Al-Qur'an Surah Hud Verse 39

Mufti Taqi Usmani

So, you shall soon know who will be visited by a scourge that will humiliate him, and upon whom a lasting punishment will settle forever.”

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
for your mocking.

And you will know,

مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ

who it is on whom will come a torment that will cover him with disgrace,

This means that it (the torment) will humiliate him in this life.

وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ



and on whom will fall a lasting torment.

that is continuous and everlasting
