Al-Qur'an Surah Hud Verse 106

Hud [11]: 106 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ شَقُوْا فَفِى النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا زَفِيْرٌ وَّشَهِيْقٌۙ (هود : ١١)

fa-ammā
فَأَمَّا
As for
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
shaqū
شَقُوا۟
were wretched
fafī
فَفِى
then (they will be) in
l-nāri
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
lahum
لَهُمْ
For them
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
zafīrun
زَفِيرٌ
(is) sighing
washahīqun
وَشَهِيقٌ
and wailing

Transliteration:

Fa ammal lazeena shaqoo fafin Naari lahum feehaa zafeerunw wa shaheeq (QS. Hūd:106)

English / Sahih Translation:

As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling. (QS. Hud, ayah 106)

As for those who are wretched, they shall be in the Fire. For them there is (nothing but) crying and howling.

So but those who were miserable/unhappy, so (they are) in the fire , for them in it (is) deep exhalation and loud inhalation .

As for those who are damned, according to God's [prior] knowledge, they will be in the Fire; their lot therein will be wailing, which is a loud sound, and sighing, which is a faint sound;

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

The Condition of the Wretched People and their Destination

Allah, the Exalted, says,

فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ شَقُواْ فَفِي النَّارِ

As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire,

Then Allah explains the situation of the wretched people and the happy people.

He says,

لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ



in it they will experience Zafir and Shahiq.

Ibn Abbas said,

"Az-Zafir is a sound in the throat and Ash-Shahiq is a sound in the chest. This means that their exhaling will be Zafir and their inhaling will Shahiq."

This will be due to the torment that they will be experiencing. We seek refuge with Allah from such evil
