81
وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمْ اٰيٰتِنَا فَكَانُوْا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِيْنَۙ ٨١
- waātaynāhum
- وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ
- And We gave them
- āyātinā
- ءَايَٰتِنَا
- Our Signs
- fakānū
- فَكَانُوا۟
- but they were
- ʿanhā
- عَنْهَا
- from them
- muʿ'riḍīna
- مُعْرِضِينَ
- turning away
And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 81)Tafsir
82
وَكَانُوْا يَنْحِتُوْنَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوْتًا اٰمِنِيْنَ ٨٢
- wakānū
- وَكَانُوا۟
- And they used (to)
- yanḥitūna
- يَنْحِتُونَ
- carve
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-jibāli
- ٱلْجِبَالِ
- the mountains
- buyūtan
- بُيُوتًا
- houses
- āminīna
- ءَامِنِينَ
- secure
And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 82)Tafsir
83
فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِيْنَۙ ٨٣
- fa-akhadhathumu
- فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
- But seized them
- l-ṣayḥatu
- ٱلصَّيْحَةُ
- the awful cry
- muṣ'biḥīna
- مُصْبِحِينَ
- (at) early morning
But the shriek seized them at early morning, (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 83)Tafsir
84
فَمَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَۗ ٨٤
- famā
- فَمَآ
- And not
- aghnā
- أَغْنَىٰ
- availed
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُم
- them
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- yaksibūna
- يَكْسِبُونَ
- earn
So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 84)Tafsir
85
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّۗ وَاِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَاٰتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيْلَ ٨٥
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- khalaqnā
- خَلَقْنَا
- We created
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍa
- وَٱلْأَرْضَ
- and the earth
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and whatever
- baynahumā
- بَيْنَهُمَآ
- (is) between them
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّۗ
- in truth
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- And indeed
- l-sāʿata
- ٱلسَّاعَةَ
- the Hour
- laātiyatun
- لَءَاتِيَةٌۖ
- (is) surely coming
- fa-iṣ'faḥi
- فَٱصْفَحِ
- So overlook
- l-ṣafḥa
- ٱلصَّفْحَ
- (with) forgiveness
- l-jamīla
- ٱلْجَمِيلَ
- gracious
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 85)Tafsir
86
اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلّٰقُ الْعَلِيْمُ ٨٦
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- rabbaka
- رَبَّكَ
- your Lord
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-khalāqu
- ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ
- (is) the Creator
- l-ʿalīmu
- ٱلْعَلِيمُ
- the All-Knower
Indeed, your Lord – He is the Knowing Creator. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 86)Tafsir
87
وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِيْ وَالْقُرْاٰنَ الْعَظِيْمَ ٨٧
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- ātaynāka
- ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ
- We have given you
- sabʿan
- سَبْعًا
- seven
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-mathānī
- ٱلْمَثَانِى
- the oft-repeated
- wal-qur'āna
- وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ
- and the Quran
- l-ʿaẓīma
- ٱلْعَظِيمَ
- Great
And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Quran. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 87)Tafsir
88
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ اِلٰى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهٖٓ اَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٨٨
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- tamuddanna
- تَمُدَّنَّ
- extend
- ʿaynayka
- عَيْنَيْكَ
- your eyes
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- towards
- mā
- مَا
- what
- mattaʿnā
- مَتَّعْنَا
- We have bestowed
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓ
- with it
- azwājan
- أَزْوَٰجًا
- (to) categories
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- of them
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- taḥzan
- تَحْزَنْ
- grieve
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- over them
- wa-ikh'fiḍ
- وَٱخْفِضْ
- And lower
- janāḥaka
- جَنَاحَكَ
- your wing
- lil'mu'minīna
- لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- to the believers
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of them [i.e., the disbelievers], and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to the believers. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 88)Tafsir
89
وَقُلْ اِنِّيْٓ اَنَا النَّذِيْرُ الْمُبِيْنُۚ ٨٩
- waqul
- وَقُلْ
- And say
- innī
- إِنِّىٓ
- "Indeed I
- anā
- أَنَا
- [I] am
- l-nadhīru
- ٱلنَّذِيرُ
- a warner
- l-mubīnu
- ٱلْمُبِينُ
- clear"
And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" – (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 89)Tafsir
90
كَمَآ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِيْنَۙ ٩٠
- kamā
- كَمَآ
- As
- anzalnā
- أَنزَلْنَا
- We sent down
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- l-muq'tasimīna
- ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
- those who divided
Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 90)Tafsir
