Hud [11]: 65 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَعَقَرُوْهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوْا فِيْ دَارِكُمْ ثَلٰثَةَ اَيَّامٍ ۗذٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوْبٍ (هود : ١١)

faʿaqarūhā
فَعَقَرُوهَا
But they hamstrung her
faqāla
فَقَالَ
So he said

تَمَتَّعُوا۟
"Enjoy (yourselves)
فِى

dārikum
دَارِكُمْ
your home(s)

(for) three
ayyāmin
أَيَّامٍۖ

وَعْدٌ
(is) a promise

مَكْذُوبٍ
(to) be belied"

Transliteration:

Fa 'aqaroohaa faqaala tamatta'oo fee daarikum salaasata aiyaamin zaalika wa'dun ghairu makzoob (QS. Hūd:65)

English / Sahih Translation:

But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied [i.e., unfailing]." (QS. Hud, ayah 65)

Then they slaughtered her. So, he said, “Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days (only). That is a promise, not to be backed out.”

But they killed her, so he warned ˹them˺, “You have ˹only˺ three ˹more˺ days to enjoy life in your homes—this is an unfailing promise!”

But they slaughtered her. Thereupon Salih warned them: 'Enjoy yourselves in your homes for a maximum of three days. This is a promise which shall not be belied.'

But (unable to bear to see her as an evidence of the truth of Salih’s message) they cruelly slaughtered her. Then he (Salih) said: "Enjoy the life in your habitations three days more, (then will be your ruin). This is a threat that will not be proved false."

But they hamstrung her, so that he (- Sâlih) said, `You shall enjoy the provision of Allâh in your worldly abodes only for (another) three days. This is a promise which will never prove false.´

English Literal

So they wounded it/slaughtered it/cut it/made it infertile, so he said: "Enjoy three days in your home/country , that (is) a promise not denied/falsified."

In response they hamstrung her, he therefore said, "Enjoy a further three days in your homes; this is a promise that will not be untrue."

"O my people! This she-camel of Allah is a test (symbol, token) for you; leave her, then, to feed in Allah´s earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a near torment seize you."

Tafsir jalalayn

But they hamstrung her, Qudr hamstrung her at their command, and he, Slih, said, `Enjoy [yourselves], live, in your dwellings for three days, whereafter you will be destroyed. That is a promise that will not be belied'.

But they slaughtered her. So he said;"Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. This is a promise (a threat) that will not be belied."

فَلَمَّا جَاء أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صَالِحًا وَالَّذِينَ امَنُواْ مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْيِ يَوْمِيِذٍ

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيزُ
