Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Isra Verse 41

Surely, We have explained things in various ways in this Qur’ān, so that they may pay heed to the advice; but it increases nothing in them except aversion.

And verily We have dispensed, We have elucidated, in this Qur'n, similitudes, promises [of reward] and threats [of retribution], so that they may remember, [that they may] be admonished, but it, that [elucidation], only increases them in aversion, to the Truth.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Allah says;

وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِي هَـذَا الْقُرْانِ

And surely, We have explained in this Qur'an,

meaning, `We have explained Our warnings so that they may remember the proof, evidence and exhortations contained therein, and be prevented from Shirk, wrongdoing and scandal.'

لِيَذَّكَّرُواْ

that they may take heed,

وَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ

but it increases them in naught,

the wrong- doers among them.

إِلاَّ نُفُورًا



save aversion.
