Al-Qur'an Surah Hud Verse 45
Hud [11]: 45 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَنَادٰى نُوْحٌ رَّبَّهٗ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ ابْنِيْ مِنْ اَهْلِيْۚ وَاِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَاَنْتَ اَحْكَمُ الْحٰكِمِيْنَ (هود : ١١)
- wanādā
- وَنَادَىٰ
- And Nuh called
- nūḥun
- نُوحٌ
- And Nuh called
- rabbahu
- رَّبَّهُۥ
- (to) his Lord
- faqāla
- فَقَالَ
- and said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "O my Lord!
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- ib'nī
- ٱبْنِى
- my son
- min
- مِنْ
- (is) of
- ahlī
- أَهْلِى
- my family
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- and indeed
- waʿdaka
- وَعْدَكَ
- Your promise
- l-ḥaqu
- ٱلْحَقُّ
- (is) true
- wa-anta
- وَأَنتَ
- and You
- aḥkamu
- أَحْكَمُ
- (are) the Most Just
- l-ḥākimīna
- ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ
- (of) the judges"
Transliteration:
Wa naadaa noohur Rabbahoo faqaala Rabbi innabnee min ahlee wa inna wa'dakal haqqu wa Anta ahkamul haakimeen(QS. Hūd:45)
English / Sahih Translation:
And Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!" (QS. Hud, ayah 45)

And Noah called out to his Lord and said, `My Lord, lo! my son, Canaan, is of my family, and You promised me that they would be saved, and truly Your promise is the Truth, which never fails, and You are the Most Just of Judges', the most knowledgeable and the fairest of them.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
A Return to the Story of the Son of Nuh and mentioning what transpired between Nuh and Allah concerning Him
Allah tells;
وَنَادَى نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُ
And Nuh called upon his Lord,
This was a request for information and an inquiry from Nuh concerning the circumstances of his son's drowning.
فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابُنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي
and said, "O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family!"
This means, "Verily, You promised to save my family and Your promise is the truth that does not fail. Therefore, how can he (my son) be drowned and You are the Most Just of the judges!"
وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ
And certainly, Your promise is true, and You are the Most Just of the judges."
