, and We will give no weight to them on the Day of Resurrection.

They are those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord and in the meeting with Him; so of non-effect will be made their works, and We shall not allow them on the Day of Judgment any weight.

They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter); vain will be their works, nor shall We, on the Day of Judgment, give them any weight.

Abul Ala Maududi

Those are the ones who refused to believe in the revelations of their Lord and that they are bound to meet Him. Hence, all their deeds have come to naught, and We shall assign no weight to them on the Day of Resurrection.

Ahmed Ali

They are those who reject the signs of their Lord, and the meeting with Him. So their good deeds will be fruitless, and on the Day of Judgement We shall not appoint any weighing for them.

Ahmed Raza Khan

The people who disbelieved in the signs of their Lord and in the meeting with Him, therefore all their deeds are in vain –We shall therefore not establish any weighing for them on the Day of Resurrection.

Ali Quli Qarai

They are the ones who deny the signs of their Lord and encounter with Him. So their works have failed. On the Day of Resurrection We will not give them any weight.

Ali Ünal

They are those who disbelieve in the signs and Revelations of their Lord, and in the meeting with Him. Hence, their deeds have come to nothing, and on the Day of Resurrection We will not accord to them any weight.

Amatul Rahman Omar

It is these who disbelieve in and deny the Messages of Allâh and the meeting with Him. So their deeds have gone vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall assign them no weight.

English Literal

Those are those who disbelieved with their Lord`s verses/evidences and meeting Him, so their deeds failed/wasted, so We do not take care of (evaluate) for them a weight/measure (on) the Resurrection Day.

Faridul Haque

The people who disbelieved in the signs of their Lord and in the meeting with Him, therefore all their deeds are in vain –We shall therefore not establish any weighing for them on the Day of Resurrection.

Those whose effort goes astray in this world’s life, and they think that they are making good manufactures.

These are they who disbelieve in the communications of their Lord and His meeting, so their deeds become null, and therefore We will not set up a balance for them on the day of resurrection.

Those are they who disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord and in the meeting with Him. Therefor their works are vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We assign no weight to them.

Muhammad Sarwar

They have rejected the revelations of their Lord and their meeting with Him. Thus, their deeds will be made devoid of all virtue and will be of no value on the Day of Judgment.

Qaribullah & Darwish

Those are they who disbelieve the verses of their Lord and deny that they will ever meet Him their deeds have failed. On the Day of Resurrection, We shall not give any weight to them.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

"They are those who deny the Ayat of their Lord and the meeting with Him. So their works are in vain, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall assign no weight for them."

Wahiduddin Khan

They are those who deny their Lord's signs and the meeting with Him." So their works are in vain, and We shall give them no weight on the Day of Resurrection.

Talal Itani

It is they who rejected the communications of their Lord, and the encounter with Him. So their works are in vain. And on the Day of Resurrection, We will consider them of no weight.

Tafsir jalalayn

Those are they who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord, in the proofs of His Oneness, [proofs] such as the Qur'n and otherwise, and the encounter with Him', that is, and [who disbelieve] in resurrection, reckoning, reward and punishment. So their works have failed, they are invalid, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall not assign any weight to them, in other words, We shall not accord them any value.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

أُولَيِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِأيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَلِقَايِهِ

They are those who deny the Ayat of their Lord and the meeting with Him.

they denied the signs of Allah in this world, the proofs that He has established of His Oneness and of the truth of His Messengers, and they denied the Hereafter.

فَحَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ

So their works are in vain,

فَلَ نُقِيمُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَزْنًا



and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall assign no weight for them.

means, `We will not make their Balance heavy because it is empty of any goodness.'

Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said;

إِنَّهُ لَيَأْتِي الرَّجُلُ الْعَظِيمُ السَّمِينُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا يَزِنُ عِنْدَ اللهِ جَنَاحَ بَعُوضَةٍ وَقَالَ اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِيْتُمْ

فَلَ نُقِيمُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَزْنًا

A huge fat man will come forward on the Day of Resurrection and he will weigh no more than the wing of a gnat to Allah. Recite, if you wish;

and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall assign no weight for them.
