قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ اِنْ نَّحْنُ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَمُنُّ عَلٰى مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهٖۗ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَآ اَنْ نَّأْتِيَكُمْ بِسُلْطٰنٍ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ ١١

- Said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- rusuluhum
- رُسُلُهُمْ
- their Messengers
- in
- إِن
- "Not
- naḥnu
- نَّحْنُ
- we (are)
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- basharun
- بَشَرٌ
- a human
- mith'lukum
- مِّثْلُكُمْ
- like you
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yamunnu
- يَمُنُّ
- bestows His Grace
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- man
- مَن
- whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُ
- He wills
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- ʿibādihi
- عِبَادِهِۦۖ
- His slaves
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- lanā
- لَنَآ
- for us
- an
- أَن
- that
- natiyakum
- نَّأْتِيَكُم
- we bring you
- bisul'ṭānin
- بِسُلْطَٰنٍ
- an authority
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- bi-idh'ni
- بِإِذْنِ
- by the permission of Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- by the permission of Allah
- waʿalā
- وَعَلَى
- And upon
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- falyatawakkali
- فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ
- so let put (their) trust
- l-mu'minūna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
- the believers
Their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but Allah confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 11)Tafsir
وَمَا لَنَآ اَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ وَقَدْ هَدٰىنَا سُبُلَنَاۗ وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلٰى مَآ اٰذَيْتُمُوْنَاۗ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُوْنَ ࣖ ١٢
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And what
- lanā
- لَنَآ
- (is) for us
- allā
- أَلَّا
- that not
- natawakkala
- نَتَوَكَّلَ
- we put our trust
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- upon
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- waqad
- وَقَدْ
- while certainly
- hadānā
- هَدَىٰنَا
- He has guided us
- subulanā
- سُبُلَنَاۚ
- to our ways?
- walanaṣbiranna
- وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ
- And surely we will bear with patience
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- mā
- مَآ
- what
- ādhaytumūnā
- ءَاذَيْتُمُونَاۚ
- harm you may cause us
- waʿalā
- وَعَلَى
- And upon
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- falyatawakkali
- فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ
- so let put (their) trust
- l-mutawakilūna
- ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
- the ones who put (their) trust"
And why should we not rely upon Allah while He has guided us to our [good] ways. And we will surely be patient against whatever harm you should cause us. And upon Allah let those who would rely [indeed] rely." (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 12)Tafsir
وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُمْ مِّنْ اَرْضِنَآ اَوْ لَتَعُوْدُنَّ فِيْ مِلَّتِنَاۗ فَاَوْحٰٓى اِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ۗ ١٣
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And said
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- lirusulihim
- لِرُسُلِهِمْ
- to their Messengers
- lanukh'rijannakum
- لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم
- Surely we will drive you out
- min
- مِّنْ
- of
- arḍinā
- أَرْضِنَآ
- our land
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- lataʿūdunna
- لَتَعُودُنَّ
- surely you should return
- fī
- فِى
- to
- millatinā
- مِلَّتِنَاۖ
- our religion"
- fa-awḥā
- فَأَوْحَىٰٓ
- So inspired
- ilayhim
- إِلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- rabbuhum
- رَبُّهُمْ
- their Lord
- lanuh'likanna
- لَنُهْلِكَنَّ
- "We will surely destroy
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoers
And those who disbelieved said to their messengers, "We will surely drive you out of our land, or you must return to our religion." So their Lord inspired to them, "We will surely destroy the wrongdoers. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 13)Tafsir
وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ الْاَرْضَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۗذٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِيْ وَخَافَ وَعِيْدِ ١٤
- walanus'kinannakumu
- وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ
- And surely We will make you dwell
- l-arḍa
- ٱلْأَرْضَ
- (in) the land
- min
- مِنۢ
- after them
- baʿdihim
- بَعْدِهِمْۚ
- after them
