Al-Qur'an Surah Yusuf Verse 54
Yusuf [12]: 54 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ائْتُوْنِيْ بِهٖٓ اَسْتَخْلِصْهُ لِنَفْسِيْۚ فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَهٗ قَالَ اِنَّكَ الْيَوْمَ لَدَيْنَا مَكِيْنٌ اَمِيْنٌ (يوسف : ١٢)

- ٱلْمَلِكُ
- the king
- i'tūnī
- ٱئْتُونِى
- "Bring him to me
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓ

- I will select him

- لِنَفْسِىۖ
- for myself"

- Then when
- kallamahu
- كَلَّمَهُۥ
- he spoke to him

- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- "Indeed, you
- l-yawma
- ٱلْيَوْمَ
- (are) today
- ladaynā
- لَدَيْنَا
- with us
- makīnun
- مَكِينٌ
- firmly established
- amīnun
- أَمِينٌ
- (and) trusted"
Transliteration:
Wa qaalal maliku' toonee biheee astakhlishu linafsee falammaa kallamahoo qaala innakal yawma ladainaa makeenun ameen(QS. Yūsuf:54)
English / Sahih Translation:
And the king said, "Bring him to me; I will appoint him exclusively for myself." And when he spoke to him, he said, "Indeed, you are today established [in position] and trusted." (QS. Yusuf, ayah 54)

The king said, “Bring him to me, and I shall employ him purely for myself.” So, when he (the king) talked to him, he said (to Yūsuf), “Today you are with us well-placed, fully trusted.”

The King said, “Bring him to me. I will employ him exclusively in my service.” And when Joseph spoke to him, the King said, “Today you are highly esteemed and fully trusted by us.”

English Literal
And the king said: "Come with him to me (bring him), I choose/select him to myself." So when he conversed/spoke to him , he said: "That you are today near us , highly positioned , faithful/loyal ."

Tafsir jalalayn
And the king said, `Bring him to me, that I may use him for myself', that I may make him mine exclusively, with none to share [him with me]. The messenger came to him [to Joseph] and said, `Respond to the king!', and so he got up and bid farewell to [his] fellow-prisoners and prayed for them. He then washed himself, put on some good clothes and entered upon him. And when he had spoken with him, he said, to him; `Indeed you are on this day in our presence established and trustworthy', a person of status, entrusted over our affair, so what do you think we should do? He said, `Gather food [stocks] and sow abundantly in these fertile years, then store the corn in its ears. People [from far and wide] will come to you and ask you to supply them [with provisions]'. He [the king] said, `Whom can I delegate this [task] to?'
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
Yusuf's Rank with the King of Egypt
Allah states that when he became aware of Yusuf's innocence and his innocence of what he was accused of,
وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ايْتُونِي بِهِ أَسْتَخْلِصْهُ لِنَفْسِي
And the king said;"Bring him to me that I may attach him to my person."
`that I may make him among my close aids and associates,'
فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَهُ
Then, when he spoke to him,
when the king spoke to Yusuf and further recognized his virtues, great ability, brilliance, good conduct and perfect mannerism,
قَالَ إِنَّكَ الْيَوْمَ لَدَيْنَا مِكِينٌ أَمِينٌ
he said;"Verily, this day, you are with us high in rank and fully trusted."
The king said to Yusuf, `You have assumed an exalted status with us and are indeed fully trusted.'
Yusuf, peace be upon him said,
