رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ يَوْمَ يَقُوْمُ الْحِسَابُ ࣖ ٤١
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- Our Lord!
- igh'fir
- ٱغْفِرْ
- Forgive
- lī
- لِى
- me
- waliwālidayya
- وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ
- and my parents
- walil'mu'minīna
- وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- and the believers
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on) the Day
- yaqūmu
- يَقُومُ
- will (be) established
- l-ḥisābu
- ٱلْحِسَابُ
- the account"
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established." (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 41)Tafsir
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّٰهَ غَافِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ ەۗ اِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيْهِ الْاَبْصَارُۙ ٤٢
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- taḥsabanna
- تَحْسَبَنَّ
- think
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (that) Allah
- ghāfilan
- غَٰفِلًا
- (is) unaware
- ʿammā
- عَمَّا
- of what
- yaʿmalu
- يَعْمَلُ
- do
- l-ẓālimūna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَۚ
- the wrongdoers
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- yu-akhiruhum
- يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ
- He gives them respite
- liyawmin
- لِيَوْمٍ
- to a Day
- tashkhaṣu
- تَشْخَصُ
- will stare
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- in it
- l-abṣāru
- ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ
- the eyes
And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them [i.e., their account] for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror]. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 42)Tafsir
مُهْطِعِيْنَ مُقْنِعِيْ رُءُوْسِهِمْ لَا يَرْتَدُّ اِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ ۚوَاَفْـِٕدَتُهُمْ هَوَاۤءٌ ۗ ٤٣
- muh'ṭiʿīna
- مُهْطِعِينَ
- Racing ahead
- muq'niʿī
- مُقْنِعِى
- raised up
- ruūsihim
- رُءُوسِهِمْ
- their heads
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yartaddu
- يَرْتَدُّ
- returning
- ilayhim
- إِلَيْهِمْ
- towards them
- ṭarfuhum
- طَرْفُهُمْۖ
- their gaze
- wa-afidatuhum
- وَأَفْـِٔدَتُهُمْ
- and their hearts
- hawāon
- هَوَآءٌ
- (are) empty
Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them, and their hearts are void. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 43)Tafsir
وَاَنْذِرِ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيْهِمُ الْعَذَابُۙ فَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا رَبَّنَآ اَخِّرْنَآ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍۙ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَۗ اَوَلَمْ تَكُوْنُوْٓا اَقْسَمْتُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلُ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ زَوَالٍۙ ٤٤
- wa-andhiri
- وَأَنذِرِ
- And warn
- l-nāsa
- ٱلنَّاسَ
- the mankind
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (of) a Day
- yatīhimu
- يَأْتِيهِمُ
- (when) will come to them
- l-ʿadhābu
- ٱلْعَذَابُ
- the punishment
- fayaqūlu
- فَيَقُولُ
- then will say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوا۟
- did wrong
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَآ
- "Our Lord!
- akhir'nā
- أَخِّرْنَآ
- Respite us
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- for
- ajalin
- أَجَلٍ
- a term
- qarībin
- قَرِيبٍ
- short
- nujib
- نُّجِبْ
- we will answer
- daʿwataka
- دَعْوَتَكَ
- Your call
- wanattabiʿi
- وَنَتَّبِعِ
- and we will follow
- l-rusula
- ٱلرُّسُلَۗ
- the Messengers"
- awalam
- أَوَلَمْ
- "Had not
- takūnū
- تَكُونُوٓا۟
- you
- aqsamtum
- أَقْسَمْتُم
- sworn
- min
- مِّن
- before
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before
- mā
- مَا
- not
- lakum
- لَكُم
- for you
- min
- مِّن
- any
- zawālin
- زَوَالٍ
- end?
