Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Hijr Verse 63

Al-Hijr [15]: 63 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

قَالُوْا بَلْ جِئْنٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَمْتَرُوْنَ (الحجر : ١٥)

Transliteration:

Qaaloo bal ji'naaka bimaa kaanoo feehi yamtaroon (QS. al-Ḥijr:63)

English / Sahih Translation:

They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, (QS. Al-Hijr, ayah 63)

They said, “No, but we have brought to you that (scourge) in which they have been doubting,

They responded, “We have come to you with that ˹torment˺ which they have doubted.

"We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt;

They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.”

They said, ‘Indeed, we bring you what they used to doubt.

They said: "No (do not be afraid)! We have come to you concerning that which they have persistently disputed (the inevitable consequence of their way of life).

They said, `(You need no apprehensions.) But we have come to you with (the news of) that (punishment) about (the truth of) which they doubted.

English Literal

They said: "But we came to you, with what they were in it doubting/arguing."

They said, "In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted."

They said, "Yea, we have come to you to accomplish that whereof they keep disputing.

They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting.

He said: Surely you are an unknown people.

They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting."

They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed,

They said, “We bring you what they have doubts about.”

Tafsir jalalayn

They said, `Rather, we have come to you because of that which they, your people, used to doubt, namely, the chastisement.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

He said;"Verily, you are people unknown to me."

They said;"Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting."

meaning that they were bringing the punishment and destruction that the people doubted they would ever suffer from
