اَمْوَاتٌ غَيْرُ اَحْيَاۤءٍ ۗوَمَا يَشْعُرُوْنَۙ اَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُوْنَ ࣖ ٢١
- amwātun
- أَمْوَٰتٌ
- (They are) dead
- ghayru
- غَيْرُ
- not alive
- aḥyāin
- أَحْيَآءٍۖ
- not alive
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- yashʿurūna
- يَشْعُرُونَ
- they perceive
- ayyāna
- أَيَّانَ
- when
- yub'ʿathūna
- يُبْعَثُونَ
- they will be resurrected
They are [in fact] dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 21)Tafsir
اِلٰهُكُمْ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌ ۚفَالَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ قُلُوْبُهُمْ مُّنْكِرَةٌ وَّهُمْ مُّسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ ٢٢
- ilāhukum
- إِلَٰهُكُمْ
- Your god
- ilāhun
- إِلَٰهٌ
- (is) God
- wāḥidun
- وَٰحِدٌۚ
- One
- fa-alladhīna
- فَٱلَّذِينَ
- But those who
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- believe
- bil-ākhirati
- بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- in the Hereafter
- qulūbuhum
- قُلُوبُهُم
- their hearts
- munkiratun
- مُّنكِرَةٌ
- refuse
- wahum
- وَهُم
- and they
- mus'takbirūna
- مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ
- (are) arrogant
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter – their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 22)Tafsir
لَا جَرَمَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّوْنَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُوْنَ ۗاِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْتَكْبِرِيْنَ ٢٣

- No doubt
- jarama
- جَرَمَ
- No doubt
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yaʿlamu
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yusirrūna
- يُسِرُّونَ
- they conceal
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and what
- yuʿ'linūna
- يُعْلِنُونَۚ
- they reveal
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed, He
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- love
- l-mus'takbirīna
- ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
- the arrogant ones
Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 23)Tafsir
وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ مَّاذَآ اَنْزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۙقَالُوْٓا اَسَاطِيْرُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ٢٤
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- qīla
- قِيلَ
- it is said
- lahum
- لَهُم
- to them
- mādhā
- مَّاذَآ
- "What
- anzala
- أَنزَلَ
- has your Lord sent down?
- rabbukum
- رَبُّكُمْۙ
- has your Lord sent down?
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They say
- asāṭīru
- أَسَٰطِيرُ
- "Tales
- l-awalīna
- ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
- (of) the ancient"
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" they say, "Legends of the former peoples," (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 24)Tafsir
لِيَحْمِلُوْٓا اَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَّوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۙوَمِنْ اَوْزَارِ الَّذِيْنَ يُضِلُّوْنَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ اَلَا سَاۤءَ مَا يَزِرُوْنَ ࣖ ٢٥
- liyaḥmilū
- لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟
- That they may bear
- awzārahum
- أَوْزَارَهُمْ
- their own burdens
- kāmilatan
- كَامِلَةً
- (in) full
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- on (the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۙ
- (of) the Resurrection
- wamin
- وَمِنْ
- and of
- awzāri
- أَوْزَارِ
- the burdens
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those whom
- yuḍillūnahum
- يُضِلُّونَهُم
- they misled [them]
- bighayri
- بِغَيْرِ
- without
- ʿil'min
- عِلْمٍۗ
- knowledge
- alā
- أَلَا
- Unquestionably
- sāa
- سَآءَ
- evil
- mā
- مَا
- (is) what
- yazirūna
- يَزِرُونَ
- they will bear
That they may bear their own burdens [i.e., sins] in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without [i.e., by lack of] knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 25)Tafsir
قَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَاَتَى اللّٰهُ بُنْيَانَهُمْ مِّنَ الْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّقْفُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَاَتٰىهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ٢٦
- qad
- قَدْ
- Verily
- makara
- مَكَرَ
- plotted
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- min
- مِن
- (were) before them
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْ
- (were) before them
- fa-atā
- فَأَتَى
- but Allah came
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- but Allah came
- bun'yānahum
- بُنْيَٰنَهُم
- (at) their building
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-qawāʿidi
- ٱلْقَوَاعِدِ
- the foundations
- fakharra
- فَخَرَّ
- so fell
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- upon them
- l-saqfu
- ٱلسَّقْفُ
- the roof
- min
- مِن
- from
- fawqihim
- فَوْقِهِمْ
- above them
- wa-atāhumu
- وَأَتَىٰهُمُ
- and came to them
- l-ʿadhābu
- ٱلْعَذَابُ
