Al-Qur'an Surah Yusuf Verse 63
Yusuf [12]: 63 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوْٓا اِلٰٓى اَبِيْهِمْ قَالُوْا يٰٓاَبَانَا مُنِعَ مِنَّا الْكَيْلُ فَاَرْسِلْ مَعَنَآ اَخَانَا نَكْتَلْ وَاِنَّا لَهٗ لَحٰفِظُوْنَ (يوسف : ١٢)

- فَأَرْسِلْ

- نَكْتَلْ
- (that) we will get measure
- wa-innā
- وَإِنَّا
- And indeed we
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for him
- laḥāfiẓūna
- لَحَٰفِظُونَ
- (will) surely (be) guardians"
Transliteration:
Falammaa raja'ooo ilaaa abeehim qaaloo yaaa abaanaa muni'a minnal kailu fa arsil ma'anaaa akhaanaa naktal wa innaa lahoo lahaafizoon(QS. Yūsuf:63)
English / Sahih Translation:
So when they returned to their father, they said, "O our father, [further] measure has been denied to us, so send with us our brother [that] we will be given measure. And indeed, we will be his guardians." (QS. Yusuf, ayah 63)

So, when they returned to their father, they said, “Father, the (required) measure (of grain) has been withheld from us, therefore, send our brother with us, so that we may receive our full measure. And, of course, we are his guards.”

When Joseph’s brothers returned to their father, they pleaded, “O our father! We have been denied ˹further˺ supplies. So send our brother with us so that we may receive our measure, and we will definitely watch over him.”

So when they went back to their father, they said: "O our father! We will be denied any measure (of provisions unless we take our brother), so send our brother with us that we may obtain our measure. For we will surely take every care of him."

So when they returned to their father they said, `Our father! (a further) measure (of corn) has been denied us (unless we take our brother Benjamin with us), therefore send our brother with us that we may have (our) measure (of corn) and we will surely be able to take (due) care of him.´
English Literal
So when they returned to their father, they said: "You our father, the measuring/weighing device (the goods) was prevented/prohibited from (for) us, so send with us our brother, we take (goods) by measure/weight, we are for him protectors/guards (E) ."

So when they returned to their father, they said, "O our father! The provisions have been denied to us, therefore send our brother with us so that we may bring the provisions, and we will surely protect him."

Then he said to his servants, "Put their merchandise (they brought in payment) back into their packs, so that they may discover it only when they have returned to their family; per chance (or possibly) they may return."

When they returned to their father, they said: 'Father, we have been denied the measure. Send our brother with us and we shall receive our measure. We will indeed look after him'

So, when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother). So send our brother with us, and we shall get our measure and truly, we will guard him."
Wahiduddin Khan
When they returned to their father, they said, "Our father, any [further] measure of grain has been denied us, so send our brother [Benjamin] along with us, so that we may obtain our measure [of grain]; and, we shall guard him well."

When they returned to their father, they said, “O father, we were denied measure, but send our brother with us, and we will obtain measure. We will take care of him.”
Tafsir jalalayn
So when they went back to their father, they said, `O father, the measure will be denied us, unless you send forth our brother to him [to the Court officer]; so send forth our brother with us, that we may obtain the measure (read naktal or yaktal, `that he may obtain the measure [for us']). Surely we will guard him well'.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
Yusuf's Brothers ask Yaqub's Permission to send Their Brother Binyamin with Them to Egypt
Allah tells;
فَلَمَّا رَجِعُوا إِلَى أَبِيهِمْ
So, when they returned to their father,
قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا مُنِعَ مِنَّا الْكَيْلُ
they said;"O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get..."
after this time, unless you send our brother Binyamin with us.
فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا أَخَانَا نَكْتَلْ
So send our brother with us, and we shall get our measure
Some scholars read this Ayah in a way that means,
`and he shall get his ration.'
They said,
وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
and truly, we will guard him.
`do not fear for his safety, for he will be returned back to you.'
This is what they said to Ya`qub about their brother Yusuf,
أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًا يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
"Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and verily, we will take care of him." (12;12)
This is why Prophet Yaqub said to them
