121

شَاكِرًا لِّاَنْعُمِهِ ۖاجْتَبٰىهُ وَهَدٰىهُ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ١٢١

shākiran
شَاكِرًا
Thankful
li-anʿumihi
لِّأَنْعُمِهِۚ
for His favors
ij'tabāhu
ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ
He chose him
wahadāhu
وَهَدَىٰهُ
and guided him
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
ṣirāṭin
صِرَٰطٍ
the way
mus'taqīmin
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
straight
[He was] grateful for His favors. He [i.e., Allah] chose him and guided him to a straight path. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 121)
Tafsir
122

وَاٰتَيْنٰهُ فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ۗوَاِنَّهٗ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ۗ ١٢٢

waātaynāhu
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ
And We gave him
فِى
in
l-dun'yā
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the world
ḥasanatan
حَسَنَةًۖ
good
wa-innahu
وَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed he
فِى
in
l-ākhirati
ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
the Hereafter
lamina
لَمِنَ
(he) will surely (be) among
l-ṣāliḥīna
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
the righteous
And We gave him good in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 122)
Tafsir
123

ثُمَّ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلَيْكَ اَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ حَنِيْفًا ۗوَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ ١٢٣

Then
awḥaynā
أَوْحَيْنَآ
We revealed
ilayka
إِلَيْكَ
to you
ani
أَنِ
that
ittabiʿ
ٱتَّبِعْ
"You follow
millata
مِلَّةَ
(the) religion
ib'rāhīma
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
ḥanīfan
حَنِيفًاۖ
upright;
wamā
وَمَا
and not
kāna
كَانَ
he was
mina
مِنَ
of
l-mush'rikīna
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the polytheists"
Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 123)
Tafsir
124

اِنَّمَا جُعِلَ السَّبْتُ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ اخْتَلَفُوْا فِيْهِۗ وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ فِيْمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ ١٢٤

innamā
إِنَّمَا
Only
juʿila
جُعِلَ
was appointed
l-sabtu
ٱلسَّبْتُ
the Sabbath
ʿalā
عَلَى
for
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ikh'talafū
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟
differed
fīhi
فِيهِۚ
in it
wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
layaḥkumu
لَيَحْكُمُ
will surely judge
baynahum
بَيْنَهُمْ
between them
yawma
يَوْمَ
(on) the Day
l-qiyāmati
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
fīmā
فِيمَا
in what
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they used (to)
fīhi
فِيهِ
[in it]
yakhtalifūna
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
differ
The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 124)
Tafsir
125

اُدْعُ اِلٰى سَبِيْلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِيْ هِيَ اَحْسَنُۗ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيْلِهٖ وَهُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِيْنَ ١٢٥

ud'ʿu
ٱدْعُ
Call
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
sabīli
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
rabbika
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
bil-ḥik'mati
بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ
with the wisdom
wal-mawʿiẓati
وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ
and the instruction
l-ḥasanati
ٱلْحَسَنَةِۖ
the good
wajādil'hum
وَجَٰدِلْهُم
and discuss with them
bi-allatī
بِٱلَّتِى
in that
hiya
هِىَ
which
aḥsanu
أَحْسَنُۚ
(is) best
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
huwa
هُوَ
He
aʿlamu
أَعْلَمُ
(is) most knowing
biman
بِمَن
of who
ḍalla
ضَلَّ
has strayed
ʿan
عَن
from
sabīlihi
سَبِيلِهِۦۖ
His way
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
aʿlamu
أَعْلَمُ
(is) most knowing
bil-muh'tadīna
بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
of the guided ones
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 125)
Tafsir
126

وَاِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوْا بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوْقِبْتُمْ بِهٖۗ وَلَىِٕنْ صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصّٰبِرِيْنَ ١٢٦

wa-in
وَإِنْ
And if
ʿāqabtum
عَاقَبْتُمْ
you retaliate
faʿāqibū
فَعَاقِبُوا۟
then retaliate
bimith'li
بِمِثْلِ
with the like
مَا
of what
ʿūqib'tum
عُوقِبْتُم
you were afflicted
bihi
بِهِۦۖ
with [it]
wala-in
وَلَئِن
But if
ṣabartum
صَبَرْتُمْ
you are patient
lahuwa
لَهُوَ
surely (it) is
khayrun
خَيْرٌ
better
lilṣṣābirīna
لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ
for those who are patient
And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient – it is better for those who are patient. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 126)
Tafsir
127

وَاصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِيْ ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُوْنَ ١٢٧

wa-iṣ'bir
وَٱصْبِرْ
And be patient
wamā
وَمَا
and not
ṣabruka
صَبْرُكَ
(is) your patience
illā
إِلَّا
but
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِۚ
from Allah
walā
وَلَا
And (do) not
taḥzan
تَحْزَنْ
grieve
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
over them
walā
وَلَا
and (do) not
taku
تَكُ
be
فِى
in
ḍayqin
ضَيْقٍ
distress
mimmā
مِّمَّا
for what
yamkurūna
يَمْكُرُونَ
they plot
And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 127)
Tafsir
128

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّقَوْا وَّالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ مُّحْسِنُوْنَ ࣖ ۔ ١٢٨

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
maʿa
مَعَ
(is) with
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ittaqaw
ٱتَّقَوا۟
fear (Him)
wa-alladhīna
وَّٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
hum
هُم
[they]
muḥ'sinūna
مُّحْسِنُونَ
(are) good-doers
Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 128)
