يٰقَوْمِ لَآ اَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ اَجْرًا ۗاِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِيْ فَطَرَنِيْ ۗ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ٥١
- yāqawmi
- يَٰقَوْمِ
- O my people!
- lā
- لَآ
- Not
- asalukum
- أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
- I ask you
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- for it
- ajran
- أَجْرًاۖ
- any reward
- in
- إِنْ
- Not
- ajriya
- أَجْرِىَ
- (is) my reward
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- from
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- the One Who
- faṭaranī
- فَطَرَنِىٓۚ
- created me
- afalā
- أَفَلَا
- Then will not
- taʿqilūna
- تَعْقِلُونَ
- you use reason?
O my people, I do not ask you for it [i.e., my advice] any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason? (QS. [11] Hud: 51)Tafsir
وَيٰقَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوْبُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاۤءَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّدْرَارًا وَّيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً اِلٰى قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ ٥٢
- wayāqawmi
- وَيَٰقَوْمِ
- And O my people!
- is'taghfirū
- ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟
- Ask forgiveness
- rabbakum
- رَبَّكُمْ
- (of) your Lord
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- tūbū
- تُوبُوٓا۟
- turn in repentance
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to Him
- yur'sili
- يُرْسِلِ
- He will send
- l-samāa
- ٱلسَّمَآءَ
- (from) the sky (rain)
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُم
- upon you
- mid'rāran
- مِّدْرَارًا
- (in) abundance
- wayazid'kum
- وَيَزِدْكُمْ
- and increase you
- quwwatan
- قُوَّةً
- (in) strength
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- (added) to
- quwwatikum
- قُوَّتِكُمْ
- your strength
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tatawallaw
- تَتَوَلَّوْا۟
- turn away
- muj'rimīna
- مُجْرِمِينَ
- (as) criminals"
And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals." (QS. [11] Hud: 52)Tafsir
قَالُوْا يٰهُوْدُ مَاجِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَّمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِيْٓ اٰلِهَتِنَا عَنْ قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٥٣

- They said
- yāhūdu
- يَٰهُودُ
- "O Hud!
- mā
- مَا
- You have not brought us
- ji'tanā
- جِئْتَنَا
- You have not brought us
- bibayyinatin
- بِبَيِّنَةٍ
- clear proofs
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- bitārikī
- بِتَارِكِىٓ
- (will) leave
- ālihatinā
- ءَالِهَتِنَا
- our gods
- ʿan
- عَن
- on
- qawlika
- قَوْلِكَ
- your saying
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we (are)
- laka
- لَكَ
- in you
- bimu'minīna
- بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
- believers
They said, "O Hud, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you. (QS. [11] Hud: 53)Tafsir
اِنْ نَّقُوْلُ اِلَّا اعْتَرٰىكَ بَعْضُ اٰلِهَتِنَا بِسُوْۤءٍ ۗقَالَ اِنِّيْٓ اُشْهِدُ اللّٰهَ وَاشْهَدُوْٓا اَنِّيْ بَرِيْۤءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُوْنَ ٥٤

- Not
- naqūlu
- نَّقُولُ
- we say
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except (that)
- iʿ'tarāka
- ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ
- have seized you
- baʿḍu
- بَعْضُ
- some
- ālihatinā
- ءَالِهَتِنَا
- (of) our gods
- bisūin
- بِسُوٓءٍۗ
- with evil"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- innī
- إِنِّىٓ
- "Indeed, I
- ush'hidu
- أُشْهِدُ
- [I] call Allah to witness
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- [I] call Allah to witness
- wa-ish'hadū
- وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟
- and (you) bear witness
- annī
- أَنِّى
- that I am
- barīon
- بَرِىٓءٌ
- innocent
- mimmā
- مِّمَّا
- of what
- tush'rikūna
- تُشْرِكُونَ
- you associate
We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil [i.e., insanity]." He said, "Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah (QS. [11] Hud: 54)Tafsir
مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ فَكِيْدُوْنِيْ جَمِيْعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنْظِرُوْنِ ٥٥

- Other than Him

- دُونِهِۦۖ
- Other than Him
- fakīdūnī
- فَكِيدُونِى
- So plot against me
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all together
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then

- (do) not
- tunẓirūni
- تُنظِرُونِ
- give me respite
Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite. (QS. [11] Hud: 55)Tafsir
اِنِّيْ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ رَبِّيْ وَرَبِّكُمْ ۗمَا مِنْ دَاۤبَّةٍ اِلَّا هُوَ اٰخِذٌۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ٥٦