And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation? (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 44)Tafsir
وَّسَكَنْتُمْ فِيْ مَسٰكِنِ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ الْاَمْثَالَ ٤٥
- wasakantum
- وَسَكَنتُمْ
- And you dwelt
- fī
- فِى
- in
- masākini
- مَسَٰكِنِ
- the dwellings
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوٓا۟
- wronged
- anfusahum
- أَنفُسَهُمْ
- themselves
- watabayyana
- وَتَبَيَّنَ
- and it had become clear
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- to you
- kayfa
- كَيْفَ
- how
- faʿalnā
- فَعَلْنَا
- We dealt
- bihim
- بِهِمْ
- with them
- waḍarabnā
- وَضَرَبْنَا
- and We put forth
- lakumu
- لَكُمُ
- for you
- l-amthāla
- ٱلْأَمْثَالَ
- the examples"
And you lived among the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it had become clear to you how We dealt with them. And We presented for you [many] examples." (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 45)Tafsir
وَقَدْ مَكَرُوْا مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِنْدَ اللّٰهِ مَكْرُهُمْۗ وَاِنْ كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُوْلَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ ٤٦
- waqad
- وَقَدْ
- And indeed
- makarū
- مَكَرُوا۟
- they planned
- makrahum
- مَكْرَهُمْ
- their plan
- waʿinda
- وَعِندَ
- but with
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- makruhum
- مَكْرُهُمْ
- (was) their plan
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- even if
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- makruhum
- مَكْرُهُمْ
- their plan
- litazūla
- لِتَزُولَ
- that should be moved
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- by it
- l-jibālu
- ٱلْجِبَالُ
- the mountains
And they had planned their plan, but with Allah is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 46)Tafsir
فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهٖ رُسُلَهٗ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِيْزٌ ذُو انْتِقَامٍۗ ٤٧
- falā
- فَلَا
- So (do) not
- taḥsabanna
- تَحْسَبَنَّ
- think
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (that) Allah
- mukh'lifa
- مُخْلِفَ
- will fail
- waʿdihi
- وَعْدِهِۦ
- (to) keep His Promise
- rusulahu
- رُسُلَهُۥٓۗ
- (to) His Messengers
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ʿazīzun
- عَزِيزٌ
- (is) All-Mighty
- dhū
- ذُو
- Owner (of) Retribution
- intiqāmin
- ٱنتِقَامٍ
- Owner (of) Retribution
So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 47)Tafsir
يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الْاَرْضُ غَيْرَ الْاَرْضِ وَالسَّمٰوٰتُ وَبَرَزُوْا لِلّٰهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ ٤٨
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (On the) Day
- tubaddalu
- تُبَدَّلُ
- will be changed
- l-arḍu
- ٱلْأَرْضُ
- the earth
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- (to) other (than)
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- wal-samāwātu
- وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُۖ
- and the heavens
- wabarazū
- وَبَرَزُوا۟
- and they will come forth
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- before Allah
- l-wāḥidi
- ٱلْوَٰحِدِ
- the One
- l-qahāri
- ٱلْقَهَّارِ
- the Irresistible
[It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and they [i.e., all creatures] will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 48)Tafsir
وَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ مُّقَرَّنِيْنَ فِى الْاَصْفَادِۚ ٤٩
- watarā
- وَتَرَى
- And you will see
- l-muj'rimīna
- ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
- the criminals
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- (on) that Day
- muqarranīna
- مُّقَرَّنِينَ
- bound together
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-aṣfādi
- ٱلْأَصْفَادِ
- the chains
And you will see the criminals that Day bound together in irons, (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 49)Tafsir
سَرَابِيْلُهُمْ مِّنْ قَطِرَانٍ وَّتَغْشٰى وُجُوْهَهُمُ النَّارُۙ ٥٠
- sarābīluhum
- سَرَابِيلُهُم
- Their garments
- min
- مِّن
- of
- qaṭirānin
- قَطِرَانٍ
- tar
- wataghshā
- وَتَغْشَىٰ
- and will cover
- wujūhahumu
- وُجُوهَهُمُ
- their faces
- l-nāru
- ٱلنَّارُ
- the Fire
Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 50)Tafsir
