وَامْرَاَتُهٗ قَاۤىِٕمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنٰهَا بِاِسْحٰقَۙ وَمِنْ وَّرَاۤءِ اِسْحٰقَ يَعْقُوْبَ ٧١
- wa-im'ra-atuhu
- وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ
- And his wife
- qāimatun
- قَآئِمَةٌ
- (was) standing
- faḍaḥikat
- فَضَحِكَتْ
- and she laughed
- fabasharnāhā
- فَبَشَّرْنَٰهَا
- Then We gave her glad tidings
- bi-is'ḥāqa
- بِإِسْحَٰقَ
- of Ishaq
- wamin
- وَمِن
- and after
- warāi
- وَرَآءِ
- and after
- is'ḥāqa
- إِسْحَٰقَ
- Isaac
- yaʿqūba
- يَعْقُوبَ
- (of) Yaqub
And his wife was standing, and she smiled. Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac and after Isaac, Jacob. (QS. [11] Hud: 71)Tafsir
قَالَتْ يٰوَيْلَتٰىٓ ءَاَلِدُ وَاَنَا۠ عَجُوْزٌ وَّهٰذَا بَعْلِيْ شَيْخًا ۗاِنَّ هٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عَجِيْبٌ ٧٢
- qālat
- قَالَتْ
- She said
- yāwaylatā
- يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ
- "Woe to me!
- a-alidu
- ءَأَلِدُ
- Shall I bear a child
- wa-anā
- وَأَنَا۠
- while I am
- ʿajūzun
- عَجُوزٌ
- an old woman
- wahādhā
- وَهَٰذَا
- and this
- baʿlī
- بَعْلِى
- my husband
- shaykhan
- شَيْخًاۖ
- (is) an old man?
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- lashayon
- لَشَىْءٌ
- (is) surely a thing
- ʿajībun
- عَجِيبٌ
- amazing"
She said, "Woe to me! Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is an amazing thing!" (QS. [11] Hud: 72)Tafsir
قَالُوْٓا اَتَعْجَبِيْنَ مِنْ اَمْرِ اللّٰهِ رَحْمَتُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكٰتُهٗ عَلَيْكُمْ اَهْلَ الْبَيْتِۗ اِنَّهُ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ٧٣
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- ataʿjabīna
- أَتَعْجَبِينَ
- "Are you amazed
- min
- مِنْ
- at
- amri
- أَمْرِ
- (the) decree of Allah?
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- (the) decree of Allah?
- raḥmatu
- رَحْمَتُ
- The Mercy of Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- The Mercy of Allah
- wabarakātuhu
- وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥ
- and His blessings
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُمْ
- (be) upon you
- ahla
- أَهْلَ
- people
- l-bayti
- ٱلْبَيْتِۚ
- (of) the house
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed, He
- ḥamīdun
- حَمِيدٌ
- (is) All-Praiseworthy
- majīdun
- مَّجِيدٌ
- All-Glorious"
They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allah? May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable." (QS. [11] Hud: 73)Tafsir
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاۤءَتْهُ الْبُشْرٰى يُجَادِلُنَا فِيْ قَوْمِ لُوْطٍ ٧٤
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- And when
- dhahaba
- ذَهَبَ
- (had) gone away
- ʿan
- عَنْ
- from
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- Ibrahim
- l-rawʿu
- ٱلرَّوْعُ
- the fright
- wajāathu
- وَجَآءَتْهُ
- and had reached him
- l-bush'rā
- ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ
- the glad tidings
- yujādilunā
- يُجَٰدِلُنَا
- he argued with Us
- fī
- فِى
- concerning
- qawmi
- قَوْمِ
- the people
- lūṭin
- لُوطٍ
- of Lut
And when the fright had left Abraham and the good tidings had reached him, he began to argue [i.e., plead] with Us concerning the people of Lot. (QS. [11] Hud: 74)Tafsir
اِنَّ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ لَحَلِيْمٌ اَوَّاهٌ مُّنِيْبٌ ٧٥
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- Ibrahim
- laḥalīmun
- لَحَلِيمٌ
- (was) certainly forbearing
- awwāhun
- أَوَّٰهٌ
- imploring
- munībun
- مُّنِيبٌ
- and oft-returning
Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, grieving and [frequently] returning [to Allah]. (QS. [11] Hud: 75)Tafsir
يٰٓاِبْرٰهِيْمُ اَعْرِضْ عَنْ هٰذَا ۚاِنَّهٗ قَدْ جَاۤءَ اَمْرُ رَبِّكَۚ وَاِنَّهُمْ اٰتِيْهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُوْدٍ ٧٦
- yāib'rāhīmu
- يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
- O Ibrahim!
