Al-Qur'an Surah Hud Verse 118
Hud [11]: 118 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَلَوْ شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ اُمَّةً وَّاحِدَةً وَّلَا يَزَالُوْنَ مُخْتَلِفِيْنَۙ (هود : ١١)
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- shāa
- شَآءَ
- your Lord (had) willed
- rabbuka
- رَبُّكَ
- your Lord (had) willed
- lajaʿala
- لَجَعَلَ
- surely He (could) have made
- l-nāsa
- ٱلنَّاسَ
- the mankind
- ummatan
- أُمَّةً
- one community
- wāḥidatan
- وَٰحِدَةًۖ
- one community
- walā
- وَلَا
- but not
- yazālūna
- يَزَالُونَ
- they will cease
- mukh'talifīna
- مُخْتَلِفِينَ
- to differ
Transliteration:
Wa law shaaa'a Rabbuka laja'alannnaasa ummatanw waa hidatanw wa laa yazaaloona mukhtalifeen(QS. Hūd:118)
English / Sahih Translation:
And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ, (QS. Hud, ayah 118)

Allah has not made Faith universally accepted
Allah says;
وَلَوْ شَاء رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً
And if your Lord had so willed, He could surely have made mankind one Ummah, but they will not cease to disagree.
Allah, the Exalted, informs that He is able to make all of mankind one nation upon belief, or disbelief.
This is just as He said,
وَلَوْ شَأءَ رَبُّكَ لامَنَ مَن فِى الاٌّرْضِ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا
And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. (10;99)
Allah goes on to say,
وَلَا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ
