وَاللّٰهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ فِى الرِّزْقِۚ فَمَا الَّذِيْنَ فُضِّلُوْا بِرَاۤدِّيْ رِزْقِهِمْ عَلٰى مَا مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيْهِ سَوَاۤءٌۗ اَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللّٰهِ يَجْحَدُوْنَ ٧١
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- faḍḍala
- فَضَّلَ
- has favored
- baʿḍakum
- بَعْضَكُمْ
- some of you
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- over
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍ
- others
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-riz'qi
- ٱلرِّزْقِۚ
- [the] provision
- famā
- فَمَا
- But not
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- fuḍḍilū
- فُضِّلُوا۟
- were favored
- birāddī
- بِرَآدِّى
- would hand over
- riz'qihim
- رِزْقِهِمْ
- their provision
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- mā
- مَا
- whom
- malakat
- مَلَكَتْ
- possess
- aymānuhum
- أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ
- their right hands
- fahum
- فَهُمْ
- so (that) they
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- (are) in it
- sawāon
- سَوَآءٌۚ
- equal
- afabiniʿ'mati
- أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ
- Then is it the Favor
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- of Allah
- yajḥadūna
- يَجْحَدُونَ
- they reject?
And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who were favored [i.e., given more] would not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess [i.e., slaves] so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of Allah they reject? (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 71)Tafsir
وَاللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَزْوَاجًا وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ بَنِيْنَ وَحَفَدَةً وَّرَزَقَكُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِۗ اَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللّٰهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُوْنَۙ ٧٢
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- (has) made
- lakum
- لَكُم
- for you
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- anfusikum
- أَنفُسِكُمْ
- yourselves
- azwājan
- أَزْوَٰجًا
- spouses
- wajaʿala
- وَجَعَلَ
- and has made
- lakum
- لَكُم
- for you
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- azwājikum
- أَزْوَٰجِكُم
- your spouses
- banīna
- بَنِينَ
- sons
- waḥafadatan
- وَحَفَدَةً
- and grandsons
- warazaqakum
- وَرَزَقَكُم
- and has provided for you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-ṭayibāti
- ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ
- the good things
- afabil-bāṭili
- أَفَبِٱلْبَٰطِلِ
- Then in falsehood do
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- they believe
- wabiniʿ'mati
- وَبِنِعْمَتِ
- and the Favor
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- of Allah
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- yakfurūna
- يَكْفُرُونَ
- disbelieve?
And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandchildren and has provided for you from the good things. Then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve? (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 72)Tafsir
وَيَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ ۚ ٧٣
- wayaʿbudūna
- وَيَعْبُدُونَ
- And they worship
- min
- مِن
- other than
- dūni
- دُونِ
- other than
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- mā
- مَا
- which
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yamliku
- يَمْلِكُ
- possesses
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- riz'qan
- رِزْقًا
- any provision
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- and the earth
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔا
- [anything]
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yastaṭīʿūna
- يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
- they are able
And they worship besides Allah that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 73)Tafsir
فَلَا تَضْرِبُوْا لِلّٰهِ الْاَمْثَالَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ ٧٤
- falā
- فَلَا
- So (do) not
- taḍribū
- تَضْرِبُوا۟
- put forth
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- for Allah
- l-amthāla
- ٱلْأَمْثَالَۚ
- the similitude
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yaʿlamu
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- and you
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- taʿlamūna
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- know
So do not assert similarities to Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 74)Tafsir
۞ ضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلًا عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوْكًا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلٰى شَيْءٍ وَّمَنْ رَّزَقْنٰهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَّجَهْرًاۗ هَلْ يَسْتَوٗنَ ۚ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ ۗبَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٧٥
- ḍaraba
- ضَرَبَ
- Allah sets forth
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah sets forth
- mathalan
- مَثَلًا
- the example
- ʿabdan
- عَبْدًا
- (of) a slave
- mamlūkan
- مَّمْلُوكًا
- (who is) owned
- lā
- لَّا
- not
- yaqdiru
- يَقْدِرُ
- he has power
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- anything
- waman
- وَمَن
- and (one) whom
- razaqnāhu
- رَّزَقْنَٰهُ
- We provided him
- minnā
- مِنَّا
- from Us
- riz'qan
- رِزْقًا
- a provision
- ḥasanan
- حَسَنًا
- good
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- so he
- yunfiqu
- يُنفِقُ
- spends
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- from it
- sirran
- سِرًّا
- secretly
- wajahran
- وَجَهْرًاۖ
- and publicly
- hal
- هَلْ
- Can
- yastawūna
- يَسْتَوُۥنَۚ
- they be equal?
- l-ḥamdu
- ٱلْحَمْدُ
- All praise
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِۚ
- (is) for Allah!
