Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Hijr Verse 53

Al-Hijr [15]: 53 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

قَالُوْا لَا تَوْجَلْ اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِيْمٍ (الحجر : ١٥)

Transliteration:

Qaaloo la tawjal innaa nubashshiruka bighulaamin 'aleem (QS. al-Ḥijr:53)

English / Sahih Translation:

[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy." (QS. Al-Hijr, ayah 53)

They said, “Do not be scared. We give you good news of a boy who will be knowledgeable.”

They said, `Do not be afraid; lo!, we, are the messengers of your Lord [sent to], give you good tidings of a knowledgeable boy', one very knowledgeable [boy], namely, Isaac -- as we mentioned in srat Hd [Q. 11;69].

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

قَالُواْ لَا تَوْجَلْ

They said;"Do not be afraid!..."

meaning, do not be scared.

إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلمٍ عَلِيمٍ



We bring you the good news of a boy possessing much knowledge and wisdom.
