لَقَدْ كَانَ فِيْ قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّاُولِى الْاَلْبَابِۗ مَا كَانَ حَدِيْثًا يُّفْتَرٰى وَلٰكِنْ تَصْدِيْقَ الَّذِيْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيْلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَّهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ࣖ ١١١

- يُفْتَرَىٰ
- invented
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- taṣdīqa
- تَصْدِيقَ
- a confirmation
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (of that) which
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- (was) before it
- yadayhi
- يَدَيْهِ
- (was) before it
- watafṣīla
- وَتَفْصِيلَ
- and a detailed explanation
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- (of) all
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- things
- wahudan
- وَهُدًى
- and a guidance
- waraḥmatan
- وَرَحْمَةً
- and mercy
- liqawmin
- لِّقَوْمٍ
- for a people
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- who believe
There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was it [i.e., the Quran] a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe. (QS. [12] Yusuf: 111)Tafsir