- the punishment
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- ḥaythu
- حَيْثُ
- where
- lā
- لَا
- they (did) not perceive
- yashʿurūna
- يَشْعُرُونَ
- they (did) not perceive
Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at [i.e., uprooted] their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 26)Tafsir
ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يُخْزِيْهِمْ وَيَقُوْلُ اَيْنَ شُرَكَاۤءِيَ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تُشَاۤقُّوْنَ فِيْهِمْ ۗقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ اِنَّ الْخِزْيَ الْيَوْمَ وَالسُّوْۤءَ عَلَى الْكٰفِرِيْنَۙ ٢٧
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on) the Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) the Resurrection
- yukh'zīhim
- يُخْزِيهِمْ
- He will disgrace them
- wayaqūlu
- وَيَقُولُ
- and say
- ayna
- أَيْنَ
- "Where
- shurakāiya
- شُرَكَآءِىَ
- (are) My partners
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those (for) whom
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- tushāqqūna
- تُشَٰٓقُّونَ
- oppose
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْۚ
- [in them]?"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Will say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ūtū
- أُوتُوا۟
- were given
- l-ʿil'ma
- ٱلْعِلْمَ
- the knowledge
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- l-khiz'ya
- ٱلْخِزْىَ
- the disgrace
- l-yawma
- ٱلْيَوْمَ
- this Day
- wal-sūa
- وَٱلسُّوٓءَ
- and evil
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- (are) upon
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers"
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers" – (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 27)Tafsir
الَّذِيْنَ تَتَوَفّٰىهُمُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ ظَالِمِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ ۖفَاَلْقَوُا السَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِنْ سُوْۤءٍ ۗبَلٰىٓ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌۢ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ٢٨
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those whom -
- tatawaffāhumu
- تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ
- take them in death
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- ẓālimī
- ظَالِمِىٓ
- (while) wronging
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْۖ
- themselves
- fa-alqawū
- فَأَلْقَوُا۟
- then they would offer
- l-salama
- ٱلسَّلَمَ
- the submission
- mā
- مَا
- "Not
- kunnā
- كُنَّا
- we were
- naʿmalu
- نَعْمَلُ
- doing
- min
- مِن
- any
- sūin
- سُوٓءٍۭۚ
- evil"
- balā
- بَلَىٰٓ
- Nay
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌۢ
- (is) All-Knower
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- taʿmalūna
- تَعْمَلُونَ
- do
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 28)Tafsir
فَادْخُلُوْٓا اَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ۗفَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِيْنَ ٢٩
- fa-ud'khulū
- فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟
- So enter
- abwāba
- أَبْوَٰبَ
- (the) gates
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (of) Hell
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- (to) abide forever
- fīhā
- فِيهَاۖ
- in it
- falabi'sa
- فَلَبِئْسَ
- Surely wretched
- mathwā
- مَثْوَى
- (is the) abode
- l-mutakabirīna
- ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
- (of) the arrogant
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 29)Tafsir
۞ وَقِيْلَ لِلَّذِيْنَ اتَّقَوْا مَاذَآ اَنْزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۗقَالُوْا خَيْرًا ۚلِلَّذِيْنَ اَحْسَنُوْا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ ۗوَلَدَارُ الْاٰخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ ۗوَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ الْمُتَّقِيْنَۙ ٣٠
- waqīla
- وَقِيلَ
- And it will be said
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- to those who
- ittaqaw
- ٱتَّقَوْا۟
- fear Allah
- mādhā
- مَاذَآ
- "What
- anzala
- أَنزَلَ
- has your Lord sent down?"
- rabbukum
- رَبُّكُمْۚ
- has your Lord sent down?"
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They will say
- khayran
- خَيْرًاۗ
- "Good"
- lilladhīna
- لِّلَّذِينَ
- For those who
- aḥsanū
- أَحْسَنُوا۟
- do good
- fī
- فِى
- in
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- this
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- world
- ḥasanatun
- حَسَنَةٌۚ
- (is) a good
- waladāru
- وَلَدَارُ
- and the home
- l-ākhirati
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- of the Hereafter
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌۚ
- (is) better
- walaniʿ'ma
- وَلَنِعْمَ
- And surely excellent
- dāru
- دَارُ
- (is) the home
- l-mutaqīna
- ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
- (of) the righteous
And it will be said to those who feared Allah, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous – (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 30)Tafsir