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- aktharuhum
- أَكْثَرُهُمْ
- but most of them
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- know
Allah presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allah! But most of them do not know. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 75)Tafsir
وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلَيْنِ اَحَدُهُمَآ اَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلٰى شَيْءٍ وَّهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلٰى مَوْلٰىهُ ۗ اَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّهْهُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ ۖهَلْ يَسْتَوِيْ هُوَۙ وَمَنْ يَّأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ࣖ ٧٦
- waḍaraba
- وَضَرَبَ
- And Allah sets forth
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- And Allah sets forth
- mathalan
- مَثَلًا
- an example
- rajulayni
- رَّجُلَيْنِ
- (of) two men
- aḥaduhumā
- أَحَدُهُمَآ
- one of them
- abkamu
- أَبْكَمُ
- (is) dumb
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yaqdiru
- يَقْدِرُ
- he has power
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- anything
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- while he
- kallun
- كَلٌّ
- (is) a burden
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- mawlāhu
- مَوْلَىٰهُ
- his master
- aynamā
- أَيْنَمَا
- Wherever
- yuwajjihhu
- يُوَجِّههُّ
- he directs him
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yati
- يَأْتِ
- he comes
- bikhayrin
- بِخَيْرٍۖ
- with any good
- hal
- هَلْ
- Is
- yastawī
- يَسْتَوِى
- equal
- huwa
- هُوَ
- he
- waman
- وَمَن
- and (the one) who
- yamuru
- يَأْمُرُ
- commands
- bil-ʿadli
- بِٱلْعَدْلِۙ
- [of] justice
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- and he
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- (is) on
- ṣirāṭin
- صِرَٰطٍ
- a path
- mus'taqīmin
- مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
- straight?
And Allah presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path? (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 76)Tafsir
وَلِلّٰهِ غَيْبُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ وَمَآ اَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ اِلَّا كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ اَوْ هُوَ اَقْرَبُۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ٧٧
- walillahi
- وَلِلَّهِ
- And to Allah (belongs)
- ghaybu
- غَيْبُ
- (the) unseen
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- and the earth
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- amru
- أَمْرُ
- (is the) matter
- l-sāʿati
- ٱلسَّاعَةِ
- (of) the Hour
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- kalamḥi
- كَلَمْحِ
- as a twinkling
- l-baṣari
- ٱلْبَصَرِ
- (of) the eye
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- huwa
- هُوَ
- it
- aqrabu
- أَقْرَبُۚ
- (is) nearer
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- thing
- qadīrun
- قَدِيرٌ
- (is) All-Powerful
And to Allah belongs the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And the command for the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 77)Tafsir
وَاللّٰهُ اَخْرَجَكُمْ مِّنْۢ بُطُوْنِ اُمَّهٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ شَيْـًٔاۙ وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْاَبْصَارَ وَالْاَفْـِٕدَةَ ۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ ٧٨
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- akhrajakum
- أَخْرَجَكُم
- brought you forth
- min
- مِّنۢ
- from
- buṭūni
- بُطُونِ
- the wombs
- ummahātikum
- أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ
- (of) your mothers
- lā
- لَا
- not
- taʿlamūna
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- knowing
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔا
- anything
- wajaʿala
- وَجَعَلَ
- and made
- lakumu
- لَكُمُ
- for you
- l-samʿa
- ٱلسَّمْعَ
- the hearing
- wal-abṣāra
- وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ
- and the sight
- wal-afidata
- وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَۙ
- and the hearts
- laʿallakum
- لَعَلَّكُمْ
- so that you may
- tashkurūna
- تَشْكُرُونَ
- give thanks
And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect] that perhaps you would be grateful. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 78)Tafsir
اَلَمْ يَرَوْا اِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرٰتٍ فِيْ جَوِّ السَّمَاۤءِ ۗمَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٧٩
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Do not
- yaraw
- يَرَوْا۟
- they see
- ilā
- إِلَى
- towards
- l-ṭayri
- ٱلطَّيْرِ
- the birds
- musakharātin
- مُسَخَّرَٰتٍ
- controlled
- fī
- فِى
- in
- jawwi
- جَوِّ
- the midst
- l-samāi
- ٱلسَّمَآءِ
- (of) the sky?
- mā
- مَا
- None
- yum'sikuhunna
- يُمْسِكُهُنَّ
- holds them up
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۗ
- Allah
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- fī
- فِى
- in
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- laāyātin
- لَءَايَٰتٍ
- (are) Signs
- liqawmin
- لِّقَوْمٍ
- for a people
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- who believe
Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 79)Tafsir
وَاللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْۢ بُيُوْتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ جُلُوْدِ الْاَنْعَامِ بُيُوْتًا تَسْتَخِفُّوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ اِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙ وَمِنْ اَصْوَافِهَا وَاَوْبَارِهَا وَاَشْعَارِهَآ اَثَاثًا وَّمَتَاعًا اِلٰى حِيْنٍ ٨٠
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- (has) made
- lakum
- لَكُم
- for you
- min
- مِّنۢ
- [from]
- buyūtikum
- بُيُوتِكُمْ
- your homes
- sakanan
- سَكَنًا
- a resting place
- wajaʿala
- وَجَعَلَ
- and made
- lakum
- لَكُم
- for you
- min
- مِّن
- from
- julūdi
- جُلُودِ
- the hides
- l-anʿāmi
- ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ
- (of) the cattle
- buyūtan
- بُيُوتًا
- tents
- tastakhiffūnahā
- تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا
- which you find light
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on) the day
- ẓaʿnikum
- ظَعْنِكُمْ
- (of) your travel
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- and the day
- iqāmatikum
- إِقَامَتِكُمْۙ
- (of) your encampment;
- wamin
- وَمِنْ
- and from
- aṣwāfihā
- أَصْوَافِهَا
- their wool
- wa-awbārihā
- وَأَوْبَارِهَا
- and their fur
- wa-ashʿārihā
- وَأَشْعَارِهَآ
- and their hair
- athāthan
- أَثَٰثًا
- (is) furnishing
- wamatāʿan
- وَمَتَٰعًا
- and a provision
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- for
- ḥīnin
- حِينٍ
- a time
And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest and made for you from the hides of the animals tents which you find light on your day of travel and your day of encampment; and from their wool, fur and hair is furnishing and enjoyment [i.e., provision] for a time. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 80)Tafsir
