Al-Qur'an Surah Yusuf Verse 6

And it will be in this way that your Lord will choose you and teach you the correct interpretation of events, and will perfect His bounty upon you and upon the House of Ya‘qūb, as He has perfected it earlier upon your fore-fathers, Ibrāhīm and IsHāq. Surely, your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.”

And as/like that your Lord chooses/purifies you and teaches/informs you from the information`s/speech`s interpretation/explanation, and He completes His blessing on you, and on Jacob`s family, as/like He completed it on your fathers (forefathers) before, Abraham, and Isaac, that your Lord (is) knowledgeable, wise/judicious.

Tafsir jalalayn

Thus, in the way that you have seen, will your Lord prefer you, choose you, and teach you the interpretation of events, the interpretation of visions, and perfect His grace upon you, with prophethood, and upon the House of Jacob -- [upon] his sons -- as He perfected it, with prophethood, formerly on your fathers Abraham and Isaac. Truly your Lord is Knower, of His creatures, Wise', in what He does with them.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Interpretation of Yusuf's Vision

Allah says that Yaqub said to his son Yusuf, `Just as Allah chose you to see the eleven stars, the sun and the moon prostrate before you in a vision,

وَكَذَلِكَ يَجْتَبِيكَ رَبُّكَ

Thus will your Lord choose you,

designate and assign you to be a Prophet from Him,

وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِن تَأْوِيلِ الَاحَادِيثِ

and teach you the interpretation of Ahadith.'

Mujahid and several other scholars said that;

this part of the Ayah is in reference to the interpreting of dreams.

He said next,

وَيُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكَ

and perfect His favor on you,

`by His Message and revelation to you.'

وَعَلَى الِ يَعْقُوبَ

and on the offspring of Yaqub,

This is why Yaqub said afterwards,

كَمَا أَتَمَّهَا عَلَى أَبَوَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

as He perfected it aforetime on your fathers, Ibrahim...,

Allah's intimate friend,

وَإِسْحَقَ

and Ishaq,

Ibrahim's son,

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ



Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