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- liman
- لِمَنْ
- (is) for whoever
- khāfa
- خَافَ
- fears
- maqāmī
- مَقَامِى
- standing before Me
- wakhāfa
- وَخَافَ
- and fears
- waʿīdi
- وَعِيدِ
- My Threat"
And We will surely cause you to dwell in the land after them. That is for he who fears My position and fears My threat." (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 14)Tafsir
وَاسْتَفْتَحُوْا وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيْدٍۙ ١٥
- wa-is'taftaḥū
- وَٱسْتَفْتَحُوا۟
- And they sought victory
- wakhāba
- وَخَابَ
- and disappointed
- kullu
- كُلُّ
- every
- jabbārin
- جَبَّارٍ
- tyrant
- ʿanīdin
- عَنِيدٍ
- obstinate
And they requested decision [i.e., victory from Allah], and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 15)Tafsir
مِّنْ وَّرَاۤىِٕهٖ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقٰى مِنْ مَّاۤءٍ صَدِيْدٍۙ ١٦
- min
- مِّن
- Ahead of him
- warāihi
- وَرَآئِهِۦ
- Ahead of him
- jahannamu
- جَهَنَّمُ
- (is) Hell
- wayus'qā
- وَيُسْقَىٰ
- and he will be made to drink
- min
- مِن
- of
- māin
- مَّآءٍ
- water
- ṣadīdin
- صَدِيدٍ
- purulent
Before him is Hell, and he will be given a drink of purulent water. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 16)Tafsir
يَّتَجَرَّعُهٗ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيْغُهٗ وَيَأْتِيْهِ الْمَوْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَّمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍۗ وَمِنْ وَّرَاۤىِٕهٖ عَذَابٌ غَلِيْظٌ ١٧
- yatajarraʿuhu
- يَتَجَرَّعُهُۥ
- He will sip it
- walā
- وَلَا
- but not
- yakādu
- يَكَادُ
- he will be near
- yusīghuhu
- يُسِيغُهُۥ
- (to) swallowing it
- wayatīhi
- وَيَأْتِيهِ
- And will come to him
- l-mawtu
- ٱلْمَوْتُ
- the death
- min
- مِن
- from
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- makānin
- مَكَانٍ
- side
- wamā
- وَمَا
- but not
- huwa
- هُوَ
- he
- bimayyitin
- بِمَيِّتٍۖ
- will die
- wamin
- وَمِن
- And ahead of him
- warāihi
- وَرَآئِهِۦ
- And ahead of him
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- (is) a punishment
- ghalīẓun
- غَلِيظٌ
- harsh
He will gulp it but will hardly [be able to] swallow it. And death will come to him from everywhere, but he is not to die. And before him is a massive punishment. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 17)Tafsir
مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِرَبِّهِمْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ كَرَمَادِ ِۨاشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ الرِّيْحُ فِيْ يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍۗ لَا يَقْدِرُوْنَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوْا عَلٰى شَيْءٍ ۗذٰلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلٰلُ الْبَعِيْدُ ١٨

- مَّثَلُ
- (The) example
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieve
- birabbihim
- بِرَبِّهِمْۖ
- in their Lord
- aʿmāluhum
- أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
- their deeds
- karamādin
- كَرَمَادٍ
- (are) like ashes
- ish'taddat
- ٱشْتَدَّتْ
- blows furiously
- bihi
- بِهِ
- on it
- l-rīḥu
- ٱلرِّيحُ
- the wind
- fī
- فِى
- in
- yawmin
- يَوْمٍ
- a day
- ʿāṣifin
- عَاصِفٍۖ
- stormy
- lā
- لَّا
- No
- yaqdirūna
- يَقْدِرُونَ
- control (they have)
- mimmā
- مِمَّا
- of what
- kasabū
- كَسَبُوا۟
- they have earned
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- shayin
- شَىْءٍۚ
- anything
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- huwa
- هُوَ
- [it]
- l-ḍalālu
- ٱلضَّلَٰلُ
- (is) the straying
- l-baʿīdu
- ٱلْبَعِيدُ
- far
The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 18)Tafsir
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّۗ اِنْ يَّشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيْدٍۙ ١٩
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Do not
- tara
- تَرَ
- you see
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- khalaqa
- خَلَقَ
- created
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍa
- وَٱلْأَرْضَ
- and the earth
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّۚ
- in truth?
- in
- إِن
- If
- yasha
- يَشَأْ
- He wills
- yudh'hib'kum
- يُذْهِبْكُمْ
- He can remove you
- wayati
- وَيَأْتِ
- and bring
- bikhalqin
- بِخَلْقٍ
- a creation
- jadīdin
- جَدِيدٍ
- new
Have you not seen [i.e., considered] that Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth? If He wills, He can do away with you and produce a new creation. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 19)Tafsir
وَّمَا ذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ بِعَزِيْزٍ ٢٠
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- (is) that
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- biʿazīzin
- بِعَزِيزٍ
- great
And that is not difficult for Allah. (QS. [14] Ibrahim: 20)Tafsir
