Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Hijr Verse 3
Al-Hijr [15]: 3 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوْا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوْا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْاَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُوْنَ (الحجر : ١٥)

- Leave them
- yakulū
- يَأْكُلُوا۟
- (to) eat
- wayatamattaʿū
- وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟
- and enjoy
- wayul'hihimu
- وَيُلْهِهِمُ
- and diverted them
- l-amalu
- ٱلْأَمَلُۖ
- the hope
- fasawfa
- فَسَوْفَ
- then soon
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- they will come to know
Transliteration:
Zarhum yaakuloo wa tatamatta'oo wa yulhihimul amalu fasawfa ya'lamoon(QS. al-Ḥijr:3)
English / Sahih Translation:
Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know. (QS. Al-Hijr, ayah 3)

Leave them, the disbelievers, O Muhammad (s), to eat and to enjoy, this world of theirs, and that they be diverted, distracted, by hope, of a long life and other [such] matters, [that keep them] away from faith, for they will come to know, the sequel of their affair -- this was [revealed] before the command to fight [them].
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ
Leave them to eat and enjoy,
this is a stern and definitive threat for them, like His saying,
قُلْ تَمَتَّعُواْ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى النَّارِ
Say;"Enjoy your brief life! But certainly, your destination is the Fire!" (14;30)
كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلً إِنَّكُمْ مُّجْرِمُونَ
(O disbelievers!) Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while. Verily, you are the guilty. (77;46)
Allah says;
وَيُلْهِهِمُ الَامَلُ
let them be preoccupied with false hope.
i.e., distracted from repentance and turning to Allah, for,
فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
They will soon come to know!
that is, their punishment