- aʿriḍ
- أَعْرِضْ
- Turn away
- ʿan
- عَنْ
- from
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآۖ
- this
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed it
- qad
- قَدْ
- certainly
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- has come
- amru
- أَمْرُ
- (the) Command
- rabbika
- رَبِّكَۖ
- (of) your Lord
- wa-innahum
- وَإِنَّهُمْ
- and indeed [they]
- ātīhim
- ءَاتِيهِمْ
- (will) come (for) them
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- ghayru
- غَيْرُ
- (which) cannot
- mardūdin
- مَرْدُودٍ
- (be) repelled
[The angels said], "O Abraham, give up this [plea]. Indeed, the command of your Lord has come, and indeed, there will reach them a punishment that cannot be repelled." (QS. [11] Hud: 76)Tafsir
وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوْطًا سِيْۤءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَّقَالَ هٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيْبٌ ٧٧
- walammā
- وَلَمَّا
- And when
- jāat
- جَآءَتْ
- came
- rusulunā
- رُسُلُنَا
- Our messengers
- lūṭan
- لُوطًا
- (to) Lut
- sīa
- سِىٓءَ
- he was distressed
- bihim
- بِهِمْ
- for them
- waḍāqa
- وَضَاقَ
- and felt straitened
- bihim
- بِهِمْ
- for them
- dharʿan
- ذَرْعًا
- (and) uneasy
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- and said
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- "This
- yawmun
- يَوْمٌ
- (is) a day
- ʿaṣībun
- عَصِيبٌ
- distressful"
And when Our messengers, [the angels], came to Lot, he was anguished for them and felt for them great discomfort and said, "This is a trying day." (QS. [11] Hud: 77)Tafsir
وَجَاۤءَهٗ قَوْمُهٗ يُهْرَعُوْنَ اِلَيْهِۗ وَمِنْ قَبْلُ كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ السَّيِّاٰتِۗ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِيْ هُنَّ اَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلَا تُخْزُوْنِ فِيْ ضَيْفِيْۗ اَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيْدٌ ٧٨
- wajāahu
- وَجَآءَهُۥ
- And came (to) him
- qawmuhu
- قَوْمُهُۥ
- his people
- yuh'raʿūna
- يُهْرَعُونَ
- rushing
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to him
- wamin
- وَمِن
- and before
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- and before
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they (had) been
- yaʿmalūna
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- doing
- l-sayiāti
- ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِۚ
- the evil deeds
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- yāqawmi
- يَٰقَوْمِ
- "O my people!
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- These
- banātī
- بَنَاتِى
- (are) my daughters
- hunna
- هُنَّ
- they
- aṭharu
- أَطْهَرُ
- (are) purer
- lakum
- لَكُمْۖ
- for you
- fa-ittaqū
- فَٱتَّقُوا۟
- So fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tukh'zūni
- تُخْزُونِ
- disgrace me
- fī
- فِى
- concerning
- ḍayfī
- ضَيْفِىٓۖ
- my guests
- alaysa
- أَلَيْسَ
- Is (there) not
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- among you
- rajulun
- رَجُلٌ
- a man
- rashīdun
- رَّشِيدٌ
- right-minded?"
And his people came hastening to him, and before [this] they had been doing evil deeds. He said, "O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allah and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there not among you a man of reason?" (QS. [11] Hud: 78)Tafsir
قَالُوْا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِيْ بَنٰتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّۚ وَاِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيْدُ ٧٩
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- laqad
- لَقَدْ
- "Verily
- ʿalim'ta
- عَلِمْتَ
- you know
- mā
- مَا
- (that) not
- lanā
- لَنَا
- we have
- fī
- فِى
- concerning
- banātika
- بَنَاتِكَ
- your daughters
- min
- مِنْ
- any
- ḥaqqin
- حَقٍّ
- right
- wa-innaka
- وَإِنَّكَ
- And indeed you
- lataʿlamu
- لَتَعْلَمُ
- surely know
- mā
- مَا
- what
- nurīdu
- نُرِيدُ
- we want"
They said, "You have already known that we have not concerning your daughters [i.e., women] any claim [i.e., desire], and indeed, you know what we want." (QS. [11] Hud: 79)Tafsir
قَالَ لَوْ اَنَّ لِيْ بِكُمْ قُوَّةً اَوْ اٰوِيْٓ اِلٰى رُكْنٍ شَدِيْدٍ ٨٠
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- law
- لَوْ
- "If
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- lī
- لِى
- I had
- bikum
- بِكُمْ
- over you
- quwwatan
- قُوَّةً
- power
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- āwī
- ءَاوِىٓ
- I could take refuge
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- in
- ruk'nin
- رُكْنٍ
- a support
- shadīdin
- شَدِيدٍ
- strong"
He said, "If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong support." (QS. [11] Hud: 80)Tafsir