- Indeed, I
- tawakkaltu
- تَوَكَّلْتُ
- [I] put my trust
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- upon
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- warabbikum
- وَرَبِّكُمۚ
- and your Lord
- mā
- مَّا
- (There is) not
- min
- مِن
- of a moving creature
- dābbatin
- دَآبَّةٍ
- of a moving creature
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- ākhidhun
- ءَاخِذٌۢ
- has grasp
- bināṣiyatihā
- بِنَاصِيَتِهَآۚ
- of its forelock
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- (is) on
- ṣirāṭin
- صِرَٰطٍ
- a path
- mus'taqīmin
- مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
- straight
Indeed, I have relied upon Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds it by its forelock [i.e., controls it]. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight. (QS. [11] Hud: 56)Tafsir
فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقَدْ اَبْلَغْتُكُمْ مَّآ اُرْسِلْتُ بِهٖٓ اِلَيْكُمْ ۗوَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّيْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْۗ وَلَا تَضُرُّوْنَهٗ شَيْـًٔا ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيْظٌ ٥٧
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- So if
- tawallaw
- تَوَلَّوْا۟
- you turn away
- faqad
- فَقَدْ
- then verily
- ablaghtukum
- أَبْلَغْتُكُم
- I have conveyed to you
- mā
- مَّآ
- what
- ur'sil'tu
- أُرْسِلْتُ
- I was sent
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓ
- with [it]
- ilaykum
- إِلَيْكُمْۚ
- to you
- wayastakhlifu
- وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ
- And my Lord will give succession
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- And my Lord will give succession
- qawman
- قَوْمًا
- (to) a people
- ghayrakum
- غَيْرَكُمْ
- other than you
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- taḍurrūnahu
- تَضُرُّونَهُۥ
- you will harm Him
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔاۚ
- (in) anything
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- (is) on
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- all
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- things
- ḥafīẓun
- حَفِيظٌ
- a Guardian"
But if you turn away, then I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian." (QS. [11] Hud: 57)Tafsir
وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُوْدًا وَّالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّاۚ وَنَجَّيْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيْظٍ ٥٨
- walammā
- وَلَمَّا
- And when
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- came
- amrunā
- أَمْرُنَا
- Our command
- najjaynā
- نَجَّيْنَا
- We saved
- hūdan
- هُودًا
- Hud
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believed
- maʿahu
- مَعَهُۥ
- with him
- biraḥmatin
- بِرَحْمَةٍ
- by a Mercy
- minnā
- مِّنَّا
- from Us
- wanajjaynāhum
- وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُم
- and We saved them
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ʿadhābin
- عَذَابٍ
- a punishment
- ghalīẓin
- غَلِيظٍ
- severe
And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment. (QS. [11] Hud: 58)Tafsir
وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ ۖجَحَدُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا رُسُلَهٗ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيْدٍ ٥٩
- watil'ka
- وَتِلْكَ
- And this
- ʿādun
- عَادٌۖ
- (was) Aad
- jaḥadū
- جَحَدُوا۟
- they rejected
- biāyāti
- بِـَٔايَٰتِ
- (the) Signs
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- (of) their Lord
- waʿaṣaw
- وَعَصَوْا۟
- and disobeyed
- rusulahu
- رُسُلَهُۥ
- His Messengers
- wa-ittabaʿū
- وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
- and followed
- amra
- أَمْرَ
- (the) command
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- (of) every
- jabbārin
- جَبَّارٍ
- tyrant
- ʿanīdin
- عَنِيدٍ
- obstinate
And that was Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant. (QS. [11] Hud: 59)Tafsir
وَاُتْبِعُوْا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَّيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوْا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ اَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُوْدٍ ࣖ ٦٠
- wa-ut'biʿū
- وَأُتْبِعُوا۟
- And they were followed
- fī
- فِى
- in
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- this
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- world
- laʿnatan
- لَعْنَةً
- (with) a curse
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- and (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۗ
- (of) the Resurrection
- alā
- أَلَآ
- No doubt!
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- ʿādan
- عَادًا
- Aad
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- rabbahum
- رَبَّهُمْۗ
- their Lord
- alā
- أَلَا
- So
- buʿ'dan
- بُعْدًا
- away
- liʿādin
- لِّعَادٍ
- with Aad
- qawmi
- قَوْمِ
- (the) people
- hūdin
- هُودٍ
- (of) Hud
And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, Aad denied their Lord; then away with Aad, the people of Hud. (QS. [11] Hud: 60)Tafsir
