Al-Qur'an Surah An-Nahl Verse 99
An-Nahl [16]: 99 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
اِنَّهٗ لَيْسَ لَهٗ سُلْطٰنٌ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَلٰى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُوْنَ (النحل : ١٦)
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed he
- laysa
- لَيْسَ
- not
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for him
- sul'ṭānun
- سُلْطَٰنٌ
- (is) any authority
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- waʿalā
- وَعَلَىٰ
- and upon
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- yatawakkalūna
- يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
- they put their trust
Transliteration:
Innahoo laisa lahoo sultaanun 'alal lazeena aamanoo wa 'alaa Rabbihim yatawakkaloon(QS. an-Naḥl:99)
English / Sahih Translation:
Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord. (QS. An-Nahl, ayah 99)

Ath-Thawri said;
"He has no power to make them commit a sin they will not repent from."
Others said;
it means that he has no argument for them.
Others said it is like the Ayah;
إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
Except Your chosen servants amongst them. (15;40)
