11
وَمَا يَأْتِيْهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ١١
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- yatīhim
- يَأْتِيهِم
- came to them
- min
- مِّن
- any
- rasūlin
- رَّسُولٍ
- Messenger
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they did
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- at him
- yastahziūna
- يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
- mock
And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 11)Tafsir
12
كَذٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهٗ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَۙ ١٢
- kadhālika
- كَذَٰلِكَ
- Thus
- naslukuhu
- نَسْلُكُهُۥ
- We let it enter
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbi
- قُلُوبِ
- (the) hearts
- l-muj'rimīna
- ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
- (of) the criminals
Thus do We insert it [i.e., denial] into the hearts of the criminals. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 12)Tafsir
13
لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ١٣
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- they believe
- bihi
- بِهِۦۖ
- in it
- waqad
- وَقَدْ
- and verily
- khalat
- خَلَتْ
- have passed
- sunnatu
- سُنَّةُ
- the way(s)
- l-awalīna
- ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
- (of) the former (people)
They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 13)Tafsir
14
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ فَظَلُّوْا فِيْهِ يَعْرُجُوْنَۙ ١٤
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And (even) if
- fataḥnā
- فَتَحْنَا
- We opened
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِم
- to them
- bāban
- بَابًا
- a gate
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-samāi
- ٱلسَّمَآءِ
- the heaven
- faẓallū
- فَظَلُّوا۟
- and they were to continue
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- therein
- yaʿrujūna
- يَعْرُجُونَ
- (to) ascend
And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend, (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 14)Tafsir
15
لَقَالُوْٓا اِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ اَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُوْرُوْنَ ࣖ ١٥
- laqālū
- لَقَالُوٓا۟
- They would surely say
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- "Only
- sukkirat
- سُكِّرَتْ
- have been dazzled
- abṣārunā
- أَبْصَٰرُنَا
- our eyes
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- qawmun
- قَوْمٌ
- (are) a people
- masḥūrūna
- مَّسْحُورُونَ
- bewitched"
They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 15)Tafsir
16
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى السَّمَاۤءِ بُرُوْجًا وَّزَيَّنّٰهَا لِلنّٰظِرِيْنَۙ ١٦
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And verily
- jaʿalnā
- جَعَلْنَا
- We have placed
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-samāi
- ٱلسَّمَآءِ
- the heavens
- burūjan
- بُرُوجًا
- constellations
- wazayyannāhā
- وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا
- and We have beautified it
- lilnnāẓirīna
- لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
- for the observers
And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 16)Tafsir
17
وَحَفِظْنٰهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطٰنٍ رَّجِيْمٍۙ ١٧
- waḥafiẓ'nāhā
- وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا
- And We have protected it
- min
- مِن
- from
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- shayṭānin
- شَيْطَٰنٍ
- devil
- rajīmin
- رَّجِيمٍ
- accursed
And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah] (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 17)Tafsir
18
اِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَاَتْبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ١٨
- illā
- إِلَّا
- Except
- mani
- مَنِ
- (one) who
- is'taraqa
- ٱسْتَرَقَ
- steals
- l-samʿa
- ٱلسَّمْعَ
- the hearing
- fa-atbaʿahu
- فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ
- then follows him
- shihābun
- شِهَابٌ
- a burning flame
- mubīnun
- مُّبِينٌ
- clear
Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 18)Tafsir
19
وَالْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا وَاَلْقَيْنَا فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُوْنٍ ١٩
- wal-arḍa
- وَٱلْأَرْضَ
- And the earth
- madadnāhā
- مَدَدْنَٰهَا
- We have spread it
- wa-alqaynā
- وَأَلْقَيْنَا
- and [We] cast
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- rawāsiya
- رَوَٰسِىَ
- firm mountains
- wa-anbatnā
- وَأَنۢبَتْنَا
- and [We] caused to grow
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- min
- مِن
- of
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- thing
- mawzūnin
- مَّوْزُونٍ
- well-balanced
And the earth – We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 19)Tafsir
20
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيْهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَنْ لَّسْتُمْ لَهٗ بِرَازِقِيْنَ ٢٠
- wajaʿalnā
- وَجَعَلْنَا
- And We have made
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- for you
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- maʿāyisha
- مَعَٰيِشَ
- means of living
- waman
- وَمَن
- and whom
- lastum
- لَّسْتُمْ
- you are not
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for him
- birāziqīna
- بِرَٰزِقِينَ
- providers
And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 20)Tafsir
