Surah Ar-Ra'd - Page: 3

(The Thunder)

21

وَالَّذِيْنَ يَصِلُوْنَ مَآ اَمَرَ اللّٰهُ بِهٖٓ اَنْ يُّوْصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُوْنَ سُوْۤءَ الْحِسَابِ ۗ ٢١

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
yaṣilūna
يَصِلُونَ
join
مَآ
what
amara
أَمَرَ
(has been) commanded
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(by) Allah
bihi
بِهِۦٓ
[for it]
an
أَن
to
yūṣala
يُوصَلَ
be joined
wayakhshawna
وَيَخْشَوْنَ
and fear
rabbahum
رَبَّهُمْ
their Lord
wayakhāfūna
وَيَخَافُونَ
and are afraid
sūa
سُوٓءَ
(of) the evil
l-ḥisābi
ٱلْحِسَابِ
the account
And those who join that which Allah has ordered to be joined and fear their Lord and are afraid of the evil of [their] account, (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 21)
Tafsir
22

وَالَّذِيْنَ صَبَرُوا ابْتِغَاۤءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَاَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاَنْفَقُوْا مِمَّا رَزَقْنٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَّعَلَانِيَةً وَّيَدْرَءُوْنَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِۙ ٢٢

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
ṣabarū
صَبَرُوا۟
(are) patient
ib'tighāa
ٱبْتِغَآءَ
seeking
wajhi
وَجْهِ
(the) Face
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) their Lord
wa-aqāmū
وَأَقَامُوا۟
and establish
l-ṣalata
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
wa-anfaqū
وَأَنفَقُوا۟
and spend
mimmā
مِمَّا
from what
razaqnāhum
رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ
We have provided them
sirran
سِرًّا
secretly
waʿalāniyatan
وَعَلَانِيَةً
and publicly
wayadraūna
وَيَدْرَءُونَ
and they repel
bil-ḥasanati
بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ
with the good
l-sayi-ata
ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ
the evil -
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
ʿuq'bā
عُقْبَى
(is) the final attainment
l-dāri
ٱلدَّارِ
(of) the Home -
And those who are patient, seeking the face [i.e., acceptance] of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good – those will have the good consequence of [this] home – (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 22)
Tafsir
23

جَنّٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَّدْخُلُوْنَهَا وَمَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ اٰبَاۤىِٕهِمْ وَاَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيّٰتِهِمْ وَالْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ يَدْخُلُوْنَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنْ كُلِّ بَابٍۚ ٢٣

jannātu
جَنَّٰتُ
Gardens
ʿadnin
عَدْنٍ
of Eden
yadkhulūnahā
يَدْخُلُونَهَا
they will enter them
waman
وَمَن
and whoever
ṣalaḥa
صَلَحَ
(were) righteous
min
مِنْ
among
ābāihim
ءَابَآئِهِمْ
their fathers
wa-azwājihim
وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ
and their spouses
wadhurriyyātihim
وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْۖ
and their offsprings
wal-malāikatu
وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
And the Angels
yadkhulūna
يَدْخُلُونَ
will enter
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِم
upon them
min
مِّن
from
kulli
كُلِّ
every
bābin
بَابٍ
gate
Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying], (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 23)
Tafsir
24

سَلٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِۗ ٢٤

salāmun
سَلَٰمٌ
(Saying) Peace
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُم
(be) upon you
bimā
بِمَا
for what
ṣabartum
صَبَرْتُمْۚ
you patiently endured
faniʿ'ma
فَنِعْمَ
And excellent
ʿuq'bā
عُقْبَى
(is) the final attainment
l-dāri
ٱلدَّارِ
(of) the Home"
"Peace [i.e., security] be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home." (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 24)
Tafsir
25

وَالَّذِيْنَ يَنْقُضُوْنَ عَهْدَ اللّٰهِ مِنْ ۢ بَعْدِ مِيْثَاقِهٖ وَيَقْطَعُوْنَ مَآ اَمَرَ اللّٰهُ بِهٖٓ اَنْ يُّوْصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِۙ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوْۤءُ الدَّارِ ٢٥

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
yanquḍūna
يَنقُضُونَ
break
ʿahda
عَهْدَ
the covenant
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
min
مِنۢ
from
baʿdi
بَعْدِ
after
mīthāqihi
مِيثَٰقِهِۦ
contracting it
wayaqṭaʿūna
وَيَقْطَعُونَ
and sever
مَآ
what
amara
أَمَرَ
(has been) commanded
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(by) Allah
bihi
بِهِۦٓ
for it
an
أَن
to
yūṣala
يُوصَلَ
be joined
wayuf'sidūna
وَيُفْسِدُونَ
and spread corruption
فِى
in
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِۙ
the earth
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
lahumu
لَهُمُ
for them
l-laʿnatu
ٱللَّعْنَةُ
(is) the curse
walahum
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
sūu
سُوٓءُ
(is) an evil
l-dāri
ٱلدَّارِ
home
But those who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth – for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home. (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 25)
Tafsir
26

اَللّٰهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۗوَفَرِحُوْا بِالْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۗ وَمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ اِلَّا مَتَاعٌ ࣖ ٢٦

al-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
yabsuṭu
يَبْسُطُ
extends
l-riz'qa
ٱلرِّزْقَ
the provision
liman
لِمَن
for whom
yashāu
يَشَآءُ
He wills
wayaqdiru
وَيَقْدِرُۚ
and restricts
wafariḥū
وَفَرِحُوا۟
And they rejoice
bil-ḥayati
بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
in the life
l-dun'yā
ٱلدُّنْيَا
(of) the world
wamā
وَمَا
and nothing
l-ḥayatu
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
(is) the life
l-dun'yā
ٱلدُّنْيَا
of the world
فِى
in (comparison to)
l-ākhirati
ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
the Hereafter
illā
إِلَّا
except
matāʿun
مَتَٰعٌ
an enjoyment
Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment. (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 26)
Tafsir
27

وَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَوْلَآ اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ اٰيَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖۗ قُلْ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُضِلُّ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيَهْدِيْٓ اِلَيْهِ مَنْ اَنَابَۖ ٢٧

wayaqūlu
وَيَقُولُ
And say
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
lawlā
لَوْلَآ
"Why has not
unzila
أُنزِلَ
been sent down
ʿalayhi
عَلَيْهِ
upon him
āyatun
ءَايَةٌ
a Sign
min
مِّن
from
rabbihi
رَّبِّهِۦۗ
his Lord?"
qul
قُلْ
Say
inna
إِنَّ
"Indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
yuḍillu
يُضِلُّ
lets go astray
man
مَن
whom
yashāu
يَشَآءُ
He wills
wayahdī
وَيَهْدِىٓ
and guides
ilayhi
إِلَيْهِ
to Himself
man
مَنْ
whoever
anāba
أَنَابَ
turns back
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, Allah leaves astray whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him] – (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 27)
Tafsir
28

الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَتَطْمَىِٕنُّ قُلُوْبُهُمْ بِذِكْرِ اللّٰهِ ۗ اَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللّٰهِ تَطْمَىِٕنُّ الْقُلُوْبُ ۗ ٢٨

alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
wataṭma-innu
وَتَطْمَئِنُّ
and find satisfaction
qulūbuhum
قُلُوبُهُم
their hearts
bidhik'ri
بِذِكْرِ
in the remembrance
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۗ
(of) Allah
alā
أَلَا
No doubt
bidhik'ri
بِذِكْرِ
in the remembrance
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
taṭma-innu
تَطْمَئِنُّ
find satisfaction
l-qulūbu
ٱلْقُلُوبُ
the hearts"
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 28)
Tafsir
29

اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ طُوْبٰى لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَاٰبٍ ٢٩

alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
waʿamilū
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and did
l-ṣāliḥāti
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
righteous deeds
ṭūbā
طُوبَىٰ
blessedness
lahum
لَهُمْ
(is) for them
waḥus'nu
وَحُسْنُ
and a beautiful
maābin
مَـَٔابٍ
place of return
Those who have believed and done righteous deeds – a good state is theirs and a good return. (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 29)
Tafsir
30

كَذٰلِكَ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ فِيْٓ اُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهَآ اُمَمٌ لِّتَتْلُوَا۟ عَلَيْهِمُ الَّذِيْٓ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُوْنَ بِالرَّحْمٰنِۗ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّيْ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَاِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ ٣٠

kadhālika
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus
arsalnāka
أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ
We have sent you
فِىٓ
to
ummatin
أُمَّةٍ
a nation
qad
قَدْ
verily
khalat
خَلَتْ
have passed away
min
مِن
from
qablihā
قَبْلِهَآ
before it
umamun
أُمَمٌ
nations
litatluwā
لِّتَتْلُوَا۟
so that you might recite
ʿalayhimu
عَلَيْهِمُ
to them
alladhī
ٱلَّذِىٓ
what
awḥaynā
أَوْحَيْنَآ
We revealed
ilayka
إِلَيْكَ
to you
wahum
وَهُمْ
while they
yakfurūna
يَكْفُرُونَ
disbelieve
bil-raḥmāni
بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِۚ
in the Most Gracious
qul
قُلْ
Say
huwa
هُوَ
"He
rabbī
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
لَآ
(there is) no
ilāha
إِلَٰهَ
god
illā
إِلَّا
except
huwa
هُوَ
Him
ʿalayhi
عَلَيْهِ
Upon Him
tawakkaltu
تَوَكَّلْتُ
I put my trust
wa-ilayhi
وَإِلَيْهِ
and to Him
matābi
مَتَابِ
(is) my return"
Thus have We sent you to a community before which [other] communities have passed on so you might recite to them that which We revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Merciful. Say, "He is my Lord; there is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return." (QS. [13] Ar-Ra'd: 30)
