Hud [11]: 60 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَاُتْبِعُوْا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَّيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوْا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ اَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُوْدٍ ࣖ (هود : ١١)

وَأُتْبِعُوا۟
And they were followed
فِى

(of) Hud

Transliteration:

Wa utbi'oo fee haazihid dunyaa la'natanw wa Yawmal Qiyaamah; alaaa inna 'Aadan kafaroo Rabbahum; alaa bu'dal li 'Aadin qawmin Hood (QS. Hūd:60)

English / Sahih Translation:

And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, Aad denied their Lord; then away with Aad, the people of Hud. (QS. Hud, ayah 60)

A curse was made to pursue them in this world and on the Day of Judgment. Lo! The people of ‘Ād disbelieved their Lord. Lo! Ruined were ‘Ād, the people of Hūd.

They were followed by a curse in this world, as they will be on the Day of Judgment. Surely ’Âd denied their Lord. So away with ’Âd, the people of Hûd.

They were pursued by a curse in this world, and so will they be on the Day of Judgement. Lo! 'Ad disbelieved in the Lord. Lo! ruined are 'Ad, the people of Hud.

So they were accursed in the world, and they will be damned on the Day of Doom. Beware! The 'Ad turned away from their Lord.

So they were pursued by a curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. Behold! ‘Ad indeed defied their Lord. Now, away with ‘Ad, the people of Hud!

And a curse was made to pursue them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection. Beware! The ‘Ad disbelieved in their Lord with ingratitude; so away with the ‘Ad, the people of Hud!

And there was sent following them a curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection (they will meet the same fate). Behold! (the tribe of) ´Âd behaved ungratefully towards their Lord (by denying His favours). Look! destruction is decreed for ´Âd, the people of Hûd.

English Literal

And they were followed in this the present world (by) curse/torture and the Resurrection Day, is not that Aad disbelieved (in) their Lord, is not destruction/death/curse to Aad, Hood`s nation?

And a curse followed them in the world, and on the Day of Resurrection; pay heed! Indeed A’ad disbelieved in their Lord; away with A’ad, the people of Hud!

And they were pursued by a curse in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, Aad blasphemed against their Lord—so away with Aad, the people of Hud.

Tafsir jalalayn

And a curse was made to follow them in this world, from people, and on the Day of Resurrection, a curse [will follow them] for all creatures to see. `Lo! `d disbelieved in, they knowingly denied, their Lord. Lo! away, [far] from God's mercy, with `d, the folk of Hd!'

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَأُتْبِعُواْ فِي هَـذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

And they were pursued by a curse in this world and (so they will be) on the Day of Resurrection.

أَلا إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُواْ رَبَّهُمْ

No doubt! Verily, `Ad disbelieved in their Lord.

أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ



So away with `Ad, the people of Hud.
